Lich probably respects him cuz due to him being a catalyst comet aswell (strongest things in verse I'm pretty sure) but Finn and the lich are polar opposites of each other destined to keep fighting forever throughout the infinite multiverses due to the nature of the two

finn is the embodiment of good, the blue catalyst comet
by destiny, they're intertwined, destined to be forever fighting, good versus evil, from life even until death
While i love this, i think the original hits harder due to the lack of soundtrack, it actually scares you
true, the lack of music makes the "You are alone child" part that much more impactful because it's literally just Finn not even the music is there with him

The lack of soundtrack is what the Lich stands for. He is nothingness, he is the end. Is is the silence after the loudness of life. His goal isn’t to conquer, or become a God. He simply wants everything to come to an end, and the sad thing is, The Lich always wins, for everything comes to an end eventually.
Lich is so damn intimidating they, they didn't need a voice filter for him. He is that guy.

The term I like is "Force of nature villain." The Lich isn't a traditional character with traditional motivations.
The Lich is the embodiment of death, entropy, and the inevitable end of everything.
You can't truly beat death, only stave if off for a time.
what i always liked about this is that finn was still able to stand up, even if it wasn't for long. it shows that he has not only true strength, but also a near impossible to break will. that without counting the balls of tungsten it takes to keep trying even after your entire world goes dark

@@greenteamatcha yes. but the reason for that fear is because of unknown memories to him for a long time, when he was a baby he was drifting for days on the oceaqn after his dad saved him from a giant robot.
he doesn't have the memories since he is a baby but the fear still lived on

I haven't actually watched the show, but if that pathetic slap at the end of the clip instagibs the lich then it doesn't sound like a good show.
@@thesong7877 Basically, that liquid Finn's in is like some super preservation fluid that regrows lost limbs in seconds, and slapping the lich with it makes him "regrow" an actual body, which sets him back but doesn't instagib him really, he's a looming threat always and exists in multiple timelines. The lich losing here doesn't stop him, but it was necessary because if that didn't happen then the lich would have like totally killed everybody. I think it's a pretty cool scene with context.

This is like that epic boss battle when you thought the main character was winning and the whole time the villain was just playing with him the whole time. Truthfully, Lich's speech with the Pain theme gives me motivation for some reason. This speech would have been badass in Naruto Shippuden
Fun fact: The Lich is voiced by Ron Pearlman, who also did the intro narration in the Fallout series.

I really like the respect that he actually showed for Finn, Recognized his strength and when he says "I am the end, and i have come for you, Finn." the way he speaks it and even says Finn´s name also shows some respect, a very cool detail.
When you realize he is the same voice actor as Fallout NV's Narrator of the game. Ron Perlman is a gift.
This is just my opinion but I feel like there's too much brightness in the choir for it to fit well with the Lich, there's an air of almost triumph in it that's pretty much the antithesis of his whole being. That being said, still rad editing and good video c:

I feel like this works because, to me at least. Pains theme evokes this feeling of something, Grand. Almost beyond comprehension or reasoning. Something much older than you.
All of which fits the lich pretty well.

To me it ruins the speech, lich have a heavy dominant voice which expresses itself in all it's glory when there is pure silence in background
Yeah it doesn't fit at all too me. It doesn't even feel ominous enough for a character like the Lich.
Have yall seen naruto? (Edit) I disagree this theme brings about to me a feeling of superiority and peerlessness. The lich is a prime example of "absolute pride" he is convinced of his own righteousness to the point of wiping out all life

I love his voice yet the emotions he express in most part of the speech i dislike, he just feels to lively, from the "fall" to "you're alone child" is just perfect, then it goes down hill.
Genuinely would have been more chilling if it was done by the dude who voiced The Beast in OTGW. The deepness and coldness to it would have made this speech incredible

The Lich is just my absolute favorite character, adventure time did the classic fantasy Lich better than anyone. Single word spells, the menacing voice, one liner after one liner, the character design, everything! It’s a shame that the fights aren’t tougher for Fin against him.
All consuming darkness followed by "F A L L ." has still gotta be one of hardest moments in animated fiction...
I like it better in the original. The silence made it feel darker, more alone

I think the best part about this whole speech is that he isn’t mad, he’s just matter of fact, and sees Finn as the literal child he is and more of a speed bump than someone to surpass Billy and be a real threat
The Silence does so well to create an air of Mystery and isolation, this is great but it doesnt give me the same feelings.

Honestly, the greatest disappointment of the show for me is that we never get this promise fulfilled. We never see the great and terrible army. Sweet Pea is this Chekov's Gun that never goes off... not even when war breaks out and Golb is at the battlefield. The Fiona and Cake scenes just highlights this further. If the Lich is such a worshipper of Golb, then where is he? Everything the Lich has ever wanted is right there: armies, war, Golb, and all.
Sweet Pea goes into lich mode when he sees fire, like in the Gold Star episode. Do they just never see fire again? They just kind of write this off with an "I won't be bad" and slaying an evil hand... too easy. I wonder what could have been if the finale wasn't rushed.
