This reminds me so much of marine life: In the beginning, it looks like the upper oceanic layer. The music that hints to air bubbles occassionally rising, those vibrant colors with fin-like/coral-like shapes and I love how they accentuated those looks with minimalistic yet vivid colors on the models' hair... Even those faces which are incorporated in those dresses remind me of organisms that are trying to deceive their predetors or even the opposite way, predetors camouflaging themselves (face cage in that video). As the video proceeds, it gets darker, as if one is entering the deep sea where the sunlight never reaches. The music suddenly shifts from having clear sounds to damped thuds with a lot of echoes, highlighting the vast emptiness in the deep sea. The two light sources are those on the floor and some brighter spots where the models' appearance flashes past you, like a flashlight that managed to catch a marine life's beauty and scary shapes before it got scared away. Some models remind me of jellyfishes with their deadly tentacles, floating around and waiting for their preys. The models are not walking in straight lines anymore, they are seemingly walking in a chaotic yet fluent way, flowing past each other. Towards the end, more and more of the models are standing around, not moving, staring into the void as if their time has stopped, just like marine life in the deep sea. The creatures have no sunlight and rely on sinking minerals and prey for energy and in order to get them, most of those animals just float around with little to no movement, spreading out their deadly fangs/tentacles in the hopes of food. It is as if time has no meaning to them, they are untouched by time but at the same time they appear to be trapped in it; Fixed; Chained. They just "exist" in the darkness... Just like mankind floating around in space, existing and the only thing that has a valid meaning for the universe and thus us is time. Bound by time as long as we managed to understand it better... It seems to me like Iris Van Herpen make and design clothes to cater to our dream - self , or some ethereal beings the English language has no description of as of this moment. The clothes are out - of this world, like they were conceived from some otherworldly dimension. In a world where no one strives to be original anymore, I love it.

Everything in this is absolutely stunning. The way the dresses move with the models is so natural. Someone said this is what they imagine a futuristic society to dress like and I could not agree more
Incredible. I've been agog and in deep admiration of you and your work for almost 10 years knowing how extraordinary it would be to keep a close eye on your creative journey from there on in. What fun it's been! Breath taking. Oh how I covet your creations. Everything shimmers and moves as the person walks so it looks unpredictable, alien and organic. The human energy seems to be the battery powering the sculpted, living 'clothing'. For me, that's how they never seem to overpower the human wearing your pieces, there's an almost hard to fathom balance between an other-worldly piece of couture and it's otherwise naked human host; it's remarkable and nobody else can achieve this sorcery but you. Even the heavier, more static materials used seem alive, like a second attached being which NEEDS the human body to exist. The effect is not the same as if you did only sculpture, as it's clear that sculpting, designing and cutting this way really comes alive when a human is powering it all. Not just wind and movement is needed, but the energy of the human able to wear such pieces with confidence. Most people trot out the 'science fiction' phrase to describe what you do but to me, so many pieces look like A THOUGHT PROCESS and I feel like I'm looking inside the fire of a human brain at the very point of ignition when beginning to form an idea. Your pieces just remind me of the electric, the alive and the impossible to put into words: qualia. If deeply esoteric and existential things could be incarnated in material form, we'd get Iris Van Herpen. The audience viewing a collection just needs to put the work in and let their memories, imagination and intellect tesselate and then fully engage with the psychedelic, deeply intimate personal offer of revelation which is what magically happens with your creations. They're so outlandishly PRESENT and demanding of my attention, and yet, they inspire me to go inside. To re-envision and feel the abstract elements of a particular memory, like what the weather was like, elements of the natural world which you somehow capture in a bell jar and cast a spell on and turn into a couture piece: "a deserted beach at 7am, or a vibrant evening walk home 11pm cutting through the shortcut of a rocky moonscape-like construction site...the quality of the light, the smells, the undulations and patterns in the landscape". For me, it's a wild trip. Everything is alive and everything is incredible. I want to absorb the entire universe when I view your work. Thank you so much for being who you are.
This is but the second show I've seen, and yet i an captivated and mesmerized. Even by this,I recognize genius and talent. She has it, and more than a dash of showmanship...
Ines De La Hoya Elie Saab creates pretty and conventional dresses. The fabrications with the embroideries are amazing but the silhouettes and shapes are never anything new or exciting. Versace haute couture is definitely a bit more along that direction of McQueen. It just doesn't get much attention because the RtW clothes are tacky garbage. Shame really.

It seems to me like Iris Van Herpen make and design clothes to cater to our dream - self , or some ethereal beings the English language has no description of as of this moment. The clothes are out - of this world, like they were conceived from some otherworldly dimension. In a world where no one strives to be original anymore, I love it.
The mind of this woman. Amazing.
One of the best shows I've ever seen!!!!! WOW WOW WOW
Why do most of the designs remind of fish fins, scales and body? The movement , the colour , the beauty 🙌
i was thinking of moths the whole time.
She is inspired by water. Most of the time.
Mirip ikan cupang
Most of these gave me betta fish vibes
To me the patterns kinda looked like the inside of an onion when you cut it open.
first ever designs that seems to be wearable and actually comfy. Till now i´ve seen models wearing phonebooths or chandeliers
By far the most creative and beautiful garment designs/designer I have ever witnessed.
This cured my 'Diorpression'
🤣🤣
The last couple minutes we're my favorite in the dark they all look like powerful goddesses

Gucci sells some of the most ugly stuff ever for thousands of dollars. These dresses and clothing in this video are worth way more and super creative than some t shirt that says Gucci on it.
Fancy Bread That’s because Gucci is only good at marketing, their styles are horrendous
I’d hope they are worth more, Gucci is ready to wear, not haute couture, can’t compare a pear to an Apple
I agree
their dresses cost $20k to $100k
All Gucci stuff aren't the same......u can search for gucci Stuff and see the gorgeous stuff they make!!! Dont just say something is bad like that! Its rude...like their a good marketing company
The fabric moves so beautifully
This is iconic, the modeles were stunning. I love all the looks and feel what the designer wanted to portray.
Everything in this is absolutely stunning. The way the dresses move with the models is so natural. Someone said this is what they imagine a futuristic society to dress like and I could not agree more
Possibly the most amazing runway show of this decade. I can't believe that I'm saying this, but it's true.
It is.. I cried.
We have not seen such beauty since fashion had been declared dead. Iris is bringing fashion back to life.
This is like watching an assortment of exotic fish and sea creatures walk the runway, AMAZING!!!!!!!
Omg this designer's is so ahead of her time in fashion is breathtaking I really believe that she is getting us ready for our next fashion generas
ART in motion. Avant garde and yet very wearable.
so true!!
Exactly. Its actually wearable that's what won me over.
That's exactly what I thought I'm watching a walking art gallery. This is Gorgfantasticrosa!😍🤩😍🤩👏👏👏👏👏!! I had to make up that word right now !!😂
@@LisaFrank39 it even looks comfortable. It's the first time in forever I was like I would wear that. I Want it!!
If you're extra enough to go around looking like a siamese fighting fish.
Very pretty though. ;P
by far the most innovative and original designer of our time. Everyone else is still doing a variation on a theme.
Perhaps the most underrated name in fashion. IVH constantly pushes the industry forward.
She's not underrated at all. She just started compared to the hundreds of years other labels have had. Everyone loves her work.
Wow ….absolutely unique, and so unbelievably beautiful
This is but the second show I've seen, and yet i an captivated and mesmerized. Even by this,I recognize genius and talent. She has it, and more than a dash of showmanship...
If someone doesn't wear the dress at 4:34 to a red carpet event I'm suing the universe
EVA GREEN WORE THAT ONT THE PREMIERE OF DUMBOOOO
*if anyone doesn't wear any of the dresses displayed in this video
@@irabeauemano4082 Fuckin' awesome that someone actually DID wear it.
Where is the lie though
These would be perfect at a Met gala as well!
Iris saving fashion like Alexander McQueen did at his moment
She worked for McQueen lol
How do you feel about Elli Saab and Donatella Versace?... He he, just asking.
She's way ahead of her time. Such a genius
@@TheTinKunt - Ain't that the truth!
I'm astounded by the structure of these pieces. Blown away by the dynamism of the garments!
Some of the most alluring fabrics and spectacular use of color I have seen in the runway in a long time!
I always wonder when I’d start seeing futuristic/innovative clothes like the stuff I’d see in movies. Well here it is. I’m not a fashion expert but this is simply stunning! So unique and ahead of its time. Bravo!
Iris is such a beautiful designer. Her pieces are incredibly stunning and otherworldly. They makes me feel something right in my heart. I’m so grateful to be alive at the same time she is. 🦋
0:52 it was absolutely breathtaking, one of my favorite ones.
The RUclips algorithms keep showing me things I never knew I wanted to see.
The RUclips algorithm strangely works.
It is amazing how the change at around 6:06 perfectly grasped the deep sea life & mysticism, I’m in lovveee
Love, Love, Love words can not express this beautiful collection.
Wow. So much movement and so much texture. Ethereal. Some of the most beautiful clothes I have ever seen. Fabric and materials are nuts. Bravo !
