The hidden narrative and sense of division being created by the Maori Party saddens me, as it is deepening the divide among us all. I want inclusion for all New Zealanders, and it is up to us our generation to drive change and shape the path ahead. By embracing this mindset, we can overcome these obstacles and create opportunities for ourselves and future generations.

Well said Shane, there were terrible events in our history, on both sides..think of the little village, near Hastings, which were attacked in the night as they slept... a settlement of 48 people mostly woman and children all slaughtered by TeKooti... Who then celebrated his deeds rolling in their blood and singing! You cannot cherry pick tragic events from history to suit your own agenda and not knowledge the fact that 92 settlers lost their lives at the hands of Maori extremists. Shane is correct we cannot re write history, we can only learn from it and move forward into the future and leave our poor ancestors to rest in peace. Move forward as one people and continue what our ancestors started, building our nation together.

Have you met one that has had a decent counter point yet? Because I sure as hell have not. When Shaun (I forget his last name, he runs The Platform show here on RUclips) went down to the Hikoi and interviewed people it seemed like none of them even knew why they were there, they just used the reason they were there to support their people, but for what reason? None of them could answer that, they were all left stumped for words.
If a "white person" said what Shane has said here, they would be attacked for being a racist. The fact that Shane is of Te Aupōuri and Ngāi Takoto descent as well as a bunch of British genes thrown in as well, gives him the unwritten right to "tell it like it is" which is refreshing. He knows, because he has a brain, that if the venom spouted by the maori party were actually true, the country would never have succeeded. The simple fact that NZ has been so successful, is a testament to the democratic system we operate under. If it slides any further towards apartheid, it could be catastrophic the same way it has happened in other countries that are literally falling apart right now.

Getting overseas investors is going to take years, which is not helped by opposition grinding things to a halt at every turn. Councils can hold up consents for as long as they dawmned well want, Greens will hold up things if they see one tree is going be cut down. If you want to keep making overseas countries rich then we can keep importing oil, coal, gas, food and leave kiwis without jobs, no ambition, sitting on the dole.....you'd like that would you?
