      I love this idea. ❤However, does anyone know what happens to the trash once it has been removed? Of course, there is recycling, but not everything is recycable. Recycled into...? I know of a few household items that are made from recycled material, but what else? Some countries have no landfills. Where is this ocean trash going?

    • @julianaadams5751
      @julianaadams5751 8 месяцев назад +1

      @@nadinewebber4017 as far as I know, it IS going into landfills, temporarily, until they can figure out what to do with it. Possibly, the countries are utilizing neighboring countries. Maybe they can come up with some kind of acid type substance that will dissolve the majority of the debris, but is kind to the environment. But there should be a waiting period included in the testing to make sure that there's no change or breakdown in the chemical makeup to prevent possible problems 10 years down the road.

      You can clearly see how much organic material is being collected. Infinitely more than the plastic. Most of the plastic is thin walled bottles. Most of the organic material is solid matter. It is actually probably higher than 95% if we actually considered it by mass. Use your eyes and brain, and you’ll see it for yourself.
      As for the plastics causing cancer, again, what’s the real LONG TERM problem here? Lots of things cause cancer way more directly (smoking, BBQ foods, red meat, sunlight). We don’t seem bothered about those too much.

      The Earth will be fine.. We're the ones that'll be going away. 😳
      This planet has existed 400 billion years. It'll last another 400 billion after we're gone.
      Sure, virtue signaling by making a show of how %1 of the money we're all being taxed is getting spent gives us a warm and virtuous fuzzy feeling and all that... But it has nothing to do with the bill of goods we're being sold.
      We're being beaten iver the head with climate propaganda literally every day of our lives, . meanwhile, unimaginable amounts of industrial wastes keep getting dumped into our oceans and rivers and belched out into the atmosphere.
      But sure.... Please, since some people are too stupid to walk over to a rubbish bin, we need to build big solar powered barges so someone can make more plastic to dump right back
      Where it came from.
      Fact still remains, we will be gone, earth will still be here.
