Mika has been the best skater on the ice. His passing is impeccable. When he gets going he is a total playmaker.

Ironically the way skating works is that the blades melt the ice more with increased pressure 🤔...so it would only make sense for you to be saying he's skating "really hard"?? As an aside...Ovetchkin is an animal we are unlikely to see again. Top 2 NHL history in goals and Top 5 NHL history in body checks. No one has or conceivably will dominate a league that way. There are better (many) players than him. However there has never been anyone do what he has done for almost 20 years. To downplay his career and how unstoppable he has been is equivalent to wearing a jersey with "Don't know hockey" on the back.

The guy is 39yo. You can't expect him to play 2-way hockey like he did in his 20s or even early 30s.
Ovi extra baggage for the whole team in playoffs, Lindgren good goalie but you need clutch saves to stay alive.
Ovi. You need to retire mate. Your heart's not in it at all anymore. You're playing for a record and nothing else.
On point, his career is all about chasing the record now. He's got his cup anyway so his heart is not really there to be digging that deep down and put in the effort.

Definitely crosby is still really high end talent. Ovechkins game just doesnt translate well at this point in his career in the modern game nhl, crosby wins faceoffs passes much better and an overall better player
The two wrong teams lucked into it. They were the last two teams that wanted to make the playoffs. Even Philly would have been a better choice.

Why are over half of your highlight packages consistently in the first period, and then in this example and others I've seen so far you show like three highlights in the third period, and then jump to the end of the game. Are you seriously telling me that absolutely nothing happened worth showing a highlight of in the entire third period? I find that so hard to believe having watched hockey for years. Why does it need to be said that there should be more highlights near the end of the game than in the first period to give the most important parts of the game? Please put more thought into this.

Charlie Lindgren cannot be faulted for this loss. He played outstanding in the crease for Capitals. Gave them a chance to win. Great game!!

Wash down 3-0 has been a total team effort. Not just Ovi.
Now I know why Ovi is always playing the full 2 minutes of power play. He stand still and let all his other teammates does all the work.

Washington is so slow, predictable and are going to have a problem with such a low skill set team. They were lucky to make the playoffs. It should have gone to a younger and hungrier team.

Shesterkin bailed out the team today, which a goalie should be able to do, but I rather see the defense play better and keep the ice clear in front of the goalie. Too many guys left alone in front and stop the stupid penalties. Six is too many.

Ovie looks tired. He's a big man and he can't carry all that weight around for 82 games. I would be disappointed to see the goal scoring record go to him. He was great, hall of fame player but he's just hanging around to see if could get it. I think it's on the NHL players to prevent that from happening next season. Ovie can be shutdown, he can't keep up anymore. New mission: Protect 99's record.
