  • Reddit has stopped working for millions of users around the world.
The mass outage comes amid a major boycott from thousands of the site’s administrators… who are protesting new changes to the platform that could cost more for third-party app developers
On 12 June, popular sub-Reddits like r/videos and r/bestof went dark shortly after the announcement of new API (Application Programming Interface) charges for third-party app developers.
Apps like iOS Apollo, which announced it was shutting down because of the increased costs.

That video does not really grasp the long term consequences, or WHY the subreddits are protesting. The apps like apollo where not only used by normal users that wanted to access Reddit via a good application and not the buggy mess that Reddit offers. Those apps get USED BY MODERATORS too. And they are CRITICAL FOR THEM so when the actual changes take effect next month a huge amount of moderators are leaving, or at least stopping being moderators, because the TOOLS THAT REDDIT OFFERS are NOT ENOUGH. So SCAMMERS and people SPREADING MISINFORMATION are getting an EASIER TIME and the overall QUALITY SINKS more and more. Now a lot of subreddits are still in the blackout because they WANT reddit to be a good enviroment for the community. But i dont really belive so so reddit is digging its own grave.
