When You pray a prayer and God hear and accept it - „Your” truly good. He is Savior. It’s other topic on other level. Problem is with externality, thoughtlessness and finally lack of His Word, truly repentance and conversion.
MacArthur’s sermon on deception of empty words and empty hearts is exactly what is taught in the scriptures. When a person comes to Christ with a repentant heart, they are recreated in the image of Christ. We are given a new heart with new desires and God’s laws are written on the new heart and empowered by the Holy Spirit to obey God. Hebrews 8:10 & 10:16. God has alway wanted obedient children. But the law written on stone could never be obeyed. Animal sacrifice was a substitute. God is angry enough to destroy all of mankind, but He accepted a sacrifice. Jesus came as the perfect ,once for all sacrifice to destroy the works of the devil and for the Father to send us His Spirit and make us new.
That is what the Catholic Church has been preaching for 1900 years before MacArthur was born -- MacArthur picks and chooses what he likes from the bible and often contradicts it ! Take the 14 passages in the bible that support the Sacrament of the Eucharist (Start with John 6 ) ... All he can come up with is "Catholicism / the Priest takes Jesus down from the cross and sacrifices him again and again " When it is explained in the Catholic Eucharistic prayer "... as we join in this ONE living and perfect sacrifice ... "
We are saved by faith alone in Christ alone. Through the wonderful grace of a Holy and Righteous God. We don't deserve it, we don't earn it. It is a precious free gift unto salvation.
And the evidence that we have received this grace is that we have repented and continue repenting. Our relationship with sin is most telling. Do we hate our sin and do anything we can to cut it off and follow Jesus or do we love our sin and do anything to stay in it? Jesus commanded us to repent. So did John the Baptist and the disciples. Turning away from sin is the evidence we have believed.
Maybe this will help. Grace is not a license to sin. Work out your salvation daily. Take up your cross. Be serious with God each day. We are slaves and our master is Jesus.

Please anyone who has watched this, take the time to watch " the gospel of doubt" by dr Bob Wilkin. It is a chapter by chapter analisis of mcarthers book. It here on utube and well worth the time as ine of the chapters is about broad and narrow way.
Sure, I don't know everything, but it seems to me that if you're not sure you're a Christian, you're not. If you love Jesus, you're a Christian. If you don't know if you love someone or not , you don't love them.
Be careful with these men, it is Christ alone who saves. It is not your works, how obedient you are, whether you are tempted or not that saves. It is Christ's finished work on the cross that saves. Trust in that and you can be assured you are saved, whether John MacArthur or Todd Friel believe it or not.

Unfortunately Todd is making me think he doesn't believe the words of Jesus in the new testament. Maybe if you see this Todd you could specify what God's word says is a map on how to become born again? I just heard you in the video that says alot of people leave out the words repent, that is certainly important but is that a pre condition of becoming saved of is that a response to being saved?

Placing our Faith in Christ and trusting him to change us into a holy Child of God so that we will appear before him blameless is solely because of the work of Christ not ours. Thats why Christ said we will know them by there fruits. Like demons, we can believe in Christ but live against him. The ones fall under such conditions are called lukewarmers.

I agree with you, I am not calling God a liar or anyone else if they tell me that they believe Christ is the way the truth and the life and that they have believed and placed their faith in Him. God can call them a liar if they are fake, but even if I see blatant sin I will call it out but not question their sitting with God. Because if they are born again then God is dealing with them as He sees fit and they need to submit to his will and turn from sin. They don't need told "well what God's word says is actually not good enough, you actually have to do exactly as I say." This is the attitude that Todd shows sometimes unfortunately, as helpful and biblically solid as he is alot of the time.
