Oh my God! I was about to sleep. I'm daydreaming of creating a game. Then there you are posted again 😍😍😍. Thanks for insipiring us.
If you want to start making game you should watch brackeys c# coding tutorial, after that watch the action rpg guide on godot by hearbeast. thats how i started at least (:
@@FullCitris thanks for the information 😊
@@robinperalta7539 no problem (:
Love how every musical piece is listed in the chapters
When you finally get Photoshop, but you're still used to Microsoft Paint
Haha true. My drawing methods are a bit oldschool. Can't remember all the shortcuts
Looks so beautiful! A little cabin in the woods! ☺️👌I would like to see the inside 😖 but I must be patient. Thanks for sharing!! 😆👍
Yaay, thank you for making me happy today. I'd love to visit a snowy house like this.
Beautiful as always.
Extremely minor point, but if that external heater/boiler thing is being used to heat the house, then the exaust would surely melt the snow on top. (Also around the base revealing grass)
Your texturing is great, and the colour pallet fits perfectly! Awesome work!
You're so talented and HARD WORKING! 💕
I absolutely adore your style - this beautiful blend of precision and freeform drawing. And your game is looking phenomenal!
Thank you for sharing your process! 😊
Thanks Pixel Expedition! Glad you think these are entertaining / helpful :)
Awesome work, as always.
As a programmer with few art skills, I would love to see how you pick the colors for a piece like this! It's absolutely gorgeous! I can't wait to see more!
Same. I really wanna know how does he decide what colors go well with what
Glad you liked the colors! I've only recently began experimenting with color palettes, but for this one, it was a mixture of different sources. I'd say 25% from previous sprites that I liked, 25% from other pixel art games, 25% studio Ghibli color palette, and 25% experimentation. Overall, I found that having consistent saturation, and use of complementary colors are super important
I suggest using LOSPEC website or Pixilart for ur palette
Beautiful as always! I love the calming music and all of the colors that always match creating the perfect image!
Thanks! Yes, hope to slowly develop a relaxing atmosphere using art & music.
@@PixelArchitect well I far I think you are doing an absoloutly amazing job at it
it's so good looking! I'm excited about the final product !!!
ohhh I love how you did the snow piled up around the bottom of the house too! its such a nice detail.
This is great. Amazing job!
I like the winter design but i think its better if u add more design of each tree like there is one with no leaf, one with all snow on it(just like you made earlier), and one with just a small amount of snow cover its leaf. Make like 3 design of tree so it will make the game more lively (just opinion tbh).
Yes, that's a good point. In the actual game there are 3 variations, though haven't experimented with leaves yet. Will give it a try, and see if it looks good. Otherwise I might keep the fully white trees.
@@PixelArchitect Or also perhaps mirroring some of the trees. Or cutting the tree were i makes sense and so having a small tree. Love your art.
@@laniokami1730 That's a good idea!
I was so hyped seeing this on Twitter, keep up the good work !
Thanks! Working on improving some of the art and adding new maps atm. Hope to show more soon!
Ok last video before I go to bed. Love ur channel
This. is. amazing.
You just earned a sub!
Imagine the pain of having to record and edit this while drawing it
Not too bad actually! Though there is the added pressure of avoiding mistakes, cause it may mess up the recording a bit if you have to erase and redraw stuff.
seriously looking forward to this game❤️ looks so promising!!
Glad you enjoyed it :) Slowly chipping away at it but quite a ways to go haha
hey man i just stumbled across your channel and i want to say you are doing some amazing stuff. i'm a gamedev too and watching your videos has been a huge boost of inspiration. you've just earned a new sub, i hope there are many more to come! :)
Really appreciate the kind words! Best of luck with your gamedev journey!
Compliments great work, good music...Positve thinkings
OH MY GOSH !!! you should play manyland ! It's an online pixel sandbox , where you can build , create and do some coding and share with the community. The game isnt that popular because it's made by only 1 person . The whole game is designed by all the players. You will definitely TRANSFORM the game and peoples will love your stuff. The game is called manyland . You can go check it and give your opinion later.
By the way I love your stuff. What a real artist , SERIOUSLY . You know what you want to make and you understand your whole idea. You smart !
You're an inspiration.
nice work
The end product looks great
Great pixel art
Oww nice pixel artt 👌👌
fantastic
you are a such perfectionist and I adore you
amazing
Kudos to you and your art, an architecture student here 😊
thanks you video,so nice
The song at 9:50 is from Pippi Longstocking.
so coool! and pretty!!! 😆😆😆😆
When did your channel blow up? The last time I looked, you had 128 subscribers and now you’re at 30K?!
Haha got a lot of views after the town design video. Still can't believe it honestly. Just hope to be able to make good quality content to keep up with expectations
@@PixelArchitect Props to you for blowing up.
Another episode woot!
Just my opinion, you dont have to follow it, but I think you can make the trees with sharper branches. Right now they kind of look like melted candles. 😅
@@vivianle2379 Haha yeah they are a bit melted right now. I went back to adjust them right after finishing this. I can play around with showing some branches and leaves and see how it looks
I've been wanting to get into Pixel art, and I was wondering how you plan out your project before you make it. Also, where do you get your inspiration? I'd love to know!
For planning out each building, I start by determining its context and function. It's pretty common in architecture to research and understand the site, history, theme, before starting design. All of that information will help inform the design, and make it better. For this game project, inspiration comes from other games, architecture, movies, anime etc. Great to look at a variety of sources for inspiration.
I have a question: this game will be released on all platforms icluding android and IOS? Or only for Pc?
Sectioned out by song track. Nice touch.
Wooot more trees!!!
great but i would give the windows shines, do gradients for some areas and remove the outlines at the bottom of the objects
Hello I am Danie. I want to learn more about what you do. I started to use my tablet to draw simple stuff. I wish I can also do your magic soon. Enjoyed your video! :)
I feel like the music used in this video would go great with your chef RPG.
Haha I think so too. Will likely go for some piano/jazz music in the end
RUclips randomly sugested you to me, you got an isntant subscriber. Definetly going to buy the game when it comes out. Have you studied programing or are you just an artichect? Is your goal to finish all the aspects of the game alone like the developer from Stardew Valley?
Thanks! I did a bit of programming back in Uni, just the basics in C. I'm planning to work a few more months on it alone, but planning a Kickstarter to bring on music, writing, and hopefully another artist.
Do you have tutorials on Udemy or Skillshare? I would love to see a tutorial on choosing color pallets. your colors are amazing.
Hi from Kazakhstan!
(Next to the Russia)
Where you make this pixel arts?)
And this very well work :>
fantastic stuff, is it possible to download the palette you used for this one?
Amazing job, may I ask if you use your laptop/desktop to do all that or you use some sort of extra applications (e.g. drawing pad with an e-pen or something like that).
I'm used to drawing with a mouse. Though most artists use tablets these days. Lots of tablets can do pixel art
@@PixelArchitect Hey I have also a technical question. I know that it is not your position to answer or if you ever will but I would really appreciate >> How exactly did you crop a layer and extend or overlap. For example with that 2nd window at 06:20 - 06:22 or with the pavement 06:26 - 06:28.
@@TSUKILORD In Photoshop, if you make a selection and move it, it will automatically overlap anything in the same layer. If you want it to be placed under the object, you will have to move it to a different layer.
@@PixelArchitect ahhh I found where the issue is. The thing that you mention you can indeed do it with layers but not with layers that have been converted to smart objects. I had to change the type of those layers to do the magic you are doing ;). Thanks again!
I've gotta ask. What program do you use for your pixel art pieces and sprites? I've only ever been recommended Aesprite but I find the program limiting for what I want to accomplish.
I use Photoshop currently. Haven't used Aesprite so I couldn't tell you the differences, but I find Photoshop fairly good at managing large projects. It's also good if you want to use non-pixel art tools
i have watched a lot of pixel art styles and i really love your style it's a great thing neat , great color i really want to be a pixel painter like you i I'm planning to make a game about the beach , the jungle , a deserted island , can you give me some advice or tips to draw in your style , I love it , I wish you a lot of health !
Glad you enjoyed the video! Just recently published a pixel art tutorial that goes more in depth in my drawing process if you want to check it out :)
@@PixelArchitect it's great that you replied me, I would love to see more of your tutorials, it's very helpful, you are a great pixel art
Question! Usually, what canvas size do you use? I'd also want a pixel town for a game I'm making but I'm quite unsure what size to use.
Think it's about 600 pixels by 400 pixels here
What softwares do you use to program your game? I want to make a game as well but I don't have that much experience with programming
Using Unity. I didn't have much experience either and picked it up fairly quickly, due to the vast amount of resources and tutorials for Unity and C#
What is the size of this great canvas ? Can't clearly see it. Thanks
I will send this comment on all your video's from now on :) "Still here! :D"
What is the software in which you are making this art?
Question: Will you be able to adventure out and hunt for ingredients yourself, I like the games where you can adventure out more.
Yes, the game will be open world with large amounts of wilderness maps to harvest ingredients and hunt. I also want to make the gameplay flexible, so you don't have to hunt and gather at all if you don't want to
Thanks, I enjoy your videos a lot. Continue with your work on both your videos and game.
how do you organise your layers?
one layer or based on items or based on colors?
For this project, I'm organizing them based on objects, and which objects will be rendered on top. Eventually this will be imported into the game, so the layers need to be kept separate so that I can control the render order of different elements.
What's the dimensions of the canva??
Hey,
could you share your settings in order to draw as beautiful as you? For example Canvas Sprite and grid size'
Best regards
I believe its about 600 x 360 pixels.
What kind of game are you planning on making with this?
It's an open world Chef rpg/ restaurant management game
what is the typical canvas size you are using?
you should use aseprite!
How you do it all simetric ? How you find middle line?
May i ask you the size in pixel? Thank you!
I think this image is 600 x 360 pixels
@@PixelArchitect thank you
do u draw these with a mouse?
Yes, pretty used to it. I think most artists draw with pen and tablet nowadays.
@@PixelArchitect hey thanks for the reply yea i do pencil drawings and i was wondering if i could use a tablet to get into pixelart
@@Faulheit Yeah definitely! Probably easier to learn, if you can draw and start on a tablet.
@@PixelArchitect gotcha thanks man
The music some what depressing to hear in 2x speed...
hi
Why is that person there?
I'm guessing for scale reference
App name please?
that's photoshop
6 people need help
u can enhance ur videos by being very subtle with the music and give ur opinion and talk
cus music alone gets really boring after 30 seconds
