"In the US we dismiss BTS rappers because we see them as pop", Korean rappers dismissed BTS rappers for the same reason. RM and SUGA were making names for them selves in the Korean Hip-hop scene when they were teenagers, then they signed onto a label and agreed to be part of a group that was focused on hip-hop but in the same fashion as idol groups. People who thought they were the end all and be all of Korean rap were telling them that joining and idol group automatically declassified them as rappers. BTS didn't take those criticisms laying down, they turned them on their heads and released their cyphers and mixtapes, they let their talent do the fighting for them. And the thing that I love about BTS is they don't single anyone out in their lyrics, these grudges don't mean as much to them as their music does.
I'd use past tense for the Korean rappers: Both Tiger JK (from MFBTY and Drunken Tiger) and the men of Epik High admire/are friends with/worked with the rap line, specifically more RM and Suga. I think it was Tablo who let fans teach him how to stream Butter (?) a few month ago (also talked about eating the BTS meal multiple times) because hearing the song on loop was going to get the views deleted.
there isn't really a "best" rapper in the group. all three are equally talented, they just have their own strengths and specialities. the leader position in k-pop doesn't function quite the same as what you see in western groups. RM has the personality for leadership and he joined the group early. he was chosen because he was the best fit, not because he was the best rapper.
I appreciate you being subjective here but with rap one cannot not be objective. Obviously all three of them are talented af but one might be better than the another when it comes to technique, flow and rhythm. It doesn’t mean one is weaker at all. Singing, dancing, rapping all comes with objective critics. It not a bad thing at ll.
@@indielove_2433 yes agree, one must be good in something that other not, that's why they always help each other to improve themselves & appreciate eachother's work. I remember when RM wrote a letter supporting SUGA's 1st album AGUSTD, same goes to Jhope too. They always there for eachother 💜
@@indielove_2433 Well, true. Each have different strengths in the skill sets. They are probably THE BEST rapline in kpop (not Korean rap or R&B, but within the idol scene itself). Separately, each has a different sound and makes solo music that displays his talents the best. As a trio, while performing, they do an excellent job of supporting each other and making sure to step back and let the others shine. There's great chemistry and teamwork in place. I especially LOVE to see Jhope taking on that hype man position when it's not his turn. He is always ON. The other two may have better flow and speed, but he's got an energy and presence that helps enhance the performance. It's a great rapline.

This type of music by BTS always existed. From their debute in 2013 to their last album ‘BE’ (which was released in Nov 2020, after dynamite). I don’t think it’s fair of you to say “US is getting watered down version” it is just US is not looking past it, not even giving a chance to their 98% Korean discography. When they are releasing the same albums there too , if people refuse to look past stereotypes and language how come it’s their fault. Like they released English song in last one year only and they are popular in west since 2017. Don’t take this in a wrong way but, before this you also refused to look past own prejudices here of large female following and ‘boy band’. People love to put things in boxes including media. It’s like someone makes pop, have ‘crazy’ teen fans automatically they are bad. If only people did the same with sports fans lol You should check out All cyphers chronologically. Try DDaeng next
I couldn't say it better. This is exactly the thing. The fact that the west isn't even listening to their korean tracks before judging them is so disappointing to me. BE just came out last year and it's being ignored as if it doesn't even exist. What people only see are the 3 English singles. It took me a month after being a fan to know that BE even existed and when I listened to it, I was so surprised as to why more people aren't talking about it.
I get what you mean, but I think Bts could try to show a different side themselves. They performed Fake Love, Dna, Boy with love and now Butter and Dynamite. And even tho I love these songs, I don't get why they didn't perform Diyonisus or Mic Drop at an American event, making a big entrance (I love that they did Black Swan and On on James Corden). I just love it when the West gets overwhelmed and hypnotized by Bts. But at least we now what our Boys are capable of :)
RM, J-Hope, and Suga all have solo music. J-hope has Hope World, RM has RM and Mono (which is a masterpiece), and Suga has Agust D and D-2, which is also a masterpiece! i highly recommend you check out their mixtapes!
BTS don’t need the ‘break up’ for a little bit to do solo projects. They have artistic freedom and they release their own solo songs and still be part of the band. All of them are genuinely supportive of each other’s solo music, You were correct when you said you don’t listen to this type of Kpop music in the US simply because US radio is xenophobic and racist, they won’t play BTS songs unless they are sang in english. BTS korean songs are sooooooo much better. After you finish these cypher series, please react to the cypher medley. It will blow your mind, how they sound way better live than the recording.
This Cypher is also called Triptych because of the use of three distinct beats. Also it is worthy noting this is 2014 so this Cypher was released about a year after the group's debut. The "rap line" has released a number of songs over the years. I think you would enjoy "Ugh" (2020) which is quite hard and has a fairly deep message which many misinterpret. The Cypher 2 message was actually not overly complex. Idol rappers can be great rappers so despite our incorporation in the Idol platform our rap is so far superior to that of you judgmental stereotyping critics that perhaps you should shut up including shutting down the low level rap you spit.
You need to know that in a single BTS album you get different sounds and genre. You eill get hard rap hip hop, rock, ballads, r&b. Whatever standards and stereotype you have about boybands does not apply to BTS and their discography. They are multi talented group writing and producing their own music. You get rap line songs, vocal line songs, group songs, solo songs, subunit songs inone album. Different sounds and it is so dynamic. People always say ARMY is huge and diverae. They should start asking the question WHY? This is why. They have sonething for everyone.
BTS don't discriminate when it comes to genres of music. They don't look down on pop music. They love and are open to music. And to them music is the vehicle to carry their messages. Butter, Dynamite and PTD all are part of their discography, part of their ongoing messages. If not so much in lyrics (English is hard for them, RM himself is not native speaker, come on), then in energy or atmosphere. 'ARMYs' who trash their poppier songs clearly do not know BTS well enough and have a bad habit of projecting their own perceptions of what BTS should be. BTS can explore whatever genre they want! 2nd BTS are no longer angry teenagers. They are clearly at peace. Those who kept missing their old stuff maybe think abt how it is you that is stuck emotionally and can't move on while BTS have grown way way pass all their issues and looking forward to new things. 3rd their vocal line also have grown into themselves as artists. BTS music direction will of course evolved now to include all 7. Whey debuted it was rapline that took the lead in music direction. BTS chose the positive instead of wallowing in ansty anger. Just listen to old stuff on Spotify stop expecting them to be dark when they clearly much prefer to support their fans with uplifting, positive music especially during pandemic.
I think you would love BTS’s song “Hip Hop Phile” since the lyrics have a lot of references. BTS actually started off as a hip hop collective until they branched out into a lot of different genres. They still have a lot of hip hop influences in their newer music. For example their songs “UGH!,” and “Dis-ease” are hip hop songs. UGH! is drill while Dis-ease is more boom bap/old school mixed with some vocals and a sick bridge :)
OT7 Stan here...for me personally there is no such a thing as the best rapper - all 3 rappers are unique in what they bring to BTS - same goes for the vocal line💜
I was not expecting to hear straight heat from a guy who I thought was the asian version of Drake 🔥 These guys are genuinely skilled and definitely better than a portion of big american rappers
2 of the rappers were underground rappers, and rm worked with Warren G and wale. Also TM88 and teddy Walton, sent in some hip hop beats , so maybe some new cyphers or rap heavy tracks will be out on next album. They usually have at least one or two hip hop heavy tracks on each album. But the group did start out as a hip hop group before expanding to different genres years later
The #1 reason people *LOVE* and respect BTS so much *IS THEIR LYRICS* ... so for the love of God, pleaaaaaase pay attention to them. Especially if you ever move onto the heavier stuff that isn't about putting haters in their place, like UGH! or Shadow or Tear. Their lyrics is where the true artistic genius lies.
Suga and RM were both underground rappers before they joined BTS. Suga even almost left the group because he was under the impression they were gonna be a Hip Hip group and when he found out they were gonna be K pop he basically was like " aww nah" lol.
I would say all three rappers are the best in their own right. RM is the best with word play and lyricism, Suga is the fastest and tends to have the most aggressive rap style, and J-Hope has a flow and energy that nobody else can truly match. I'd say if you watched one of their live rap stages you'd easily see the different ways they all stand out.
this is technically k-rap. k-pop stands for korean pop music (which is/can be different from idol music). there's also k-r&b, k-rock etc. I think it's important to distinguish these different genres to promote accuracy since it's so common to pigeonhole every sound coming out of korea as k-pop.
You may like this now... mark my word, you will change your mind, you are yet to uncover their talents... just keep doing BTS! And yes each of them have their solo mixtape... do check them out
They are everything: idols, rappers, dancers, singers, cute, sexy incredibly talented young men that worked insanely hard for their dreams. I suporte the idea of the rap line doing a complete álbum. It would be a dream!!
Suga's solo music is under Agust D He has some songs called Daechwita and Agust D I really can't wait for you to react to more bts and skz just Kpop in general lol
Cypher pt. 2 is hard!!! People who never knew that BTS raplines can rap are always surprised by it. Each rapper in BTS has their own style which even makes that so unique about that 💜. Please keep digging into BTS’ music and message!
I'm @ 0:43 and I'm soooo excited.... You amazed me on how fast your ears to pick-up the lines in a rap song thru EZ MIL & how rich your knowledge & understanding the message behind it... Being an ARMY I wanted you to listen to BTS music & react on them too, especially on their rap songs... then here we are, there is always the right timing for everything!
BTS Rapline is the best in K pop and hip hop arena, and one of the bests in the whole world's music sector.. They are killing all kind of flows.. Especially our SUGA is a weapon really, he is a ballistic rocket who everyone, every company wishes
The rap line all have solo mixtapes, though all the members have released solo music outside of bts official songs. RM and Suga have two each while J-Hope has one. RM and mono for RM Agust D and D-2 for Suga Hope World for J-Hope Suga's alternate name is Agust D which is DT Suga spelled backwards. DT stands for Daegu Town. Daegu is where Suga is from and Daegu Town is also the underground hip hop group suga was in before joining bighit.
Fun fact: BTS held a speech (for the third time) at the SDG at UN GA (United Nations General Assambly) on Monday in New York and (because it was a message of hope in the name of the global youth) performed "Permission to Dance" in the building and in front of it (it is inclusive + sign language). They are only the 6th artist to do so (two others being Beyoncé and Shakira). It is online.
oh boiiii then you're in for a ride. ;) their b-side tracks alone could be title tracks. usually, the title track is a lil more on the radio-friendly (not a bad thing). but, your taste will perhaps lean on the b-sides. ;) there's cypher pt 3 and cypher pt 4, in case you wanna see. also, some more rapline songs are outro tear, ugh, ddaeng, baepsae. they have 300+ songs out there, just saying. 💜
The first one rapper / intro is supreme boi..He is bighit/hybe producer..He supposed to be BTS member when Bighit create BTS to be hip-hop group with 5 member/rapper but then bighit change BTS into KPop idol so he choose to be only producer
SUGA🔥 he was undeground rapper and producer before joining BTS. You should check out his self-produced mixtapes "Agust D" and "D-2", which he releases under name Agust D. "D-2" is the most streamed album by a Korean soloist
I like how he is describing the pop music here that it's watered down kpop and saying that it's like butter and Samsung commercials. the fact that bts has the song "butter" AND are in he Samsung commercials is funny asf 😂
When you listen to Ddaeng, also check out DKDKTV's explanation of the lyrics. If I remember correctly, ddaeng has seven different possible meanings and they use them all in the song. They have explanation videos for several others as well.
You need to listen to cypher 4 😉 RM has got a Solo album called Mono and also Suga got solo stuff out too! Suga is one of the biggest producers in Korea he works on a lot of other projects on the side and so does RM. Suga originally wanted to only become a music producer and not a musician as such. Once he revealed in a conversation that he wrote around 300 songs in a year…..
Every time I see Suga’s name spelled Sugar, I know its auto correct. But dang, it always reminds me of the Bangtan Bomb behind the scene of the MV Idol where someone labeled his jacket Sugar.😂😂😂 And he was whining about it. 🤪🤪
I really wish BTS would bring out a hip hop / rap comeback as their main title tracks . Show the USA what this “korean boyband “ can do. Last track we got that went hard was Mic drop . Yes I realize we also had fake love , black swan and on kinda somewhat but still I want that hip hop rap vibe to kill off all the kpop / bts haters and western media . America ain’t never seen BTS at their full potential on American tv . Only if you watch their korean music award performance . I wish they also released a more Diss tracks but attacking people giving them homophobic hate and insults from the western countries . And I still waiting on agust d album. Aka Suga 3rd/ D-3 album .
I agree that we are getting watered down versions and it saddens me. What's becoming very popular lately is the english and high pop songs but I feel like that really perpetuates the stereotype of fans being '15 year old girls.' We're all ages and there's been real shit in their discography but that isn't exposed to the public unless someone buys an album. But if we get watered down, why would they?
Fun Fact: the fastest rapper in BTS is actually the lead singer, Jungkook at 10.75 sps (syllables per second). This is also the 4th fastest Korean rapper. Fastest is Outsider at 16.25 sps. Suga is at 9.38 sps and RM is at 9.25 sps.
You probably would never have heard this if it wasn't for Butter or those Samsung ads. Those songs are here for a reason :D They are here to create a hype and on the other side they are feel good songs. Those who get interested can dive deeper and find the hidden gems.
Yes all rappers of bts have a released a mixtape, suga aka agusD , rm and jhope with hopeworld.. and every album bts members have solo songs, and unit group like song all rappers and vocalist and sometimes unit groups with two or three members.. Cypher is 1to 4.. thanks for reaction
I like how he said 'their rapper rappers' Rap lines solo work: RM's Joke, Suga AKA Agust D's(DT Suga spelled backwards) self titled track, J-Hope's Daydream.
PLEASE LISTEN TO ALL CYPHERS, OUTRO: TEAR, UGH, DDAENG!! Rap line has solo mixtapes as well, they’re sooo good. SUGA’s alter ego Agust D even spits crazier bars, flow and cadence even crazier. Check out Daechwita and all his mixtapes Agust D & D-2. RM’s mono and Jhope’s HopeWorld are sick too! All BTS songs are awesome!! Welcome and enjoy their wide discography!!
Ooh m interested in your reactions to the rapline solo stuff. Looking forward to it!!! You are definitely in for a happy surprise, considering you had been on the other side of music where anything other than mainstream western music is watered down as you put it. On that note, I wanna say, BTS is their own genre. I wouldn’t put them in one. They won’t fit. You can’t fit BTS into a box. Their discography is too diverse and versatile AND they make it work perfectly with their authenticity, dedication and passion. Happy BTS journey to you, m sure you’ll enjoy :)
All 3 of them have their own solo mixtapes Suga have 2 mixtapes under his solo name Agust D called "Agust D" and "D-2" . RM also have 2 solo mixtapes "RM" and "MONO". Meanwhile J-Hope have one called "Hope World" All of them (including vocal line) also have their own solo songs in their album as BTS started from "WINGS" Rap Line solo from BTS's album Suga - First Love,Seesaw,Interlude:Shadow RM - Reflection,Love,Intro:Persona J-Hope - MAMA,Just Dance,Outro:Ego
actually, it's only BTS that went this hard because they were literally pissed off at the underground rappers that insulted them for being k-pop. BTS is the only k-pop group that had the confidence and ability to put the underground rappers in their place with aggressive lyrics. As you can see, they dragged them through the mud in the lyrics and other k-pop groups would not dare do that.
I am waiting for more rapline reactions, I know u will enjoy those a lot. Maybe chech these out: -Ugh! -Outro: tear -Ddaeng And if u wanna check out solo songs from the rapline: - Joke by RM - Daechwita by Agust D (Suga) - Airplane or Daydream by J-Hope
Our precious rap line got their solo projects, but they're still BTS as a group. That's the kind of creative freedom they have. Check out their FREE content on SoundCloud. 💜
Suga POPS OFF in Cypher pt. 3! You need to check out all the cyphers, ddaeng, ugh and tear for sure! Also their solo work like RM’s Joke, Suga’s Daechwita and Agust D and J-Hope’s Airplane! Basically all their mixtapes are fire! BTS’ older music was much grungier and dirtier overall! I agree with you about them watering down their music for the US which I don’t quite understand since they are so much more talented than that!

They are amazing but suga he’s my fav he’s best influence.. genius.. songwriter.. producer..composer.. multitalented..masterpiece.. king swag.. rap god.. fast rapper.. korean eminem 😍🥰🔥🤩💜
I'm glad you found the Cyphers. I hope you'll react to more of BTS rap line's work. Ugh, Ddaeng, Outro: Tear, Joke, Agust D, Base Line, 1Verse, oh too many.

You should check Outro: Tear and Ugh, also Cypher medley live! Their best tracks!
My fav is Suga as most people are, that man is something else
You may like this now... mark my word, you will change your mind, you are yet to uncover their talents... just keep doing BTS!
And yes each of them have their solo mixtape... do check them out
You definitely need to watch the cypher medley live video of the 4 cyphers. They're amazing live on the stage!!
The only genre people should be interested in if u wanna know bts is Open Mindedness ! That's enough! Gud reaction!
Yes RM has Solo Music. He has his own MIXTAPE named RM and MONO
Suga is AWESOME! 😎
They have their own individual work.
Suga goes by Agust D.
They are everything: idols, rappers, dancers, singers, cute, sexy incredibly talented young men that worked insanely hard for their dreams. I suporte the idea of the rap line doing a complete álbum. It would be a dream!!
Suga's solo music is under Agust D
He has some songs called Daechwita and Agust D
I really can't wait for you to react to more bts and skz just Kpop in general lol
Cypher pt. 2 is hard!!! People who never knew that BTS raplines can rap are always surprised by it. Each rapper in BTS has their own style which even makes that so unique about that 💜. Please keep digging into BTS’ music and message!
They all three have solo music. You will not be disappointed.
I'm @ 0:43 and I'm soooo excited.... You amazed me on how fast your ears to pick-up the lines in a rap song thru EZ MIL & how rich your knowledge & understanding the message behind it... Being an ARMY I wanted you to listen to BTS music & react on them too, especially on their rap songs... then here we are, there is always the right timing for everything!
i've been watching so much peeps reacting to cypher 2,And all of 'em eyes almost fell at Suga's part bc of suprise
"these dudes are RAPPER Rappers".....yesssss their background would not allow them to be anything but. They are legit all the way.
BTS Rapline is the best in K pop and hip hop arena, and one of the bests in the whole world's music sector.. They are killing all kind of flows.. Especially our SUGA is a weapon really, he is a ballistic rocket who everyone, every company wishes
Yes. I could listen to Suga all day. He's brilliant.
The rap line all have solo mixtapes, though all the members have released solo music outside of bts official songs.
RM and Suga have two each while J-Hope has one.
RM and mono for RM
Agust D and D-2 for Suga
Hope World for J-Hope
Suga's alternate name is Agust D which is DT Suga spelled backwards.
Those three have solo albums, and solo mvs also
The first one rapper / intro is supreme boi..He is bighit/hybe producer..He supposed to be BTS member when Bighit create BTS to be hip-hop group with 5 member/rapper but then bighit change BTS into KPop idol so he choose to be only producer
You need to listen to cypher 4 😉
RM has got a Solo album called Mono and also Suga got solo stuff out too! Suga is one of the biggest producers in Korea he works on a lot of other projects on the side and so does RM. Suga originally wanted to only become a music producer and not a musician as such. Once he revealed in a conversation that he wrote around 300 songs in a year…..
All three are great rappers but Suga is my favorite. You should react to Outro Tear live. They are great.
Every time I see Suga’s name spelled Sugar, I know its auto correct. But dang, it always reminds me of the Bangtan Bomb behind the scene of the MV Idol where someone labeled his jacket Sugar.😂😂😂 And he was whining about it. 🤪🤪
@@stefani745 Fixed it. First time I spelled it wrong
@@norma524 no worries. I was just having a laugh from my memories from the bangtan bomb episode. I love those clips.
Aka Suga 3rd/ D-3 album .
every rapper always when they hear bts rapline: "these dudes are RAPPER rappers" hahaha, i love it
“I feel like there is a need to be a rap album with just BTS’ rappers” SIR!! WE’VE BEEN WANTING THAT ALBUM TO THIS DAY!!
We need more about BTS rap line !! 🔥
BTS "Cypher Medley 2018 " It has the best verse of the first three cyphers and then full performance of Cypher 4
My world's have collided and I cannot be more happy, TheThirdErnest and BTS, WIN!!! 🎊🎊🎉🎉
Suga is at 9.38 sps and RM is at 9.25 sps.
when the rapline goes all in i dont considere this kpop but k-rap
Exactly these guys are 'rapper' rappers😆👍
You should check cypher 3,4 live performance. That's so crazy
I've been requesting you to listen to their raps since forever and I'm here for it. Yassss! B
I like how he said 'their rapper rappers'
Rap lines solo work: RM's Joke, Suga AKA Agust D's(DT Suga spelled backwards) self titled track, J-Hope's Daydream.
Can't wait to see their live performance.. top notch👌
React to Daechwita by Agust D (Suga) if you like his rapping style. A full on cinematic movie music video.
I completely agree with you, I also expect an entire rap line album, and a rap line world tour. we absolutly need that 💜💜
All 3 of them have their own solo mixtapes
Suga have 2 mixtapes under his solo name Agust D called "Agust D" and "D-2" . RM also have 2 solo mixtapes "RM" and "MONO". Meanwhile J-Hope have one called "Hope World"
All of them (including vocal line) also have their own solo songs in their album as BTS started from "WINGS"
Rap Line solo from BTS's album
Suga - First Love,Seesaw,Interlude:Shadow
RM - Reflection,Love,Intro:Persona
J-Hope - MAMA,Just Dance,Outro:Ego
They were so savage on this because its dedicated specially to someone they totally hate..
RM and Suga were underground rappers long before they joined BTS. Both have produced and write their own lyrics since teenagers
actually, it's only BTS that went this hard because they were literally pissed off at the underground rappers that insulted them for being k-pop. BTS is the only k-pop group that had the confidence and ability to put the underground rappers in their place with aggressive lyrics. As you can see, they dragged them through the mud in the lyrics and other k-pop groups would not dare do that.
Thanks for the reaction 😊 if you like to react to more of the rap line i would recommend you react to outro: tear live !!! And thanks again !!!!
I will never rest until we get a rapline concert
I am waiting for more rapline reactions, I know u will enjoy those a lot. Maybe chech these out:
-Ugh!
-Outro: tear
-Ddaeng
And if u wanna check out solo songs from the rapline:
- Joke by RM
- Daechwita by Agust D (Suga)
- Airplane or Daydream by J-Hope
Cypher Medley live and Outro: Tear live are insane. 🤭
Ayee! I recommended this in your last video!! I'm so excited for this
Love those purple lights in the background 💜
Our precious rap line got their solo projects, but they're still BTS as a group. That's the kind of creative freedom they have. Check out their FREE content on SoundCloud. 💜
"I'm guessing that's jhope" yes lol and it literally shows the members names too 😂
Claro que si, los 3 raperos tienen sus mixtapes tienes que escucharlos son tremendas joyas
Can we just take a moment to appreciate his dad! A kpop fan/Stan go paps
cypher 2 is one of my favorite
Thank you for your reaction, I'm glad that with each passing day you discover more and more BTS music. But to better understand the BTS group watch, if possible and want to react to "An introduction to the 7 members of BTS (2021 update)" or "The Most Beautiful Life Goes On: A Story of BTS (2021 Update!) "
Shoutout to Lily for doing the work for us
Next is Daechwita mv by Suga.
React to all cypher parts pwease then ddaeng and ugh💜
You have to react to Agust D '대취타' MV. You can also just look up the same video with the word Daechwita. It is by Suga of BTS. His solo name is Agust D. Amazing rapping and the video is the quality of a well made move.
I hope you also react on their first songs or mvs from 8 years ago. You will be shocked on the versatility of this group.
You gotta check out the entire cypher series along sith BTS - Ugh and Ddaeng
They are amazing but suga he’s my fav he’s best influence.. genius.. songwriter.. producer..composer.. multitalented..masterpiece.. king swag.. rap god.. fast rapper.. korean eminem 😍🥰🔥🤩💜
J-hope prepared the meal
Rm ate
And suga devoured
They are all such good rappers 😭❤
Brilliant reaction this was awesome thanku so much love and God bless x
I'm glad you found the Cyphers. I hope you'll react to more of BTS rap line's work. Ugh, Ddaeng, Outro: Tear, Joke, Agust D, Base Line, 1Verse, oh too many.
You should check out Outro: Tear!
Thank you for your reaction, there is so much more BTS rap out there for you. Enjoy🙂
Yes there are solo BTS rappers projects.
AGUST D by SUGA
HOPE WORLD by J-HOPE
RM by RM
They have their MIXTAPES... You better check them out.
