    Well explained out. I think I definitely like the simultaneous 1/2P button push to change game but that board doesn't have holes for feet etc. nice video man, thanks.

      They each have their own pros and cons. However if the mikesarcade switcher had holes for feet, I would recomended that one all the way,

    Hey man. Nice video. I wanted to point out to you something I found out when I got a Mike's double-jamma pcb. I wanted to use it with a JROK board and an ArcadeSD (or old Arcadeshop PCB) and they use 1/2P pressed to exit games so it didn't work for me. But, if you remove the little jumper on the board you can use the #26 wire from the Jamma harness to install a button/switch which is what I did. It worked nicely as I could use a regular arcade button to do it. Just FYI. Keep up the good work.

    I know this is an old video but I have two jamma boards that have only VGA, I know you mentioned there is a newer 2-1in jamma switcher, since I do not have boards with VGA, Mikes jamma Switcher will not work for me so do you think the chinese switchers are ok? Also, does it switch audio if using Jamma audio?

    • @moomert1
      @moomert1  Год назад

      I once had a multi cab where I installed 6 boards using a six in 1 switcher. Full jamma each board. Worked great if I remember correctly.

      @@moomert1 Ok thanks. The one with the switch vs remote, the one without the remote is the newer model? Going to place an order. Thanks for the input.

    a Quick fix for the mikes one I thought of would be to screw in a plastic arcade style wire tie close to the top of the jamma harness to secure it in place. Of course you will need to unscrew the wire harness before switching that game out but still should keep it from moving too much.

    Sorry for repeating the question, but maybe an user from the crowd could answer this question: I have currently a consolized
    Neo Geo MVS 1 slot console. I want to buy on eBay a jamma board of
    Street Fighter 2 world warrior. Question: is the presented adapter above
    in the video able to play a jamma SF 2 board on a Neo Geo MVS console?
    Second question: what does pandora box contain, is this kind 161 in 1
    mvs games? Can I play this jamma pandora box offered on eBay in my Neo
    Geo MVS console via this JNX atlas adapter?

    moomert1, I've heard from a lot of reviews on eBay that the Chinese one doesn't actually switch the audio properly and that only the video and controls switch from game to game. Is this the case for you?
    Also, I know that the Mike's Arcade one has it where you can switch games by pressing Button 5 on P1 side. Can this be disabled? I might wanna use this with some games that use Button 5 during gameplay.

      Hardcore Report for the Chinese one I had, it switched audio perfectly. For the mikes arcade one, if I remember correctly you can customize how the switching of games is done

    I had a question about the Mikes Arcade board, will the work with 2 multiboards? If so I would assume that I would need a VGA Splitter due to both boards connecting directly to the boards. Please answer this question for me. Thank You.

    • @moomert1
      @moomert1  9 лет назад

      in theory it should work. however as you say, you would need a splitter of some kind if you intend to hook up via vga.

      moomert1, I can't get vga out to work with my multiboard, any suggestions? don't know why I can't go multiboard vga to vga in to vga out when switched.

    I bought that yellow board and it was a total piece of crap that I ended up throwing away. The audio wouldn't switch.... it was tied together between the two input audio sources. What a joke! Get the Mike's Arcade JAMMA switcher.... I have that now and it is perfect.

    How would you compare the quality of boards such as these to the Pandora box 5?

    • @moomert1
      @moomert1  6 лет назад

      Robert Bellavance I think the boards are great and of good quality. However other people have had issues. Still I would recommend them.

    Can I use one of these boards on a neogeo arcade and also hook up a regular jamma pcb board

    • @moomert1
      @moomert1  9 лет назад

      avelargumby4877 Yes and no. Neo Geo is not jamma. So you would need to, in theory, hook up some Neo Geo to Jamma adapters first

    Thanks for the thorough explanation. Quick question for the expert: I'm new to Jamma connectors. I purchased a Mike's Arcade Donkey Kong Jamma Converter for my original Donkey Kong cab. Now I also have an iCade 60 in 1 and I want to switch between both PCB's. Will both PCB's be powered through the DK's cabinet main power supply and could this cause issues by supplying insufficient power to both PCB's. Just want to make sure I'm not damaging this 38 year old technology

      Hi. I know your comment is old, but I just wanted to ask how it all worked out for you? Because I am thinking about doing the same thing.

    • @christophhelms4905
      @christophhelms4905 9 месяцев назад

      @@THEMARTIALARTSCHANNEL-bb4fx I found a very neat solution. I wasn't happy with Mike's stuff because of the inverted color signal problem. I'm using the Vector labs DK 4 in 1 switcher. I contacted vectorlabs directly and had him change the button combo to pushing all three buttons to switch from DK PCB to Jamma. The color and brightness are excellent and now the Mame games on my optiplex look incredibly close to the PCB output

    Awesome vid. I have a couple questions concerning the cheaper one.
    Like you I want to put 2 games in an Area 51 machine. the area 51 is light gun, But the other one will use joysticks and buttons. How would you handle the different inputs?
    Can the 2 boards use different video output methods? My Area 51 uses the RGB parts of the harness. But my second device uses VGA. and because it was an Area 51 machine first the monitor uses the RGB from the harness. (so basically RGB/VGA to RGB). I heard somewhere that mixing outputs can create a bad picture. can you confirm?
    Can the two boards be different voltage? if not how would use both boards? how do you even tell? (I don't know how to see what the area 51's voltage is.)
    related to area 51 does it need to be a tube TV to work? or could I replace it with a modern monitor?
    Sorry if these are dumb questions. I'm very new to the arcade scene and this is a little hard to get my head around. not a lot of hand holding.

      ahhh I vaguely remember reading about someone wiring a separate push button. Is MIkes switcher the absolute best? I'd really like a 3 way switcher or even higher but can't find a good quality one. I"m new to all this. Right now I have 2 cabs and one is a 4 player that I want to add more games too. Right now i have a captain commando and a simpsons on the way. Capcom and Konami. If I buy the switcher, with the extender harness, do I need to buy any additional wiring. like to get all the controls working for both games? I'd appreciate any help. You're videos are tight. I enjoy watching, but some of this stuff is pretty damn technical and i"M a noob.

      Jay Gallegos if you contact directly to Mike, I think I remember him saying there was an alternative option available on his switcher for changing of games. can't remember what it was though.
      I myself preferred a modded 6 way switcher.

      Jay Gallegos look at my videos regarding my multi jamma arcade cab. I had a can with 6 games in it.
      those vids might be able to help you.
