  • #loctips Anyone!? 👀
    .
    Ever got a loc detox and had super dry brittle Locs afterwards? Maybe even felt some dryness and experienced flaking on the scalp!!! Here’s why….
    .
    #bakingsoda and #applecidervinegar make for a great cleansing experience….but NEVER use them together.
    .
    An #unbalanced #ph of the #hair and #scalp can cause all of the issues mentioned above….plus some! ACV is taking the hair into an acidic environment while baking soda is alkaline! Yes it’s diluted….but why take the chance!?! #neutralize after detox

    Yea ok! I appreciate the “ why not to “ but you didn’t give us a “ what you should use “

      What should we use

    • @naturalNIBS
      @naturalNIBS  3 месяца назад +1

      @@Elivelovelaughlike I said all you really need is a good shampoo and time. Some new clients when the buildup is bad I’ll add shampoo to those areas before we even get to the shampoo bowl. But if you do use it…choose one or the other. Not both.

    My hair looked good after the last detox but now I know why my hair was so dry afterwards

    • @naturalNIBS
      @naturalNIBS  6 месяцев назад +4

      Yes indeed!!! It is very damaging to the hair and people don’t know. I loathe whoever started the trend. ❤🖖🏾

      @@naturalNIBS i used a clarifying shampoo and got it all in my locs and then used my normal shampoo afterwards and that got a lot of dirt out of my head so i might stick to that, thanks for making me aware cuz i thought this was the way to detox locs for years now

      @@voltagep1155nice! Glad I could help. Another tip for my new clients with buildup, you can put the shampoo on before you actually “soak or shampoo” your hair. I just add a bit to spots that are heavy to start the breakdown process. 💜🖖🏾

      Lol! Why Ty, I’m glad you got out unscathed. If we use the right products (really all you need is oil) and still do regular shampoos you should never need to detox your locs.

      Yesss! The Detox to me ain’t nothing but a deep clean.
      I soak & shampoo as many times as I need to.

    I seen an informative video some years ago from GreenBeauty talking about the chemical reaction of both baking soda and acv. Here’s the link : ruclips.net/video/mtA6iSlDGnk/видео.html
    I stopped using baking soda and acv in my hair all together. She said you can use it on the scalp once or twice a year, but try to avoid getting them on the hair strains.

      Ty and yessss!!! Sometimes people feel they need it. Sometimes clients do need because the buildup is soooo bad. One or the other but certainly NOT BOTH! I try to teach habits that avoid the need for a detox all together.

    What are you soaking the hair in?

    • @naturalNIBS
      @naturalNIBS  Год назад +14

      Sorry I’m so late. It’s literally just water, shampoo, tea tree, and baking soda. I do that several times until I see no dirt in the water.

      How hot should the water be? I have color as well

    • @naturalNIBS
      @naturalNIBS  Год назад +4

      @@Beautyforashes227 again, sorry I’m late. You can make the water as hawt as you can stand it. With color, since the hotter the water the quicker the color fades….you wanna stay more warm than hot. I would also recommend using a color care shampoo for your bath vs a Clarifying or Moisturizing shampoo.
      But again, shampoo regularly and use lightweight products or oil only. Should never need a detox.

      Good advice, glad I came across your video. Using one or the other sounds logical, for me it will be the Baking Soda since I don’t like the smell of Vinegar😂
