    I’m surprised you didn’t mention Ikawa Cafe restaurant. It’s owned by African Americans from Atlanta, the Muhammad’s.

      Yes the Brother and his wife Adilah are very welcoming and supportive! I lived in Kigali and find their place to be a home away from home. “Atlanta” As always thanks for sharing.

    I have heard from several South Africans who have moved to Rwanda as they feel safer there - what are you thoughts on safety and how it compares between the 2 countries?
    As with most things, I imagine the more money you have, the safer one could make themselves.

      In kigali or rwanda doesnt really matter where you stay or how rich you are its generally safe the worst that could happen is pick pocketting but its really safe that you could go for a run at 3am

      I live in both countries . In terms of safety you can't even compare both countries. They often say that SA crime stats are comparable to war zone countries or some central american country (those with drug/gang problems) . Easy to find out by yourself

    • @Koiva232
      @Koiva232 2 года назад

      @@xena6894 I am aware of the stats but I was asking for someone's lived experiences...do you feel safer in Rwanda?

    • @xena6894
      @xena6894 2 года назад

      @@Koiva232 Ok. I see. Yes I feel very much safer in Rw than SA. There are "no-go " zone in Kigali or Rwanda unlike SA where some places you go at your own risks , but there are nice safe wealthy western-like levels of areas in SAs big cities or communities (if you can afford gated communities with private security) . I can walk at night in most areas I have been in Kigali. I have to switch from being constantly alert in public space/ open spaces to relax enjoy the surroundings when am in Kigali (not easy haha!) . When I am in SA it's another complete stories. Long stories to narrate here . Also working in Healthcare in SA, I see a lot of victims and hear sometimes about their stories in the communities they live in . But as you know no city is 100 % safe in the world , Kigali still have some small petty thefts/robberies. Kampala , Nairobi as well . But in SAs we are talking about violent /armed robberies.

      @@xena6894 thanks for the response! Since you brought up Nairobi, what was your experience there? Comparing the 3 places, would you rank Kigali #1, Nairobi #2 and SA #3 in safety ?
