So Sgt. Johnson's surviving Halo 1 isn't just classified, it's triple classified with layers of military coverups, which is only partially explained in game in the supplementary terminals. The classified "public" explanation for how he survived the Flood and avoided being turned into a zombie with the rest of the marines was because his body is super radiated after using an entire crate of Covenant plasma grenades. The actual reason is that Johnson's body was modified as part of the SPARTAN I project, the Spartans before Master Chief, which kept him from being zombified. As for how he survived Halo's explosion, they say he just managed to find a Pelican and fly off with a bunch of other surviving marines. That of course is just another military coverup hiding the contributions of an Elite alien who you see shielding Johnson with the power of love if you beat Halo 1 on Legendary difficulty.

The first super soldier group was the Orion Program with adults (didn’t work) The second were the Spartan 2’s (Master Chief and other kidnapped children) The third were the Spartan 3’s (war orphans and treated more like suicidal disposable troops) The last ones were the Spartan 4’s (adults who were able to become Spartans after the war)
Heck yeah it's great seeing you having a fun time with the Halo series so far! It would also be a real treat to see you in Escape From Tarkov even if there are struggles along the way. If you want someone to play Tarkov with and help you find your way, it would be an honor if I could join you!
