If I change my name from Greg to Allen then I expect you to call me Allen. That’s respect. Transgender individuals tend to find therapists first and go to counseling before they're even able to receive a diagnosis of gender dysphoria. Especially when it comes to receiving hormones or getting surgeries, transgender individuals must have written approvals to send to medical professionals before they approve endocrinologists/surgeon's meeting these patients. And it's not like your endocrinologist will immediately inject you with hormones without even doing blood work first. As a transgender person, there's a lot that you don't know about transgender individuals receiving medical treatment for transitioning (Especially if you are not transgender).

Students better all wear name tags if they want special consideration for how they want to be addressed. Also, I find it hard to believe that so many students have the genetic condition of disphoria. I think these kids who don't have the genetic condition, but only want to be considered cool and trendy, claiming they are transgender, are harming students who actually have the condition, (most of whom aren't asking for special privileges). Students and parents who want special consideration for transgenderism should have to bring in a doctor's report along with their genetic testing to prove they qualify for special treatment.
I agree with the fact that individuals who are transgender have gender dysphoria, however, I believe that we should listen to these students who believe they very well might be transgender. As well as allowing students to be addressed with their preferred name and pronouns first, that way they can see if they are comfortable with being addressed that way. Using someone's preferred name and pronouns should not be seen as a "special privilege" but rather just as a way an individual identifies themselves. When it comes to getting a diagnosis of gender dysphoria, not all students have the privilege of getting this diagnosis as therapy is required and counseling (not everyone has the money for doing such things). These students just want to be addressed and recognized as the individual they identify as, which shouldn't be seen as giving them "special consideration"

If the kid's first name has been legally changed and that is the registered name at the school that's what you call them. It's their name, you're not accommodating anyone. If John's biological dad last name is Doe, but his mother's husband name is Smith and the new husband legally adopts John (maybe his biological father died before his birth), after the adoption you call him John Smith as that becomes his legal name.

In that case, a child may not discuss their own family, regardless of whether their parents are a heterosexual couple or a homosexual couple. Also in that case, teacher may not mention their own parents, or their husbands or wives, regardless of whether they are heterosexual or homosexual. As far as the actual subject matter of this video is concerned, addressing someone by name is not about you, it's about the person you're addressing. In other words, you prefer to be called Darth. Whether or not I agree with the nature of that name or the reasons you prefer to be addressed with is irrelevant. It would make no sense to address you with anything other than Darth as you prefer because calling your name isn't about me.
It's also not a teacher's job to try to tell students who they are and what their names are.
I don't see any problem calling a student by his preferred name, as long as it isn't crazy like "Your highness", "The supreme leader", a cuss word, etc.. If Billy is wearing dresses and wants to be called Barbara, I don't see how it causes any distress to the teacher to call the student Barbara. If Billy has a beard, and wants to be called Barbara - that is strange and would take some getting used to. I think the school system is trying to avoid lawsuits, and that's why it has the "preferred name" policy. I think this should not distress the teacher.

Students better all wear name tags if they want special consideration for how they want to be addressed. Also, I find it hard to believe that so many students have the genetic condition of disphoria. I think these kids who don't have the genetic condition, but only want to be considered cool and trendy, claiming they are transgender, are harming students who actually have the condition, (most of whom aren't asking for special privileges). Students and parents who want special consideration for transgenderism should have to bring in a doctor's report along with their genetic testing to prove they qualify for special treatment.
I agree with the fact that individuals who are transgender have gender dysphoria, however, I believe that we should listen to these students who believe they very well might be transgender. As well as allowing students to be addressed with their preferred name and pronouns first, that way they can see if they are comfortable with being addressed that way. Using someone's preferred name and pronouns should not be seen as a "special privilege" but rather just as a way an individual identifies themselves. When it comes to getting a diagnosis of gender dysphoria, not all students have the privilege of getting this diagnosis as therapy is required and counseling (not everyone has the money for doing such things). These students just want to be addressed and recognized as the individual they identify as, which shouldn't be seen as giving them "special consideration"

It's lying to them, but it's their problem. It's actually the opposite of what pc would say. Lying to them is showing less respect for them, but showing more respect by being honest and saying, you're a dude in my mind, results in conflict that isn't worth it. Just play along and let them live in their fantasy. If it goes wrong for them and if they're unhappy or depressed, then they should blame the pc people who enabled it and claim to care more about them.
ps I was associated (not personally, but in a business sense) with a guy who thought he was a woman and lived as a woman... makeup, hairstyle, clothes... I said her and she, etc... About 2 years later, HE was living as a man (short haircut, slacks, shirt and tie...) and was probably happier. ...and HE made a much better looking man than he did a woman.

Being transgender is not classified as a mental illness, as it does not meet the necessary criteria to be considered a mental illness. You are confused. If the kid's first name has been legally changed and that is the registered name at the school that's what you call them. It's their name, you're not accommodating anyone. This is not the same as Jordon Peterson's correctly refers to as "compelled speech," or the use of invented pronouns and having to guess what gender someone refers to themselves.
If John's biological dad last name is Doe, but his mother's husband name is Smith and the new husband legally adopts John (maybe his biological father died before his birth), after the adoption you call him John Smith as that becomes his legal name.

There are 7 "transgenders" in my kid's class, and over 20 in the school. Almost every day they have some kind of curriculum that tells the kids they can change their gender. Strange times.
