He's never in a hurry, even when he's moving fast.
When you're in a hurry it's easy to trip your self up and quite often the hurry. Ends up being a hindrance
And what is the worst part is the lack of appreciation to savor the experience
Gosh, I wanna put Humbackers from Mustaine set or from Darrel set on one of these and switch it into Metal Rig for a good Doom Metal.
Within the first two seconds, you could just hear the soul in this instrument. Great sound Justin! 👍
My dad played lap style slide guitar
I must say I enjoy playing my Mahogany Weissenborn more than my Republic Parlor resonator ! Honestly, I find it is easier to play with a slide, than my resonator. I believe it’s caused by the curve of the nut!
Really nice, from the dude that brought you the 3 string shovel…..
TruthZ 🙏🔅🔆🔅🔆🔅🔆🔅🔆👏🏞🎨🌕☀️🌊
That thing does sound astounding
Friday ,can of beer, listening to Justin Johnson playing a slide guitar...Doesn`t get any better than that.
Feelin' it, dude!🍻🤘🏻
I wish I had a mind as so very easily amused as yours friend. It takes a big dose of LSD and a big tank of nitrous and a couple cosplaying whores blowing me to reach "doesn't get any better than this" levels of satisfaction
Friday night, the Jordan River, weak campfire light, Justin and the sound of the water..
@ t c preach good sir
@@thinkinyblinko6666 boy the backend of that sounds awful lol
Feet up… head back…. Eyes closed … listening….ahhhhh, that’s so nice!!🤗❤️🐝

Your play seems like water in a river. Just flows on down to where it naturally need to be.
I like that comparison. A river flows just as fast or slow as it needs to move all that water.
You can see a picture in your head , a movie , and somethin' is going to happen.cool.
Swampy sound lads
Justin’s playing is like a trickling spring in the middle of a woods. It’s that pure and it’s that clean
✌🏻❤️🎶
That’s the difference between women and water........ water can make a decision 😂🤣😂
The concentration, feeling, and delicate touch that Harpo had when he played. Beautiful.
What a great vibe. Waiting on my last load then I am home bound. It's been a long stressful week. This is exactly what my soul needed!!!!
Thank you Justin!!!!!!
I think we need a bootlegger series album of just lapsteel!!!!!
Hope y'all have beautiful weekend 😎🤘🍻
Back at ya bro!! Peace ✌️
Have a safe trip back brother😘👍
Go for it Bandit, we'll keep Smokey Bear occupied.
@@andyroo8592 😎🍻
@@SkunkPunch73 thank you😎
Emerald has outdone themselves with the Solace. Carbon fiber, zero internal bracing, awesome sound, and lighter than any lap guitar. Justin, thanks for putting it through its paces.
So good that it makes my skin crawl!!!
Your music blesses our souls, relieves our hearts from suffering, lightens our thoughts and makes our blood boil in our veins. Thanx for your mission. We love you.
Stirs the bloodstream.
Fabio Gattino ....you nailed it.
There's something really special about the shape of a weissenborn that gives them incredible tone and sustain. Probably the longest sustaining lapsteels I've ever used, including resonators.
Красота, мозг впитывает как губка такую музыку. Можно слушать без остановки долгое время не напрягаясь.
To me, slide is true Blues, it can make a guitar cry
Amen
its always surprising, how many variations are possible in a simple kind of music like the blues.. phantastic performance, simple but pure
This man has to have had some pain and suffering in his life. There's no way you can put that much emotion behind every no without feeling the hurt. Absolutely phenomenal
This ol boy is a healer. His soul is medicinal. Nothin like the blues to chase away the blues.
Exactly. You don't learn from your successes. Not my thoughts it's what little I've learned. God bless and keep you always, friend.
It is called blues baby ;p
How in the hillbilly hell could someone hit the thumbs down button on this one. This is awesome and goes right to the soul! Thank you JJ!
Probably thought he should be playing standing up or something lol
Some sad fuck who listens to commercial radio
Fantastic to the Last Note ..
A soul from the Golden Age in this one.
phantastisch,sagenhaft kann man nicht beschreiben-wooooouuuuwwwww
Justin on a Friday night!
I’ve been watching the Ritchie Blackmore channel and like he said. Every note being perfect is boring. When you’re reaching and sometimes the wrong note. It shows that you’re trying and looking for something new! To me?! That’s delta blues. Thanks Justin!!
Quelle chance, quelle joie, quel bonheur et quel plaisir de regarder et surtout, d'écouter les vidéos que tu nous présentes. C'est un cadeau que j'apprécie et qui fait partie de mon quotidien. Merci Justin Johnson! (What luck, what joy, what happiness and what pleasure to watch and above all, to listen to the videos you present to us. It is a gift that I appreciate and that is part of my daily life. Thank you Justin Johnson!)
What a great sound! Last Sunday I listened to Bad Temper Joe playing live a wooden Weissenborn. The rich sound coming from the large resonance space was so beautiful. It drove me to tears.
You are my MASTER... and when it comes to your slide work... You are my GOD!!! I so love your work and music, especially slidin' on the Laps and the Resonators!!! 🐺
I can’t explain how the slide just seems to grab my inner being and soothe and sort of electrify it. Just as if it’s a separate part of me or should I say I can feel the shell/ body we are held in while on this level of existence! Sorry if that doesn’t make any sense people. Thanking you very kindly Dr Johnson for another beautiful bit of therapy ✌️ stay safe and healthy 😘👍
Qué bello escucharte! Me hacés feliz!!! ❤️🇦🇷
I love the Weissenborn. I have one being custom built now by a luthier in Italy. You make that carbon sound like it has soul. This is the best representation of the carbon Weissenborn. They should pay you for this video! Fantastic!
I could listen to that all day long. It has a awesome tone
From shovels to cigar boxes to skateboards to........carbon?! This dude can do it all.
I love watching the face of guitar breath out the soulful sounds of those notes!
Good analogy. Guitar is breathing
Nothing like listening to JJ play some real blues on a slide guitar! 👍👍🎸🎸😉😉
He makes ‘er cry pretty good doesn’t he??
A melancholy sound. Soulful “singing” at its best.
Whoa, I really need to try this tuning on my baritone lap steel. Thanks for posting, Justin!
You should!... and this isn't even a baritone. Lap steels always sound great when the strings are slinky... just make sure you don't push them in too hard, or they go sharp. 🤘
a powerful soul massage
Truly appreciate the opportunity to be hearing this right now. What a blessing to have such perfectly grounding music to share with my family & friends. You stay classy, San Diego.
You sir... Have stirred my soul.
Love to hear Led Zeps "Levee Breaks" on this particular slide.
Foghorn, old boy, i do agree with you. Great idea!
"When the Levee Breaks" is a country blues song written and first recorded by Kansas Joe McCoy and Memphis Minnie in 1929. The lyrics reflect experiences during the upheaval caused by the Great Mississippi Flood of 1927. "
"When the Levee Breaks" was re-worked by English rock group Led Zeppelin as the last song on their untitled fourth album. Singer Robert Plant used many of the original lyrics and the songwriting is credited to Memphis Minnie and the individual members of Led Zeppelin.[1] Many other artists have performed and recorded versions of the song."

We do appreciate the expressive soulful sound of your Delta Blues slide performance, and are grateful your sentiments that we hear.
That's what the Blues are all about. The feel, the emotions it can evoke. It's more than the right notes and chords or instrument. It comes from the soul to the fingertips. I couldn't agree with you more. Peace
Yes, I do! Thank you for this song.
Always make time to listen to Justin ... It's like a soul healing. Every. Damn. Time.
That Sir was so clean, I sat mesmerized.
Волшебство и магия! Спасибо большое Джастину за его Музыку!
Righteous man. Very rich.and seasoned Sound.
BRAVO!!!!!!!!
Justin's touch and feel is an absolute heavenly gift , wow talk about heart massage ,you got it going on son ,keep up the great work ,smoother than Tennessee whiskey
Lost for words. Mind blown. Daaaaaang.
What a nice lead-in to weekend. Thanks Justin
He's the master at slide
That Weissenborn sounds great. I'm not sure how much is acoustic or electric....but a beautiful balance of heavy bass and twanginess.
As the Tumbleweed rolled by
Amazing playing and disnt sell his Soul!
Reminds me of the hammer dulcimer my Granpap used to play. What a beautiful sound that instrument made.
Puts a lazy grin on my face . 🤗
Ever since I heard my first Weissenborn , fell in love with the sound. Even tried to make my version of one. Sounds good to me but weighs a ton. Now this the guitar comes rolling into the 21 first century. Bet it's pretty light. Thank you for showing me this inspirational guitar and playing. Still great channel. Thank you Mr. Johnson.
i cant get over how good this gottamn channel is
That just made want to dig out my Lap and hear it again, so nice to hear this one.
Oh yes!!!!! It's Friday night!!! Cheers 🥃🥃Amazing and relaxing. Thanks for sharing your talent with us
perfect timing, on every level. from my perspective.
Wow! Thank you for making my soul hurt less!
Only God hears our raised fourth. Thank you for your service, brother.
💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗 Justin, you have such beautiful hands. Your camera gal is awesome. Thank you both.
I just discovered you today, and I have fallen completely and utterly in love. Thank you for existing. 🥰🥰
Sounds good
In awe of justin johnson
At first I wasn’t really diggin the sound that Justin was pulling out of this carbon graphite steel guitar. But Justin being Justin I just kept on listening, and then the sound and tonal qualities became apparent to me about halfway thru, and I came to understand the sound. And I found a new appreciation. Really nice.
Remember, he rocks a shovel. :-)
He could make anything sound good.
Damn, there is awesome talent in his hands. Could listen to him slide all day.
There is no one better on this earth--true talent, true skill, creative mind, one with the instrument. I am so impressed with each and every video.
Never really liked blues music, but somehow your videos just feel right. After playing drums for 7 years and bass for another 2, you've been one hell of an inspiration for me to grab a resonator (probably odd to say on a Weissenborn video), a slide, and see what I can do. A different beast to tackle entirely, but been fun so far! Really want to try learning Son of a Witch some day. Great playing as always, Justin!
A M A Z I N G
This should be on Emeralds site to showcase how these new Weissenborns are supposed to sound like.
Haunting, harrowing and healing, all at once, terrific!!!
Thanks Justin, I love to listening to your music while building my classical guitars 👍
You got so much soul in your guitars
i love it very much dear Justin🙏 Thank you very much Greetings Elisabeth.
Wow. If I had to pick a song to describe my mood the day my Momma passed this would be it. Moved me to tears. Thank you for this.
Oh yeah I feel awesome listening to this! Doesn't get any better than this!
Maestro Justin Johnson!!
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
thanks brother!
Well done
Dam dude, you top yourself everytime. Could listen all day. Thanks Justin
Absolutely
Waow and Waow, that vibe! So much blue notes it hurt my spine!💥✨And goosebumps. 🤜🤛🤓
Hey, Bill was really taken with this guitar and has been looking in to them. For both of us. I just sent him a message to come and see and here he is. Thanks, m.m. P.S. whatever you play it's grand. Bests to y'all.
Thank you for that moment of "meditative state of mind"... and soul.
Perfect tone, great musician, great guitar!
Sweet and does have that River Easy Flow Great Post and Thanks Justin
Well it's the weekend again slide on into it .Just Sweet !
I've never seen a slide guitar like that one. Amazing sound!
It's an Emerald
Not only can I see it and hear it, I can feel it. JJ is awesome and I can listen to him 24/7.
I totally dig that old school style!
What a cool gift and thank you sir for sharing it!
Could listen to you play all day long Justin, fabulous stuff!
I haven"t heard that many variations of this instrument but the tone seems amazingly balanced between those lows and mids and highs. Sweet!!
Design and Sound Fabulous !
Hubby just came in from the wood shop; He about melted when he heard this!!
What a wonderful, soulful sound!!
I wish I could live with him and listen to him all day and all night long
This video has raised the bar for any other slide guitar player.
I have played guitar for 40 years and this was not what I was expecting.
$#@@4#$ awesome!!
WOW! That's all.....just WOW!
Hi y'all a beautiful slice 'o Americana. I can see the hazy sunset in Monument Valley Park. Heat shimmering off the melting roads. Giant birds of prey riding the air streams above. The skin on my neck red, hot n gritty in the giant convertible Detroit land yaght. A tumble weed rolls by, the sky is a John Ford masterpiece. Ciao y'all P In NOLA.
Lovely! So sweet!
You make it look so effortless! And it sounds so good... Thanks for posting these videos. I always enjoy them.
Amazing talent, beautiful!
This sounds like such a great soundtrack for my memories of my misadventures in Mississippi back in the early 90's. I really liked it down there. But when I die I'll be leaving this world from Kentucky. But i"ll always love Mississippi. I met some great people down there. Y'all know who you are..
Blues man Justin at it again! Sounds so damn good
Sure sounds amazing
Ce mec a un niveau de blues incroyable 💥💥💥
