Wow this was a very nice video. I was debating on the Panasonic 35 - 100. Totally sold me on it. Your daughter did a great job as well. Bravo sir bravo.
Thanks you so much IML Productions...really appreciate it! Yeah my little girl was so good and very patient when I asked her to repeat things! The Panasonic Lumix 35-100mm is a fantastic lens and you can't really go wrong with it. Making this video made me realise I hadn't been using it to it's full potential beforehand. If you do end up buying it from Amazon, please consider using my links as I'd get a small commission ;)
Great video mate! Really love the shots you got and the edit you put together. Really good use of the foreground elements to add depth in the shots and its true its a great lens for that kind of shoot when you wanna isolate the subject from the surroundings. Also your daughter did so well! She's a natural in front of the camera. You explain things really clear and concisely so its very easy to understand. Bought you a flat white mate, keep it up!
Cheers mate...that means a lot! It was nice to go out and try something new. I'd seen these types of shots on TV shows and movies, so it was nice to recreate them. I think I might now try some of them out at weddings, if I can squeeze some time away from the togs 😂! Yeah, Luciana was amazing! She was so good at listening and patient with multiple takes. Her only demand was a Kinder egg at the end of it. Thanks for the flat white ☕️...my first coffee purchase so gonna enjoy it 😉! Ben
Thanks Daniel. Yeah, I think she's cute too but I guess I would 😂! My wife was a big help with this shoot at well. Greetings to you too! Hope you had a nice Christmas and best wishes for the new year 😀🎉!
love it!!! your daughter did a great job. Too cute lol she's a star in the making. I was thinking of getting the 35-100mm. This may have sold me on it. Great job
Thanks Huddie! I'd definitely agree about my daughter, even though I'm massively biased 🤣! The 35-100 is a great lens for micro four thirds so you'd definitely enjoy it. Whilst I've since switched to full-frame and enjoy a lot of things about it, I really miss all these dinky little lenses! Can potentially see myself getting a G80 replacement if they ever release one with the new PDAF technology.
Great video. I'm half considering the Oly 75mm for my EM5ii. Its not the sort of focal length I'd norm use but like you implied its great to use a wide range of focal lengths. Also its sooo sharp that I think you can crop and have fine images still from this lens making it (kind of) like a 75-150+ in a small package with an f1/8 aperture, so super versatile. All the best, Rich.
Hey Richard. So glad you enjoyed it! I completely agree that the Olympus lens produces gorgeous visuals that are tack sharp! I'd say it's one of the sharpest lenses I own and up there with the Canon 135mm f2, which I also love. I'll try and post some of the photos I've taken onto our Instagram account too if you're interested? I've only got one BTS photo on there at the moment so it's about time I gave it some attention 😬😂!
Hey Sean. Sorry for the slow reply! Tripod head is the Manfrotto MVH500AH and you'll find out about the quick mount system in this video here. ruclips.net/video/M8zDK2hQmp4/видео.html Hope that helps 😃
Thanks for the sub dude! I've just switched my Instagram to a new name @thecamerageeks. There's not much there at the moment but please follow because I'm giving it a big push moving forwards :)
Thanks my friend! It's a fantastic lens. Let me know how you find it! In terms of colour grading, I usually apply a bit more contrast using an 'S curve' and I also boost the saturation. I'll try and do a colour grading tutorial on the next month or so if you'd find it helpful?
I’ll be honest…I’ve never used the 14-140mm but I know it’s a very well regarded lens. However, I’d still stick with the 35-100 for the constant aperture value.
Thanks for the sub! Yeah, my little girl is cute and very funny too! She stole the show on this video. How you getting on with eh 35-100? I just saw a bit of the wedding video on your channel and the visuals look lovely! Where in the UK are you from?
Love it. I was thinking of renting the Gh5 this week + 35-100mm (just to try something new besides Canon) and this video review helped me gather some much-needed info!
Hey Mike. Yes it's a fantastic lens that I think is often overlooked by many! Thanks for your kind words about my daughter too...she's a fab little actress and very patient!
Thanks Daniel, really appreciate it! I was using the natural profile and you'll find the setting in this video...ruclips.net/video/u9CUV8NuC8k/видео.html
G9, with the stated synchronization shutter speed of 1/250, the real 1/500 with a fur shutter, with an electronic first shutter - 1/640. At 2.8 aperture, you no longer need to wind up the ND filter
Obrigado Ricardo pelas suas amáveis palavras! Não falo português, mas falo espanhol e algumas das palavras são bastante semelhantes. Estou usando o Google Translator minha resposta, então ... 🤞🏻🤣!
Hey Hank. I tend to grade each shoot 'manually' rather than with luts. I imagine that I copied and pasted the grades from one clip to another though. I'll check the file next time I'm on my Mac.
Another great video Ben, thank you! It's funny because I have just purchased the 35-100mm F2.8 a month ago, so far I'm really happy with it. My wife is going to help me on some of the weddings as a second shooter so we needed a native lens that is great with auto focus and has a far reach so she would not need to get in the middle of the actions, it will be used on a G7 in 4k 30fps. Your daughter is super cute! :)
Hey Bence! I hope you are well dude! Thanks for your kind words...we had a lot of fun making this one and I agree that my little girl is cute...but I might be slightly biased 😂! Yes, the Lumix 35-100mm f/2.8 is pretty much perfect for weddings! Same as you, we use it for the parts where we need to shoot from far away, like the ceremony and speeches. Making this video made me realise it could be a great option for the couple shoot too. Have you had chance to try it out at a wedding yet?
@@CameraGeeks Yes we would also like to use it for the couple shots, I would be on the Sigma 18-35mm and my wife on the 35-100mm, it should be a great combination. Unfortunately we haven't had the chance to try the 35-100mm in live action, our closest booking is in the spring :/
Great Video BEN!!! hey.. What do you thing about the Sigma 16mm, 30mm and 56mm 1.4 for M43... Do you used anything something? Saludos Form Guadalajara Mexico.
Muchas Gracias Ignacio Mena! La verdad es que no he usado los lentes nativos de Sigma en GH5. Solo he usado mi Sigma 18-35mm con Metabones. Me imagino que son muy buenas porque Sigma tiene una reputación muy alta y ademas he leído muchas recomendaciones sobre estas lentes en Internet. Un gran abrazo de Inglaterra! Ben
Bless her, she's adorable. I love my 35-100. Typically use them for ceremony headshots and speeches but interesting to see this being used differently like this. Great content as always, thanks for posting!
Thanks Mitchelson...hope you're well! Yeah, love her to bits 🥰! You're right, the Lumix 35-100mm is such an amazing lens...I'd been using it for the same reasons. It's also a great lens for grabbing a ton of casual shots of people chatting and drinking very quickly without them realising! I sometimes use it to cover my back and make sure I've captured everyone who was there, even if just with a brief shot.
I think we are all guilty of using a wide lens, but with the added bounce of IBIS and lens stability even the Panasonic 100-300mm lens can be used handheld. Great content as always.
Thanks Gary :D Yeah, it's amazing how well the IBIS and IS lock work even on a long non-stabilised lens like the Olympus 75mm (150mm equivalent). Wow, I've never used anything as long as the Lumix 100-300mm. The fact it can still be used at the equivalent of 600mm is pretty astonishing 😲!
@@CameraGeeks I mainly use it to video swimmers who are approximately 75 to 100m away, that’s was the main reason for purchasing it, put it on a monopod and it’s perfect.
Good video! My daughter looks like her dad. 35-100 is the best lens, much better than Olympus 75, as sigma 56 mm, and also much better than Olympus 75. I shot at Olympus, sold it and am very happy. the film about the daughter was shot well, but you need less shooting with your hands, you have a good tripod. A small walk of the camera (which is now commonly called "breathing") makes it difficult to call the video professional. But at the same time it is professional, according to the picture, and according to the installation.
such a cute girl helping her dad with work. God bless her.

Your timing is impeccable! Every time I have a wedding to shoot you post a video and it inspires me! Keep up the good and creative work!

What’s lutz did you use for color grading the video?
Hi Juan. I don't really use luts. I just colour grade by eye using curves and saturation adjustments in Final Cut Pro.
Great video. Really enjoyed that. Thanks.
