  • I recently had a subscriber reach out to me regarding my 2004 Lincoln Town Car. I have NOT been trying to actively sell the car, but anything is for sale for the right price.
    I've gotten numerous offers since I've purchased this Lincoln town car and none of them have really grabbed my attention until the other day when I was offered $17,000. Although I love this town car, it's hard for me to ignore the possibility of taking the $17,000 and getting something else in the meantime.
    This Lincoln Town Car has been nothing but good to me and also currently has very low mileage at about 37,000 miles but slowly going up as I do daily drive this car.
    What do you guys think? Should I take the $17,000 and run? Or should I keep it? I've also thought about the idea of putting the car up on Bring a trailer and letting the highest bidder take it. Is there any other potential offers out there? Drop a comment or email me!

    In December 22 on bring a trailer a 10 signature L with 6000 miles sold for 60500 and an 03 regular town car went for 45000 with 3500 miles people worldwide are finally understanding these panther cars it's to bad it took this long now that it's harder to find them they last a half a million miles with minor care. I remember when you could order them new people would say they are Landyachts or grandpa car but the test of time shows there quality compared to the competitors back then only some Lexus or Honda accords of that time you may still see on the road.

    Close friends with Rich aka FordBossMe. And you got a clean one for sure.
    I’d say do what ever your heart desires.
    I know I have my 04 ultimate and have put 45k miles on it in about just over 2 years. Found it because of Rich.
    Nothing else like it.
    But, I can see what the temptation or even the common sense of “I can make money off this”.
    You can. And maybe you should or shouldn’t. All up to you.
    Car is close to perfect and will bring a good amount over what you spent either way. But, would you rather enjoy and drive and own it for as long as you want?

    I knew when you said you got it in that condition for 10k that’s an irresistible flip. A good detail and list it for 22k. That’s why the 17k offer is reasonable wholesale. You can definitely get 7-12k over what you paid for it

    I know a kid who used to drive a similar style Lexus from my neighborhood when he was 16 he’d drive me around a lot!! Maybe that’s an option!

    money is just paper. but a sedan on a frame is the best concept for a quality ride. Pickup trucks are also on frame, but you can't relax in them. Also, this is the last car from the 2000s that has a friendly, “human” face, and not the sour, aggressive grimace of modern cars. Town car is the last representative of baroque in automotive design.

    Hey Nick, oh so you already know about Specialty Motorcars. That guy does have the line on Lincolns. I can’t blame you either way on selling this car. It’s a gem!

    If you truly love driving this car I would keep it a while longer. Maybe find a beater to use to keep the wear and tear off the TC. As you said these are going to get harder to find as time goes on and you have a great example of one. You may want to reach out to Anthony from Specialty Motor Cars and see truly what this car is worth and maybe possibly sell it to him. He would find a really good home for it but I'm not sure he would give you 17K for the car but it wouldn't hurt to find out. I sold him my 95 TC Cartier with 46K on it back in 2020 and he gave me a good price for it.

    What did you ever find out about the possible bondo job on the rear right quarter?

    • @GetThisNick
      @GetThisNick  7 месяцев назад +1

      Nothing more than I already knew. The previous owner stated his father in law was backing out of a spot in a grocery store and backed into another car at a low speed. The repair was handled through insurance and a small amount of bondo was used and touch up paint.
      I originally thought the trunk was misaligned but plenty of people told me that their TCs are the same way, and that mine looked normal. I’m not sure when the bondo was applied, but my guess is that just over time it cracked a slight amount. It has since been touched up. I don’t think there’s anything I’d really be able to do besides sanding down that small section and then redoing it and re painting, but for how small of an area it is I didn’t think it was necessary. If it was a significant amount of damage yeah, but for this case it just wouldn’t make since to go through all that hassle for just that small blemish

    Great car. I bought a 1 owner 07 LTC a few months ago with 46k on it for 12k USD. Had it imported to Canada and I'm planning to keep it forever with the help of some rust protective under carriage spray

    Nick, you got to get a plan. Why don't you start looking for another Town Car. You are in a great area to do so. See what deals come up and then sell yours. It would be good for the channel to get a different one, see what you need to do to improve it and make videos on the new journey. You probably could continue to do this and make profits while getting good content. After a while you could get to be quite an expert on Lincolns. It's all about the style and the great ride.

    I have a 99' Grand Marquis LS 2 owners before I purchased it 5 yrs ago I have 140,000 miles on her now. I drive the car on the weekend or when I just feel like! I've done some work on it! tinted windows,Flowmaster exhaust, costume wheels and new timing chain! What pissed me off? I left it unlocked in front of my house in the middle of the day while I was in my backyard, I come out too take it for a drive and someone got into the glove box and stole my original "saie sticker original book and all the service records!😢

    Specialty motor thief has the advantage of 75k viewers all interested in those cars that is the reason he is able to get those kind of prices. I dealt with him one time as I live fairly close when I went to his shop he tried to charge me an extra thousand bucks over what he told me he would sell the car for... wasn't a good look for him and would never deal with him!

    • @specialtymotorcars
      @specialtymotorcars 7 месяцев назад +1

      Yes Ed. When you asked me about that Mercury (that wasn’t for sale yet as I had no paperwork from the estate company)I was just starting my process of trying to get the title for the car. Three months later after much effort I got everything straightened out and got the car ready for sale. Adding some more service to the car including all new tires that I didn’t do originally. I simply added this to my cost of the car. So my 60k mile Grand Marquis LS was officially offered for sale for $5995, and sold quite quickly at that price. I’m sure you would understand that things can change over a 3 month+ period of time. It’s not like I told you one price one day, and $1,000 more the next day with nothing to account for it other than being a “thief”.

      Anthony you were the guy that offered me one of 2 vehicles you had at your shop the Mercury and the 95 Lincoln. You told me I could I either one for 4995 I was more interested in the Mercury because it had new tires already on it. You told me you it's your car and you decided to ask for more.

    Beautiful, and a great deal. About 6 months ago, I bought a like new Mercury Grand Marquis from the original owner, with only 36,000 miles on it. I paid $10,000. I prefer the Grand Marquis because it has more in common with the Ford Crown Vic than the Lincoln. That and the fact that I've owned a 2006 Grand Marquis for 11 years, bought with 97,000 miles on it, it now has 381,000 miles and is still running like new. The 2007 was bought as an eventual replacement for the 2006, IF it ever wears out.

    If you decide to keep it or sell it bottom line is that you need to get a 2nd Town Car or Panther Platform car, dosen’t make financial sense to continue to use that as a daily driver. As is the case with the 1996 Chevy Impala a car has to hit the 25 year old mark to be able to get “antique” insurance and become truly collectible.This body style Lincoln Town Car debuted in 2003 so its time is not too far away.I have several Town Cars myself. AMEN

    If you sell it, you'll want to get another town car and the chance it will be as nice... just keep babying her and drive her one in a while.These cars hate sitting. the 29k mile I have needed so much maintenance despite looking it had just rolled off the assembly line... on the other hand like I had mentioned in another post on FB i think - have seen low mile 2011 where the asking price ws high 20s - insane if you ask me. Keep in mind the couple last model years are going to bring more especially those with the new dash (i think 2006+). Also like you said - imagine you get 17k cash. what do you get then? A new car is going to be 30k. Which means a car payment again. Only scenario I could see here - sell it and shell out a few $ more for a 2011 Signature L. Can't top that lol.

    It's your car but you'll have a hard time finding another one with that low of miles and in that shape! if you sell it! You will miss it! They don't make these wonderful automobiles anymore! A few extra thousand from what you paid isn't worth it. What will you buy that is as wonderful as this car for the money? Nothing! This car was a lucky find ! Remember, you have the title!

I too have had crazy offers on my 2007 L which is in unbelievably clean shape like yours. A new car or a newer used car today is gonna cost you alot and it wont be a Lincoln Town Car and wont be as long term Reliable. Please think twice my Friend. !!!!!
