This one's arm cannon strikes a perfect balance between G1's questionble small shape and Bayverse' super weapon. Cyberverse can have some super cool figures. The Deluxe, like Cheetor and Slug, are great cyberverse figures. I also love the quickdraw Dead End.
I was given this by a relative for Christmas once. “It was on my Amazon wish list” they said. Siege Shockwave was on my wish list. But hey, this is a great figure, & I’m not complaining.
I actually modded mine to have an elbow on the canon arm. Just sliced/sawed through the arm right where it butts up to the gun part and the pin for the gimmick acts as an elbow and is surprisingly tight enough for posing. I also added a flexible LEGO hose between the gun and backpack. Fun fact: this is how he appeared in the IDW comics as well so it has even greater shelf versatility.

He still stands on my shelf today with my other Decepticons as my definitive CHUG Shockwave.
I've been trying to tell people just how fun this Shockwave is since it came out, but most people just don't care about the Cyberverse toy line from how bad the beginning was. But this is probably my favorite voyager sized Shockwave too, ended up repainting mine into a new form for Energon Shockblast though.
The extra arm seems a logical modification Shockwave would give himself being a scientist and inventor, so likely wishes he had more arms. This version took it seriously.
I took the hose from the Authentics Shockwave and fitted it to this one. The hose will connect from Shockwave’s back and connect to a point on his gun arm. It looks great.
I’ve seen people do mods with Gundam parts. Or maybe find a 3D print hand for a same-size figure? Officially, if you had a junker/parts TF, with similar hands, you could use that. All good ideas!
Nice review, I am glad that you didn't pick it apart and compare it to the newer toys aimed at adult collectors. If you had a 3D printer you could make a small cannon for his left hand.
I have this guy in my collection. Not the most ground breaking, but it's quite impressive for a gimmick centric toy. Also love that this can double as IDW G1 Shockwave.
Shockwave is probably one of if not my favorite decepticon but my favorite toy shockwave is planet x shockwave and that figure Is a 10/10 you need to get it. Also core class shockwave is pretty good
If you think this is good then you need to get cyberverse deluxe Cheetor because he is INSANE. It's more posable than most main line figures and his accessories are pretty good.
I understand one of my favorite shockwaves is the cyberverse spark armor one it's small but it makes me think of the real old action master transformers but the figure can transform as well as have armor gimmick. And i like the armor can form a separate vehicle satellite.
Shockwave looks like he scales right in line with the war for cybertron Optimus Prime and Megatron. Maybe a tad shorter. Can anyone confirm this? I don't have the Siege Shockwave as it is too expensive these days but I have both the Cyberverse Ultra and Deluxe Shockwaves and I have been trying to figure out which one would be a better stand in scale wise...
Recently got Authentics Shockwave. Articulation from the waist down - terrible, from the waist up - pretty nice, better than the Ultra Class. I really dig the look though the plastic quality is poor.
I know probably no-ones going to see this, but I have to get this off my chest because as someone who owns this figure, loves Shockwave and particularly loves his Cyberverse design, I feel like I'm being pranked. This figure is your favourite Shockwave, really? Why? Why do you like this? Why do so many people in the comments seem to agree? In the video you point out more negatives than positives and one of your main positive point is totally incorrect. Not only does it not have good articulation, it has impaired articulation even by cyberverse standards, which are very low. Plus, you can't even bend the knees without it looking weird because the knee joint is significantly displaced from the actual molded knee. You also state that part of why you like it is that you love the cyberverse design, but this is one of the least show accurate cyberverse figures. The gimmicks are kind of cool, but not enough to make up for the rest being how it is. It's not a terrible figure, but it's not a good figure either and definitely not this good. It's honestly forgettable at best. I mean I know how good a toy is is subjective, but I genuinely can't even imagine liking this figure that much, because it has so many objective flaws and only a few things anyone could possibly like about it. I just genuinely can't comprehend it. I am baffled. I feel like I'm going insane just thinking about. This is your favourite?????? THIS?????? *THIS???????*
I got this on sale for my brother-in-law/nephew (not sure who ended up with it). TJMAXX ran a special a few years ago. I got ultra Shockwave and Aloha Trion for $5 each. Alpha Trion is just OK, but yeah, ,Shockwave is decent.
You certainly know how to do intros right! Can I ask what attracted you to this figure in the first place? I've pretty much turned a blind eye to the Cyberverse toyline. I was intrigued by the deluxes but they're too expensive for what they are.

Shockwave's lore is crazy stupid, you would think TRANSFORMERS was all based around him with everything they tied to him. Really crazy time travel stuff, and it really makes you wonder about the supposed "punishment" he received.
This toy is genuinely far better than it has any business being. What confuses me is that you have bangers like this and then bricks like the ultra class bumble bee and stuff. Like some of them are awesome and some of them completely suck. Like why?!

i've found all Cyberverse figures to be garbage EXCEPT the most recent Cyberverse Slug. It's legit the best figure i've bought this year. Complex, interesting transformation and excellent robot and dino modes. And he would like to AX you a question (to the face)

Funny how Shockwave in the Cyberverse show has a personal drone which is his original left hand. Also his tiny spider buddies are adorable.

Within a bit of customization one might be able to mold in a second hand on the left "arm". It never occurred to me to utilize that arm! Looks good

Cyberverse has lots of gems. Wildwheel, thunderhowl, whirl, slug....people need to give the line a chance. I'd kill for a proper swoop.
