I know he and his compatriots would be celebrating if I or any number of the people in various groups I'm part of got past tensed, be it by our own hand or somebody else's. Someone mentioned how it's common for extremist groups to feel around the fringes of society for outcasts who want the community. And up until quite recently, though it isn't completely destigmatized, furries were pretty outcasted. If not for simply being a furry, then for being generally not the best at social interaction

@@chainswordcs No no, I'm not saying theres any correlation at all. I'm saying that furries aren't the most accepted by those outside the community, so they first cling on to the fandom. They also tend to be lgbtq in some respect, so thats another point for being different. Then, Nazis come in, being part of the community means you get talking, and then eventually they end up convincing a couple furries to believe in what they believe.
Furries are already a group on the outside of the main stream, which is a key thing people who want to recruit others into their ideology look for. They have a decent target on them, so I understand why they end up happening
@@anothercub6958 People on the outskirts of acceptability tend to flock together, so even if random far-right recruitment trolls didn't make it official policy I expect we'd still see this kinda thing. I don't think human socialization is necessarily a reason-driven process, we're better understood as an amalgamation of engrained survival strategies vying for attention in deciding who we associate with and how.

Like, I used to deeply hate myself for a long time in my formative/teen years and I remember having some _gamer_ thoughts and ideas that I now realise bordered on this sort of behaviour. To think what could have happened if I had continued that path is honestly terrifying and makes me feel a bit for them. As fucking goofy and easy to mock as their lives were, I feel it's important to remember that our jobs as anti-fascists is to prevent this, not add to their suffering and justify their shitty worldviews.
Nobody is justifying their world views here. Most of these people are beyond reform and the less of them on earth the less vectors to the pipeline.
