It is hard to believe this is really the TR3 engine! It takes SO MUCH EFFORD, creativity and skill to make such beautiful levels! Just notice all the custom 3d meshes and textures that refine the world!
The atmos is spot on, the lighting is so grimey and urban, definitely a lot of love and care put into the intricacies of AoD so far! Also, an FF7 playthrough would be quite fun to watch too, so +1 to the suggestion! :)
This would have much more potential if it was made using those same retro lower-poly models, BUT also with *Tomb Engine* which allows for much better lighting and geometry.
@@renemeetstheworld67 i did yeah, far back when it was new on ps2, half the game has tomb raider like stuff sure, but lara shouldnt be running around in 1 town or city talking to npcs as if it was an L.A. Noire game, tomb raider 1-4 is more tomb raider like than AoD, same problem with the reboot games, changing far too much and losing its identity.
@@FlameBunny It didn't lose it's identity though. It expanded on it. The 5 games beforehand basically had the exact same gameplay. I think adding a bigger emphasis on story telling and roleplay was the best thing about AOD. It's just a shame that there was only one tomb segment really. A very good one but it could have used a couple more.
Despite general reviews, I really liked this game for it's story line. Yes, og lara is still my favorite, but I don't think this game was as bad as portrayed. I took the game with a grain of salt, considering it was the first of its kind on ps2.
I really hope in the Remaster you CAN play AoD with tank controls. I prefer them to modern controls and I've never heard played AoD before but I know the controls were ass in it
I don’t think this is a demake. The graphics and level design is very spot on & faithful to the original game, but with the smoother TR3 styled tank control , this looks more like a remaster of the original AOD. If this was made in TR5 engine, it might even be an upgrade. 😅

Angel of Darkness is easily the best Tomb Raider interms of story and the overall vibe. Also, AoD Lara is hot

AOD is tank controls…. It’s actually as bad as the classics in the control department- it just didn’t work as well due to it no longer being on a grid
