I was born in England. My family emigrated to Canada in ‘67. I went back my one and only time in ‘88 and stayed a month. I travelled alot of the country, as well as a week in London doing all tourist attractions. Of coarse, meeting my family was the highlight of my trip, Bamburgh castle was a close second. Standing by the cannons, facing the sea was amazing and powerful. The views from the beach stunning. Your video is the best I’ve come across yet. Thank you so much for sparking some great memories for me. The drone footage was breathtaking. England will always have my ❤.
An amazing video pulling at my heart strings with memories of walking in Bamburgh many times in my teens . You MUST experience sitting in the sand dunes and watching the moonlight making a silver pathway over the water and eventually sleeping in a small tent ,tired out after a long day of walking ,then waking up to the sunrise and the seagulls calling .( No choice ,as they don't allow you to sleep in 😂) I think you'd really enjoy it 😊
That was GREAT! I was born and grow up in England for the first 27 years of my life before moving to Canada. Your video's make me realize how much I missed! Thank you :)
Thank you, really enjoyed the walk. Consider coming back to Seahouses in summer and a boat trip to the Farne Islands for the wildlife, you won't be disappointed. !
I used to holiday in one of the cottages on the green when I was a kid, lovely village, beautiful beaches, happy memories, visited again last year for a week, really enjoyed it, you do it credit, fantastic footage. 👍
@@GimbalWalkTV I am in the Most Northern Part of New York State in the Adirondack Mtns and close to the Canadian Border and Montreal Canada is 60 miles north of us. Very cold winter and we have snow now on the ground till Spring. A very rural area with lots of Land and wild animals etc. I have many friends in the UK and love the place. Good Day to you also and cheers from the states.
The white, wooden building and green under the castle is Bamburgh cricket club and pitch, lovely to watch the men in their Whites on a sunny summer afternoon 😎
Why didn't I know about Bamburgh Castle when I lived in England? I visited the Northeast plenty of times and even lived 6 months near New Castle. Beautiful castle, beautiful town. I loved walking down the sandy path to the beach and seeing the hundreds of shoe prints in the sand. But most of all, the spectacular ending with the shots from the drone! Your videos have gone from a nine to a ten since purchasing it! Well done, now go tie that shoelace! :)
I am subscribed to your channel and love your walks. I grew up in Berwick on Tweed and emigrated to Canada in 1974. Been to Bamburgh 100's times and had picnics in the sand dunes and swam in the FREEZING water. Great memories and thank you so much for your videos. I will search and see if you have any of Hawick in Scotland where I was born, LOL. Silly me thinks you have walked everywhere. Thanks again.
I haven't been to Bamburgh in 40 odd years, we went on a day trip with the school, Bamburgh, Seahouses and Holy Island. I remember going in the castle and to Grace Darling Museum which was tiny back then.
Who came here after watching the last kingdom series with lord uhtred son of uhtred the lord of Bebbanburg which known today as Bamburgh Castle 🏰? So like it.😍
Oh really !! that ending was stunning and the music just perfect 👍 Do you like our Northumberland flag? It's the red and yellow one near the start of your walk. And what a majestic sight that castle is - lovely photography, well done ✔💯 I do so enjoy these walks so thanks again Gimbal - keep em coming 🤩
What month did you take the video? It must be really nice to have the castle all to yourself just like that, and during that season are shops and restaurants open still or just very few?
@@GimbalWalkTVYes thinking of buying mini 2 combo, when it comes down in price, not a pro drone but not far off, my budget doesn't stretch to a mini 3 Unfortunately.
A suggestion for those of us who live outside the UK?..could you put a little map Of UK with a pointer to show which part of the country the Town or Village is?😊
be wary of people asking for post box images as the rarer ones are being stolen to order its quite a problem now so i fear some of those asking you are just on the rob but that aside its a lovely video and place to visit for a beer and to take pics
Not this one though. The original was destroyed by the Vikings, then a Norman castle built. I wonder if the sea was closer then? A helluva formidable site.

It brought back good memories.

Thank you !
You weren't kidding about the ending!
❤️❤️❤️
I was there about 45 years ago. I was with others from Ilkeston Grammar School.
Nice! Bet that was good fun
At 8.26 that Castle looks like it has been superimposed!
It does!
It does even more in real life when you’re there too!!

Bamburgh was called Bebbenburg in the days of the Vikings. The Last Kingdom series on Netflix was based on Utred of Bebbenburg.
Eric Bruce
Thanks Eric! Didn't know that!!
Not this one though. The original was destroyed by the Vikings, then a Norman castle built. I wonder if the sea was closer then? A helluva formidable site.
Linda
Don't they wash buses in Bamburgh, it was filthy
The buses are washed daily, that bus was heading back to Newcastle which is quite a round trip
Mucky buses!
Avoid the castle inn. Proprietor is an ignorant tool.
Oh no! Really?
