Well done video, thank you. I have wonderful memories of Ecstasy from when she was in Charleston. It’s a shame that the Fantasy class is being scrapped. In a different reality they would be sold to other lines and continue sailing for many years to come.
This is so very sad. I met my now husband on board the Ecstasy, 30 years ago. A true “How Stella got her grove back.” However I have wonderful memories and pictures of my friends and myself having a blast. It was truly Electric! Farewell old friend. You brought much joy, happiness and love to many, rest well, you will never be forgotten.💞
I rode on her when I was 8 in 2019 now it’s been 2 years since she’s been scraped and I met a lot of friends on there and that ship will always hold a special place in my heart
This was my patents’ first cruise, and they loved it. I’ve heard a LOT of folks say they prefer these smaller ships. My wife & I are going on the Elation in a couple months, which is the last in this class of ships. We can’t wait.
She was the very first cruise ship we were ever on. She got us hooked on cruising. We weren't able to make her very last sailing but we sailed with her at the end of Sep 2022. Lots of memories, doing the same itinerary but out of Mobile instead of out of Galveston. Sad to have to say goodbye.
Actually Doug it wasn't just the pandemic. My uncle who was a music worker on CCL said that Carnival had a thing from a disability advocate that they had to sell off all ships that didn't work for handicaps before the end of 2022.
I really liked the Ecstasy. Sailed her from Charleston and we took my in-laws on their first cruise a few years ago on her. It was also my first cruise back to Carnival after retiring from the military. I normally like bigger ships, but this one is special
She was a great ship. I remember going onboard her for the day to take photos before Garth Brooks played Charleston in 2016. The decor was certainly for the books. Thank you for watching.
Thanks for the send-off spotlight for the carnival Ecstasy. My first cruise was aboard the Carnival Paradise. When her time comes for that final sail away I’ll make a special effort to be on deck. The memories made on your first cruise ship are unforgettable. ✌🏾😊👋🏾
My first cruise was on the Ecstasy. I remember walking her decks and thinking what a marvelous ship she was. It's hard to forget your first. Some think you're gone but you won't be as long as I'm alive.
There must have been something about the Fantasy class that other operators didn't like. For example, Holiday, Jubliee, and Celebration all went to other operators when they were retired from the Carnival fleet. However, Carnival had been trying to sell Fantasy since around 2009, I believe, and they never found any other operators interested in operating the Fantasy class ships. Very strange...
I have an awesome hat in Car ival colors from 96-97 season. It was a gift from 2 crew members who were married the ship was in for heavy maintenance, NNSY. Being a
The Ecstasy was our honeymoon ship and first cruise. August 21, 1995. Four wonderful days on board. We traveled again on her in May of 1998 with our first son and second as a stowaway. We have traveled on many cruise ships but the Ecstasy was our favorite. The society bar was cool. Both times we chose Main 101 as our cabin. Sad to see her go to the scrap but so we’re we sad to see Imagination and Inspiration as well.
It’s probably hard to understand today how much of a sensation the the Fantasy-class was, coming from the Tropicale, much less the old Mardis Gras, Festivale and the Carnivale.
I sailed the original Celebration when she was with Bahamas Paradise. There are a lot of architectural similarities between the Holiday and Fantasy classes, but the atrium is definitely not one of those. Hoping I can get on Elation in 2024, although Elation and Paradise have a lot less neon in their atriums.
She was our first cruise and the beginning of our love of cruising! I’m sad to see her go!

Doug, you did a wonderful job of giving the ship her final send off, thank you!!
Glad you liked it!
Brilliant video, Doug! Thank you for bringing us all along on her final voyage.
Glad you enjoyed it

So glad I got to experience that final cruise as my first, thank you for making this
My pleasure.
That cross section of that ship (Imagination) shows a very interesting perspective 3:23.
Thank you for this bittersweet but informative video❤️/💔

For sure, when I saw it was the final sailing, i called my travel agent ASAP to get me on.

Excellent video Doug! Thank you for telling us the cruise news.
Glad you enjoyed it! Have you ever sailed Carnival?
My son and daughter in law treated me to a cruise on the Ecstasy in July. It was awesome! The staff was Amazing

Great video Doug. Au revoir Ecstasy✋🏿
Nice piece. Wish we had been able to give Fantasy and Imagination a proper send off.
Thanks, William.
Thanks for this production.
My pleasure, Laura.
Love todays format
Thank you for your support.
I'm so sad😢. I wish they would bring some of the old touches to the excel class.
Great History .... Thanks Doug .....
Thanks for watching, Ray.

Wow. What a memory. So cool. Crazy there are only two left.
@@CruiseRadio We traveled on Paradise twice. The first time in 2000 when she was a smoke free ship doing seven day cruises.
Sad to see such a game changer leave the seas
Good evening Doug! ❤
It was a good vacation for me best vacation ever only cruise ship I experienced.
Wow,great content….more of these kind of vids in the future please…..
I can try. May need to clone myself first.
I rode Ecstasy back in 2005 it was a beautiful ship.
WELL DONE
Very kind. Thank you.
So sad 😞 such a beautiful ship
This was my first cruise too.
My understanding is that the older ships are higher maintenance and less fuel efficient than the newer ones, even though the newer ones are larger.
That's what Arnold Donald said in the clip. If it wasnt for the shutdown, they'd still have them. Those ships were cash cows and paid off.
PLEASE, someone, is it sold or being scrapped? I’m dying to know.
Ah, Parodeejay won that champagne bottle! They showed it on their last live stream from home.

Sad that this is another ship I'll never have a chance to sail.
I loved that ship
Sad
Didn’t this ship have an elevator death incident?
Good memory 🙏🏽
I feel like this cruise is haunted
My 1st ship 😢.
Only sailed her twice. Lucky enough to sail her last voyage.
Nothing, absolutely nothing, lasts forever in this world. You really start to realize this when you get older.
We are all going to be put out of pasture one day. Thanks for watching.
The Ecstasy was my first cruise ship and John Heild was the cruise director. I will miss that ship!!!
Funny how it all comes full circle.
💔💔💔
So sad
Agree! Thanks for watching, Matthew.
So 😔 sad
😭
It’s ashame cause she would be better then the classica on the margaritaville cruises.. thanks to the plandemic, thank you China and fauchi
She was still in great shape and by far the best AC system at sea.
