Physical attractiveness is the initial draw. Personality and energy are more important but not something that can be gleaned at a glance. But for a rationship to be romantic a base level of sexual attraction needs to be there.
This doesn't mean 10s by any means. Myself and a few men I know would prefer a woman at a 7 or a 6. . Men don't exclude women because they aren't 9s or 10s. But they will exclude a 4 who shows no interest in her own health, has a resting b*tch face, or spends most her time in her phone and instagram.
Theirs a difference between someone who is a 7 or 8 (I'd probably give her a 6 or 7) with enough self awareness to know that and use it. Than someone who thinks they're something they're not. .
