This was so cool! I totally want to see more! I’d love to see 1. A digivolution for the ExVeemon/Angemon jogress 2. A jogress between all 6 digidestined. 3. Jogress digivolutions for the Adventure 01 cast. These would follow the same concepts as 02. They all jogress at the champion level. This obviously means that we wouldn’t get an Omnimon style digivolution. Maybe it could still evolve into Omnimon but that’s kinda boring in my opinion. This could also be how you explore the Kari/TK jogress. I see it reflecting the duos of digieggs the 02 digidestined gets. Tai and Matt, Sora and Mimi, Izzy and Joe, and Kari and TK. I’m sorry that this became less praise and more suggesting things. I just have a lot of ideas flowing up in my brain space

It's a darn shame I'll never see these three in any sort of official Digimon media. They're so friggin' cool! Imagine having something like Bahamumon on your squad in a Digimon Story or World game. These designs are amazing! Hats off to the artists.
It's pretty cool that you paired both Ken and Kari cause Kari joined the original Adventure team later than the others and the same applies to Ken, also the dark ocean connection that you mentioned.
This needs a part 2, I would love to see the evolutions of these digimon along with the alternate evolutions like we have with paildramon and dinobeemon. You could include a more fairy like evolution for the gatomon/stingmon cross.
I always thought that TK and Davis and Cody and Ken made more sense to Jogress instead of the ones we got, as they had a lot of conflict between each other and DNA digivolving would of help bridge the differences in my opinion

If you read between the lines Cody was kinda jealous that Davis Jogressed with Ken. Then when Kari was imagining what Jogresses with all the other champions would look like when she gets to Ankylomon Cody reacts amazed, Davis as usual takes it the wrong way.
Daphnismon really looks like a counterpart for Paildramon. Gatomon with Stingmon based combat gear. And Bahamumon looks is the perfect blend of an angelic dragon warrior. Or is it a draconic angel warrior...?
Okay, here's a concept for a video involving 02 Jogresses. What if it wasn't Azulongmon that blessed Paildramon to digivolve further. what if it was one of the other 3? yes this idea would mainly be "here are 3 more Paildramon evolutions" but it could also be like, what if Sylphimon or Shakoumon were blessed to digivolve further. the idea is there at least
"Hey, Daemon! Think batting away a dragon is fun? Here are two Angels for you to play with!" Valkyriemon and Slashangemon: *cracking their knuckles* Daemon: "Oh, crud..."
Okay, idea for a sequel to this... Ken and Lolei as DNA Partners. Maybe playing of the idea they end up married in the future, I kinda always wished there was at least some kind of hints for that pre epilogue. In addition their chests I feel would would work really well together. Kidness, Love, Sincerity/Purity those things kinda go had in had. In addition you mentioned there is an insect out there called a "Hawk Moth" and that I feel could work for inspiration for a Aquilimon/Stingmon fusion as well. Maybe even though in some "Love Bug" terms and inspirations, maybe keep Aqulimon's wings on the back of the fusion ... could maybe even have some loose Cupid elements with Bird/Angel wings on the back... As for a name... Euphamon? Mixing "Eumorpha Typhon", the name for the hawk moth and euphoria , just being in a general state of happiness.... I don't know the name was hard. I kinda want to draw this myself now actually XD.
I always felt like TK and Davis should have been DNA partners. It was very clear that they were the Tai and Matt of the season. Their rivalry never got a conclusion. It just ended once the Digimon emperor was defeated and Davis unlocked champion for Veemon. It was another unfinished character arc. Cody and Ken should have been fusion partners because for majority of the first arc and part of the second arc Cody and Ken had an arc together where Cody really disliked Ken, like he even said he hated him at one point, and couldn't find himself to trust Ken post-emperor arc. Cody was the last of the kids to fully trust him(which could have ended with them two activating DNA Digivolution). Cody and TK even has that moment inside the Digimon emperor base where TK and Cody vocally beat up Ken with facts and logic. I think Yolei and Kari was the only spot on partners. Not because they're the only female leads, but because their story arc revolved around them learning more about love, purity, how to be the light in the darkness, and of course each other. They have the most well written character arcs that lead to them becoming partners. I always felt that Cody and TK fusion was just shoehorned because they was the last two left. The way it even happened was so anti-climatic that it wasn't even earned. TK just goes "OK Cody let's do it" as if they tried DNA Digivolution before the debut episode. I could understand if it was a movie explaining the pairing of each child or a special, but it wasn't. There was no build up or anything. Alas this is just another issue of the craziness and inconsistency that was the writing staff of Zero Two. Davis and TK SHOULD have been partners. Goddamn Season 2 was a mess but I love it so much because it has so many what ifs and potential.
I wish there was a Digimon adventure 02 reboot which will be a sequel to Digimon Adventure 2020. In this reboot TK will be the second in command instead of Ken
@@priestesslucy This is true, there is no second in command. Davis literally would just go "Plan? What plan?!? Let's just rush in!" TK in the beginning was clearly being written as the pseudo leader until Davis grew more as a character and took over. Instead they rushed it.
I like how canon did Yolei and Kari becoming DNA evolution partners and how their friendship was after it. It was so nice seeing girls who are close friends. TK as Davis' DNA evolution partner is so great!!!!!! I love your take of Ken as Kari's!!!!!! Cody as Yolei's makes sense too. So I like your video a lot. I feel like canon did build up for Cody to be Ken's. And Kari being Davis' (and him clearly saying he doesn't have a crush on her any more but is glad she's one of his best friends) would have been nice. TK is Yolei's neighbour, so it would have been nice if their different family issues got contrasted. TK remembering how talking to Matt in digital world about how he felt helped them become better brothers and passing on that advice to Yolei could have helped her become a better sister to her older siblings and learn to appreciate them.
I *adore* this video! You have such great ideas, Karn, and I can see the dedication and research you put into each of your videos! They're so well-done! I love the alternate Jogress Pairs you and our fellow Digimon fans came up with, and better yet, the 'mons are so well thought out and fit the personalities of the Digimon that make up the pair and their Chosen partners so well! I do have a video suggestion that kinda ties into this one, though, as a potential for down the line: What if the older Chosen/Digidestined and the younger Chosen/Digidestined had the capability to Jogress? Like, for example, Miyako and Mimi? Iori and Jyou? I think it's be interesting to see and would definitely be an exercise in creativity!

The Cody and Yoeli Jogress digimon looked amazing my favorite out of these three. I would love to see mega forms for these digimon especially for Daphnismon ( I also like that Daphnismon looks very gender neutral )
A fun idea for alternate dna digivolution partners would be TK and ken, Kari and Cody, yolei and davis. The pairs while usually not interacting as just those pairs. Bounce off eachother really well
Oooo these are some awesome fusions! They are all honestly pretty epic. I love the blade like wings and helmet of Bahamumon! Damn this is stunning! He's got the fierce noble warrior thing going. Daphnismon would be amazing to see in motion! You KNOW they could come out swinging, landing some heavy kicks and slashes before kicking some distance and finishing it with a shot from their Sniper Arm Canon. And Vapulamon (? You didn't include the spelling on screen XD) looks so cool too! There is some ancient wisdom in those eyes! Additionally, I love the coincidental similarity, or at least through line between the three. Two warriors and an almost savage beast, an angel a demon and a warrior man.
omg, bahamumon looks so cool! ...now, how would their evolution look like? ...and what would the 2 forms be? would they get a fighter mode or something holier? then again, magna angemon has a more priest like look and a "fighter" design. so maybe two humanoid forms? or a beastly one and a seraphim? there are a lot of possibilities
If we're working with existing Digimon, SlashAngemon seems like a similar enough upgrade for an Angel with a 'Draconian' sense of Justice. Or if we take the Dragon-Man tribal divergence, you could feasibly transition to the Royal Knight UlforceVeedramon from Bahamumon's design, too...

I've always wanted to see what a jogress between XVeemon and Angemon would look like, ever since T.K and Kari were writing on the chalkboard all the possibilities. All these designs are incredible and so cool!! I know for a fact designing digimon isn't easy D: And all these original digimon look amazing!! I think my favorite of these 3 has to be de Anquilomon and Aquilamon design. It's so rad! And I'm really impressed at how the artist made a jogress between Gatomon and Stingmon work that well! Along with your video of what an armor digievolution would look like for Armadillomon and Hawkmon if they got to combine their pair of digimentals, this video really shows me what a talented bunch of artists the Digimon fandom has!! Great work all of them. I hope you make more of these because I want to see what a jogress between Aquilamon and Stingmon would look like. Also XVeemon and Gatomon. Aquilamon and XVmon. Stingmon and Anquilomon. So many interesting combinations!

I would be very interested to see the other pairing. But I also want to see what the original Digidestines DNA Digivolution pairs you would come up with. Also, the other original Digidestines with their Bond digivolutions (Bond of Love/Knowledge/etc). I know it's a lot, but this would give you content ideas that could last for at least 1 or 2 months.
Interesting video. For a sequel what do you think of Armor DNA digievolution. Pegasusmom+Nefertimin, Flamedramon+Digmon, Halsemon+Submarimon, Raindramon+Shurimon. As well as Double Armor Digievolutions that armor up the champion forms.
To be honest I feel that Ken is the one 02 Chosen Children who can really pull off the DNA Digivolution with any other Chosen Children 1. Yolei eventually marries Ken, so having them paired together early could really feed into the dynamic 2. TK and Ken did have an actual fight in the Digimon Emperor's base after TK realized that Devimon was used in the creation of Chimeramon. Would be an interesting plot point to take 3. Cody is the last Chosen Children to forgive Ken's past as the Digimon Emperor, which would tie in nicely as the final pair to unlock DNA Digivolution 4. Kari, as Karn explains, shares the Dark Ocean link with Ken

On the point of Bahamumon/Bahamut it also has other mythological heritage in sumerian and babylonian where he comes maybe in a funny coincident closer to what got createt for this video but bahamut has so many versions that probably everything with a little dragon can fit to him but it makes really a lot of sense.
This honestly should have been the final evolution for the final battle instead of them making all the kids digivolutions appear, which was kind of weird lol. A massive final evolution that would have been a major fight for Malomyotismon.
I would love for you to continue this. We need more DNA digivolutions, and Daphnismon fusion looks kinda bunny like to me because of the face and ears.

These are all amazing! I wish 02 had treated jogress more like Steven U treated fusion. Seeing a combo of all the partner Digimon would be sick. (I’ve long maintained the Imperialdramon Paladin Mode should have been a jogress of Imperialdramon, and the two other ultimates from that season)

Bahamumon is fucking sick!! I've always been a big angemon fan and was highly disappointed in its DNA with ankylomon so seeing bahamumon is definitely a breath of fresh air...wish it was canon
I was actually watching a match from the tcg where they Jogress Angemon and Aquilamon into Sylphymon and I realized how perfect that actually looked. Started racking my brain cause I wanted my boi Armadillomon to get something better. So I decided to jogress Ankylomon and Gatomon. And best I came up with was switching levels around and having the jogress become DinoTigermon. It was the best I could do but so super happy to see this video Karn.
Really cool ideas. I like them a lot. I don´t know if they plan this but if they reboot 02 it would be fun to see them give eachother those digiegss to let thier partners armor evolve into diffrent forms.
There is what if of Kari as the Digimon Emperor so both Ken and Kari do have tied to darkness it just last parts ends shoving TaKari Also TK and Davis: which Bahamut is that one?!
If you ever do another video like this, I think it would be cool to see other DNA digivolutions like taking swift Stingmon and combining him with slow Ankylomon's awesome defence since Cody was the most against Ken joining them. I think a combination of ExVeemon and Aquilamon would be an interesting sight but TK and Kari would basically have God with the fusion of their angels so maybe pair Yoli with TK and throw Davis a bone and combine Gatomon with ExVeemon for a sassy jokester. These artists are all amazing with their works.

Really cool designs here, let me send all my thanks to the artists, but gotta say, Bahamumon is my absolute fave among these, and I'm now left wishing we actually did have an angelic evo for Veemon.
I really love Daphnismon. While it's a shame to see another Gatomon Jogress change from the female presenting of Gatomon to the male presenting of her Jogress partner, I feel Daphnismon looks androgynous enough to pass for either, unlike Silphymon. I also like that despite sharing the butterfly connection and a link to the Wormon line like Hudiemon, it seems more like a completely different digimon over a counterpart or related species. It has a sleek design that I think blends Gatomon's feline grace and the speed aspect of Stingmon well, I imagine it would move something like a gymnast, graceful and light on it's feet but still having a power behind each movement. Though I don't think it's wings would do much for speed flight since they're quiet large and as we seen with butterflies, they aren't that fastest or most efficient fliers. So I imagine that while Daphnismon could use it's wings to fly, it mostly uses them to slow it's decent when it takes a flying leap or to land silently when it drops down behind foes from a higher vantage point. This makes me wish there had been a arch in 02 where the Jogress partners did get swapped, maybe out of necessity. Maybe the 02 kids end up in the Dark Ocean, Kari and Ken would probably have been pulled in at similar times due to their innate connection to it and in order to survive, their partners needed to become stronger in a way they couldn't with conventional or armour digi-volution and Ken and Kari having to rely on each other so much could have been what led to Gatomon and Stingmon forming Daphnismon. And if these pairs did come from a Dark Ocean arch, it could also tie in to why the Aquilamon - Ankylomon Jogress (I'm not even going to try and spell it's name) comes out slightly demonic. These Jogresses, while powerful, aren't the natural Jogress of the Digimon, which brings out darker aspects of their Digimon coding. Like, in order to achieve these Jogressed forms, they've had to take in some of the evil that makes up the Dark Ocean, though I don't know how that would work with with angel dragon man of TK and Davis' Jogress... And I'm gunna stop there because I've basically started writing the synopsis for a fanfic at this point XD.
@@bookmew1081 With Silpyhmon seeming more mascline to me, I think it partially ties into a couple of factors outside of just it's appearance, though it does have a very male like appearance to me, similar to Garudamon and why as a child I always though the Biyomon line was meant to be male. Silpymon's appearance seeming more male is because it looks like a shirtless guy in terms of torso, very clear, defined muscles and no feminine curves. Also Silpymon, despite it's torso colouring, looks like it takes way more from Aquilamon the Gatomon. Reason I say Daphnismon seems more androgynous in design is because the design is so much slimmer and sleeker, while there are aren't curves, because it's wearing a tactical vest, you can't see defined male musculature either. Urgo, could be male or female depending on which Jogress parter is dominant. Other reasons I consider Silphymon more male presenting are outside of it's design and due to other media. Digimon World DS, the second Digimon game I ever played (I played Dusk first and Dusk is the one I prefer) didn't have Jogress but still had the Jogress Digimon. Silpymon was the ultimate form for Aquilamon, a Digimon I always considered male because of Yolei's. So yeah, Silpymon being considered the ultimate of the Hawkmon line in DS is one of the reasons I always considered Silpymon to be more male presenting. But the biggest reason is actually from DS and in the Cyber Sleuth / Hacker's memory games. Valkyrimon. Valkyrimon is the canon mega for Silphymon and despite in mythology Valkyries being female, it's clearly stated in a number of places that Valkyrimon is canonically male. Urgo, Silphymon has to be canonically male. And much like Silpymon, Valkyrimon has a pretty lean, but still masculine build. Now while I do admit Silpymon could be seen as androgynous, these are the reasons it comes across as male presenting to me and why that is less the case with this fictional Daphnismon, but I can see people taking it the other way, this is just how I see them and too me, Daphnismon looks like a more covered up version of Quiet from Metal Gear or even really female marines / navy seals in general.
@@kitsu1379 Ok let's start with Valkyrimon take a look at the legs the lace like coverings resemble those worn by Ballerinas. Additionally the breastplate & armor hide the female humanoid features, while the namesake Valkyries are female. Even if depictions of it are referred to as male it is common in gender confusion for someone to be referred to as male default. The question is whether you see the bird or angel as being dominant. Birds tend to give more feminine (in humans) traits to the males so I can see why the androgeny response works so much. I agree Silphymon is quite androgenous when looking back although Daphnismon is equally androgenous. I still think of Silphymon as more feminine though probably out of childhood bias watching 02.
@@bookmew1081 I tend to think Aquilamon is dominant, but again this ties in with the DS era Digimon games because, as I said, in Digimon World DS it it the ultimate of the Hawkmon line rather then a Jogress and in Dusk / Dawn, where it is a Jogress, the base digimon requires bird exp to become Silpymon, meaning it is more closely tied to it's bird aspects. The fact that Valkyrimon then needs holy exp is second to that in my eyes. Also Valkyrimon's design, at least to me, is less ballerina, which doesn't negate male aspects since male ballerina's are a thing, and more greek or roman in design. It makes me think of the Greek God Hermes. But if you see a gender neutral form then that's fine. You're right, it does really come down to which one you think is dominant, Gatomon or Aquilamon. I lean more towards Aquilamon because despite Gatomon's voice being clearer in the english dub, to me Silphymon and by extent Valkyrimon are just more associated with Aquilamon and Hawkmon then Gatomon and Angewomon, I admit, this is mainly due to the games I first became aware of Valkyrimon, Digimon World DS. You're not wrong if you see Gatomon as dominant since it is a Jogress of two digimon. In some Jogresses into Silphymon, the Gatomon will be dominant and thus, female presenting and in others the Aquilamon will be dominant and thus male presenting. Another reason I think I lean towards Silphymon and Valkyrimon being more closely linked to Aquilamon is because we have no other canon Ultimate and Mega for Aquilamon. But for Gatomon we have Angewomon and Magnadramon so we don't need Silphymon and Valkyrimon to fill that gap and thus, they're male because Aquilamon is male.
@@kitsu1379 Yeah I agree with you that Aquillamon desperately needed its own Ultimate & Mega. To me I just can't see Sylphymon as the true Ultimate of Aquillamon because of the Gatomon & Angewomon aspects. Aquillamon's other Ultimate is Garudamon which Birdramon became before it. While it could have happened as a result of Yolei bonding with Sora in some adventure that still wouldn't be giving Hawkmon its own Ultimate or Mega. Cody & Armadillomon have it so much worse though. You're forgetting Ophanimon, although the Season 1 Angels get a lot of special treatment. Yolei & Cody suffer from not being 1 of the Original 8 or the main pair of 02 Davis & Ken. Shakkoumon wasn't nearly as strong as MagnaAngemon & that's not even counting Seraphimon or Golddramon the Megas of Angemon alone. TK's Digimon partner was overpowered.

I've seen oc biomerge forms for the 01 children, most of them are strange, but I like Kari and gatomons, Rakshamon

Always felt not pairing Hikari with Ken for a Jogress was a missed opportunity. A fusion of Darkness and Light.
Hikari had so many opportunities for Jogress, her with T.K and her with Ken.

Okay, idea for a sequel to this... Ken and Lolei as DNA Partners. Maybe playing of the idea they end up married in the future, I kinda always wished there was at least some kind of hints for that pre epilogue. In addition their chests I feel would would work really well together. Kidness, Love, Sincerity/Purity those things kinda go had in had. In addition you mentioned there is an insect out there called a "Hawk Moth" and that I feel could work for inspiration for a Aquilimon/Stingmon fusion as well. Maybe even though in some "Love Bug" terms and inspirations, maybe keep Aqulimon's wings on the back of the fusion ... could maybe even have some loose Cupid elements with Bird/Angel wings on the back... As for a name... Euphamon? Mixing "Eumorpha Typhon", the name for the hawk moth and euphoria , just being in a general state of happiness.... I don't know the name was hard. I kinda want to draw this myself now actually XD.

I always felt like TK and Davis should have been DNA partners. It was very clear that they were the Tai and Matt of the season. Their rivalry never got a conclusion. It just ended once the Digimon emperor was defeated and Davis unlocked champion for Veemon. It was another unfinished character arc.
Cody and Ken should have been fusion partners because for majority of the first arc and part of the second arc Cody and Ken had an arc together where Cody really disliked Ken, like he even said he hated him at one point, and couldn't find himself to trust Ken post-emperor arc. Cody was the last of the kids to fully trust him(which could have ended with them two activating DNA Digivolution). Cody and TK even has that moment inside the Digimon emperor base where TK and Cody vocally beat up Ken with facts and logic.
I think Yolei and Kari was the only spot on partners. Not because they're the only female leads, but because their story arc revolved around them learning more about love, purity, how to be the light in the darkness, and of course each other. They have the most well written character arcs that lead to them becoming partners.
I always felt that Cody and TK fusion was just shoehorned because they was the last two left. The way it even happened was so anti-climatic that it wasn't even earned. TK just goes "OK Cody let's do it" as if they tried DNA Digivolution before the debut episode. I could understand if it was a movie explaining the pairing of each child or a special, but it wasn't. There was no build up or anything. Alas this is just another issue of the craziness and inconsistency that was the writing staff of Zero Two. Davis and TK SHOULD have been partners.
Goddamn Season 2 was a mess but I love it so much because it has so many what ifs and potential.
I wish there was a Digimon adventure 02 reboot which will be a sequel to Digimon Adventure 2020. In this reboot TK will be the second in command instead of Ken

I feel like canon did build up for Cody to be Ken's. And Kari being Davis' (and him clearly saying he doesn't have a crush on her any more but is glad she's one of his best friends) would have been nice. TK is Yolei's neighbour, so it would have been nice if their different family issues got contrasted. TK remembering how talking to Matt in digital world about how he felt helped them become better brothers and passing on that advice to Yolei could have helped her become a better sister to her older siblings and learn to appreciate them.

I do have a video suggestion that kinda ties into this one, though, as a potential for down the line: What if the older Chosen/Digidestined and the younger Chosen/Digidestined had the capability to Jogress? Like, for example, Miyako and Mimi? Iori and Jyou? I think it's be interesting to see and would definitely be an exercise in creativity!

Oooo these are some awesome fusions! They are all honestly pretty epic. I love the blade like wings and helmet of Bahamumon! Damn this is stunning! He's got the fierce noble warrior thing going. Daphnismon would be amazing to see in motion! You KNOW they could come out swinging, landing some heavy kicks and slashes before kicking some distance and finishing it with a shot from their Sniper Arm Canon. And Vapulamon (? You didn't include the spelling on screen XD) looks so cool too! There is some ancient wisdom in those eyes!
Additionally, I love the coincidental similarity, or at least through line between the three. Two warriors and an almost savage beast, an angel a demon and a warrior man.

Hmm great questions! I didn't have time in production to do an Imperialdramon equivalent but definitely something to explore in future!
If we're working with existing Digimon, SlashAngemon seems like a similar enough upgrade for an Angel with a 'Draconian' sense of Justice.
Or if we take the Dragon-Man tribal divergence, you could feasibly transition to the Royal Knight UlforceVeedramon from Bahamumon's design, too...

I think my favorite of these 3 has to be de Anquilomon and Aquilamon design. It's so rad! And I'm really impressed at how the artist made a jogress between Gatomon and Stingmon work that well!
Along with your video of what an armor digievolution would look like for Armadillomon and Hawkmon if they got to combine their pair of digimentals, this video really shows me what a talented bunch of artists the Digimon fandom has!! Great work all of them.

I feel that Ken is the one 02 Chosen Children who can really pull off the DNA Digivolution with any other Chosen Children
1. Yolei eventually marries Ken, so having them paired together early could really feed into the dynamic
2. TK and Ken did have an actual fight in the Digimon Emperor's base after TK realized that Devimon was used in the creation of Chimeramon. Would be an interesting plot point to take
3. Cody is the last Chosen Children to forgive Ken's past as the Digimon Emperor, which would tie in nicely as the final pair to unlock DNA Digivolution
4. Kari, as Karn explains, shares the Dark Ocean link with Ken
This definitly deserves a part two, so many cool options to explore!

These are all amazing! I wish 02 had treated jogress more like Steven U treated fusion. Seeing a combo of all the partner Digimon would be sick. (I’ve long maintained the Imperialdramon Paladin Mode should have been a jogress of Imperialdramon, and the two other ultimates from that season)

Bahamumon is fucking sick!! I've always been a big angemon fan and was highly disappointed in its DNA with ankylomon so seeing bahamumon is definitely a breath of fresh air...wish it was canon

I was actually watching a match from the tcg where they Jogress Angemon and Aquilamon into Sylphymon and I realized how perfect that actually looked. Started racking my brain cause I wanted my boi Armadillomon to get something better. So I decided to jogress Ankylomon and Gatomon. And best I came up with was switching levels around and having the jogress become DinoTigermon. It was the best I could do but so super happy to see this video Karn.

If you ever do another video like this, I think it would be cool to see other DNA digivolutions like taking swift Stingmon and combining him with slow Ankylomon's awesome defence since Cody was the most against Ken joining them. I think a combination of ExVeemon and Aquilamon would be an interesting sight but TK and Kari would basically have God with the fusion of their angels so maybe pair Yoli with TK and throw Davis a bone and combine Gatomon with ExVeemon for a sassy jokester. These artists are all amazing with their works.

I really love Daphnismon.
While it's a shame to see another Gatomon Jogress change from the female presenting of Gatomon to the male presenting of her Jogress partner, I feel Daphnismon looks androgynous enough to pass for either, unlike Silphymon. I also like that despite sharing the butterfly connection and a link to the Wormon line like Hudiemon, it seems more like a completely different digimon over a counterpart or related species.
It has a sleek design that I think blends Gatomon's feline grace and the speed aspect of Stingmon well, I imagine it would move something like a gymnast, graceful and light on it's feet but still having a power behind each movement. Though I don't think it's wings would do much for speed flight since they're quiet large and as we seen with butterflies, they aren't that fastest or most efficient fliers. So I imagine that while Daphnismon could use it's wings to fly, it mostly uses them to slow it's decent when it takes a flying leap or to land silently when it drops down behind foes from a higher vantage point.
This makes me wish there had been a arch in 02 where the Jogress partners did get swapped, maybe out of necessity. Maybe the 02 kids end up in the Dark Ocean, Kari and Ken would probably have been pulled in at similar times due to their innate connection to it and in order to survive, their partners needed to become stronger in a way they couldn't with conventional or armour digi-volution and Ken and Kari having to rely on each other so much could have been what led to Gatomon and Stingmon forming Daphnismon.
And if these pairs did come from a Dark Ocean arch, it could also tie in to why the Aquilamon - Ankylomon Jogress (I'm not even going to try and spell it's name) comes out slightly demonic. These Jogresses, while powerful, aren't the natural Jogress of the Digimon, which brings out darker aspects of their Digimon coding. Like, in order to achieve these Jogressed forms, they've had to take in some of the evil that makes up the Dark Ocean, though I don't know how that would work with with angel dragon man of TK and Davis' Jogress... And I'm gunna stop there because I've basically started writing the synopsis for a fanfic at this point XD.
Silphymon is much more feminine looking than Daphnismon are you crazy?
@@bookmew1081 With Silpyhmon seeming more mascline to me, I think it partially ties into a couple of factors outside of just it's appearance, though it does have a very male like appearance to me, similar to Garudamon and why as a child I always though the Biyomon line was meant to be male. Silpymon's appearance seeming more male is because it looks like a shirtless guy in terms of torso, very clear, defined muscles and no feminine curves. Also Silpymon, despite it's torso colouring, looks like it takes way more from Aquilamon the Gatomon.
Reason I say Daphnismon seems more androgynous in design is because the design is so much slimmer and sleeker, while there are aren't curves, because it's wearing a tactical vest, you can't see defined male musculature either. Urgo, could be male or female depending on which Jogress parter is dominant.
Other reasons I consider Silphymon more male presenting are outside of it's design and due to other media. Digimon World DS, the second Digimon game I ever played (I played Dusk first and Dusk is the one I prefer) didn't have Jogress but still had the Jogress Digimon. Silpymon was the ultimate form for Aquilamon, a Digimon I always considered male because of Yolei's. So yeah, Silpymon being considered the ultimate of the Hawkmon line in DS is one of the reasons I always considered Silpymon to be more male presenting.
But the biggest reason is actually from DS and in the Cyber Sleuth / Hacker's memory games. Valkyrimon.
Valkyrimon is the canon mega for Silphymon and despite in mythology Valkyries being female, it's clearly stated in a number of places that Valkyrimon is canonically male. Urgo, Silphymon has to be canonically male. And much like Silpymon, Valkyrimon has a pretty lean, but still masculine build.
Now while I do admit Silpymon could be seen as androgynous, these are the reasons it comes across as male presenting to me and why that is less the case with this fictional Daphnismon, but I can see people taking it the other way, this is just how I see them and too me, Daphnismon looks like a more covered up version of Quiet from Metal Gear or even really female marines / navy seals in general.
@@kitsu1379 Ok let's start with Valkyrimon take a look at the legs the lace like coverings resemble those worn by Ballerinas. Additionally the breastplate & armor hide the female humanoid features, while the namesake Valkyries are female. Even if depictions of it are referred to as male it is common in gender confusion for someone to be referred to as male default. The question is whether you see the bird or angel as being dominant.
Birds tend to give more feminine (in humans) traits to the males so I can see why the androgeny response works so much. I agree Silphymon is quite androgenous when looking back although Daphnismon is equally androgenous. I still think of Silphymon as more feminine though probably out of childhood bias watching 02.
@@bookmew1081 I tend to think Aquilamon is dominant, but again this ties in with the DS era Digimon games because, as I said, in Digimon World DS it it the ultimate of the Hawkmon line rather then a Jogress and in Dusk / Dawn, where it is a Jogress, the base digimon requires bird exp to become Silpymon, meaning it is more closely tied to it's bird aspects. The fact that Valkyrimon then needs holy exp is second to that in my eyes.
Also Valkyrimon's design, at least to me, is less ballerina, which doesn't negate male aspects since male ballerina's are a thing, and more greek or roman in design. It makes me think of the Greek God Hermes.
But if you see a gender neutral form then that's fine. You're right, it does really come down to which one you think is dominant, Gatomon or Aquilamon. I lean more towards Aquilamon because despite Gatomon's voice being clearer in the english dub, to me Silphymon and by extent Valkyrimon are just more associated with Aquilamon and Hawkmon then Gatomon and Angewomon, I admit, this is mainly due to the games I first became aware of Valkyrimon, Digimon World DS. You're not wrong if you see Gatomon as dominant since it is a Jogress of two digimon. In some Jogresses into Silphymon, the Gatomon will be dominant and thus, female presenting and in others the Aquilamon will be dominant and thus male presenting.
Another reason I think I lean towards Silphymon and Valkyrimon being more closely linked to Aquilamon is because we have no other canon Ultimate and Mega for Aquilamon. But for Gatomon we have Angewomon and Magnadramon so we don't need Silphymon and Valkyrimon to fill that gap and thus, they're male because Aquilamon is male.
@@kitsu1379 Yeah I agree with you that Aquillamon desperately needed its own Ultimate & Mega. To me I just can't see Sylphymon as the true Ultimate of Aquillamon because of the Gatomon & Angewomon aspects. Aquillamon's other Ultimate is Garudamon which Birdramon became before it. While it could have happened as a result of Yolei bonding with Sora in some adventure that still wouldn't be giving Hawkmon its own Ultimate or Mega. Cody & Armadillomon have it so much worse though.
You're forgetting Ophanimon, although the Season 1 Angels get a lot of special treatment. Yolei & Cody suffer from not being 1 of the Original 8 or the main pair of 02 Davis & Ken. Shakkoumon wasn't nearly as strong as MagnaAngemon & that's not even counting Seraphimon or Golddramon the Megas of Angemon alone. TK's Digimon partner was overpowered.
