Thanks for great video! I own one of those along with Jupiter 12, Helios 103 and Jupiter 8 (you have to try this one out). Mine is in great condition, because it belonged to my great grandfather who bought it in '84. I even have receipt for all the lens and camera itself too.
Nice one! You did succeed nicely in suppressing the haze on those 35mm shots! That is not cheating, I suspect something is rather fishy with that lens... As soon as I get it back from you I will attend to it. I know this lens can be remarkable and by the way you edited the pictures you managed to serve the lens right. So good job!
In advance of our talk... just take a step back and admire the quality of those humble lenses. Not the zeiss obviously because back in the 30's that would have been sold for a premium, but those Russian lenses. They are so pretty, almost modern... can't get over it how much quality can be achieved for so little money...
Fair amount of grain on these black and white pics. I'll assume you printed you own pics. What was the "ASA" of your film? 400 ? I found a KievM with a 6 at the beginning of it's serial number, with a Jupiter for 55 bucks. I bought it because I already have the Russian turret, which I bought for fun to decorate my Fuji X-M1 with. It actually has a function on it, when the day is too bright to see the screen. The camera body I bought looks dirty, but it's fun to get something and fix it up yourself. I'll be poking around to see what's best to use..
Thanks for great video!
