    Great video. I've been on youtube for years and have shown how to make cards, lose weight, survive in nursing school, my wedding, etc. I'm not pushing to make a living from this platform, just share how I'm tackling my life with hopes to inspire someone. Plus it's tricky to upload because I work two jobs and am still in school. Anyhow thank you again for sharing!

    Thank you! Lots of great information! Now to just get over my shyness and show myself on camera. I do need to work on the silent parts. I do my best not to let there be silence, and talk about something else I will be posting or working on. Thank you so much for showing your camera set up! I do like your set up, very much!

    These are GREAT tips! I started my channel March 2024 and just hoped for 25 subscribers. Now I’m getting close to 1k, I’ve learned so much, and my quality is so much better than the beginning. 😊

    Thanks for your tips. My channel is still small although I’ve been on RUclips for a while. I had to stop uploading due to ‘life’ stuff but just uploaded a new video that is gaining more traction than I expected due to an 8 month hiatus. I know my issues are uploading in a consistent basis, so I’ll try to factor that in. Thanks for your video! I’m a fairly new subscriber and love your content. 😊

    I have uploaded some cardmaking videos onto youtube. I started a channel a few years back. I was "encouraged" by a coworker who loved my cards and was interested in how I made them. Fast forward, my videos continued to get better as well as my editing. I guess, I want to continue doing videos and watching this video you created, has me encouraged!
    My question to you: do you use a stream deck and, I guess I need a good tutorial on how to set up and use. Any help is GREATLY appreciated!!

    Fantastic! I started my channel in October 2023 and I’m getting there slowly, but it is a hard slog! The info on the equipment you use is very helpful and I’ll definitely take a look at those lights as I think the lighting is something I seem to have issues with the most. Can I ask, one thing I don’t do is consistently post the projects with a RUclips link to any other social media I.e. Facebook groups, do you think this makes much of a difference to your engagement? Thank you for taking the time to put this video together, I hope you get the views it deserves.

      Hi Donna, I think it does make a big difference if you are posting elsewhere and not just relying on RUclips to push your video out. I do it straight away and then sometimes also remind people a few days later too :-)

    Hi Lou, thank you for this youtube video. Question: Are you working with an I PHONE or Android? And why? And how long is it taking you to edit a video? I am trying to start a youtube this year, but the editing holds me back still.

    • @LouCollins
      @LouCollins  9 дней назад +1

      I use an iPhone and across other apple products like my iMac I do my editing on. I like the compatibility of them all but also I enjoy iMovie for easy editing which is only available for apple devices.

    Interesting. I don't have a channel but I do have questions! At what stage does a channel become "monetised"; Does it make a difference to what you earn if your subscribers give you the "thumbs up", share, or comment? Does it make a difference to what you earn if your post is viewed quickly after you've posted it? Sorry, that's a lot of questions but I thought they might help people who are contemplating starting their own channel. Thanks Lou x

    • @LouCollins
      @LouCollins  10 дней назад +2

      @@lindastubbington6105 hi 👋 So to become monetised you need to have 1000 subscribers and at least 4000 hours of watch time over the past 12 months.
      Revenue only comes from viewers watching the ads placed before or during your videos so liking or commenting won’t increase the earnings HOWEVER, It can help with the video being pushed out to more people by RUclips, and so more views, more revenue. If you publish a video and it is instantly engaging a lot of people then as a general rule, YT will see that as a good video to push to more people. If there are low views and interaction at the start, the likelihood is that it will simply disappear and not show up suggested anywhere x

    • @LouCollins

      @@ronaldkent1971 I just remember that all comments help the algorithm, regardless whether they are good or bad so I think them and be super polite. It annoys them more anyway 😆
