Just followed your steps…it was awesome…the iphone pro 13 did an update before transferring but went to the transfer step right after. Was a little worried that the 13 pro max rebooted but connected to my old iphone right after….first time i didn’t have to login to every app…this is awesome. Thank you

Yes and no I mean you should really connect to Wi-Fi but if you connect to your cellular service that should work but it might take a little longer.
Did u backup or is this without backup?
@@ZyWolf18 yes i think when you choose the transfer in settings it will backup…but i think i also did the icloud backup too. And once you start the transfer between the 2 iPhones the wifi is automatically connected

Hi Jamie, I was scared to try to transfer and waited the full 60 days to do it. It was this video of yours that made it feel doable... and it worked flawlessly. I made sure they were both plugged in and side by side. It was really cool how it worked! It's my first SIM card I've transferred also and was able because you showed how (I used a very fat sewing needle :)

Works great. Went from a 8 Plus to 13. My rear camera didn't work from being dropped too many times but the front camera worked just as good.

wait so the selfie camera works for the transfer aswell? my back camera is broke too
@@Bruhngus420 Yes. My back camera was completely broke and showed only a black screen no matter what mode(video/photo). My front camera was even a little blurry and I was still able to grab the image with no problem.

I checked about 5 videos, and yours was the best. I upgraded from an iPhone 7 to the 13, and there were no issues. The transfer operation seems pretty robust over WiFi, so backing up the old phone to iCloud may not be necessary, for those in a hurry.
do you think i could do the transfer even if my storage is full? i cant back it up on my 7+ but my new phone has more storage. i’m so confused lol
@@jessicale65 Yes. My iPhone 7 was pretty full. I don't think you need to do the "backup to the iCloud" step. Even after the transfer operation my old iPhone 7 works fine ... except that I can't make phone calls on it, because the SIM card is in the iPhone 13. Don't erase the data on your old phone (unless you have to turn it in). It's a perfectly good camera, music player, RUclips video player, etc.
So, I now have 2 phones with all the photos, etc. Don't erase the data from your old phone, unless you have to turn it in. You can use the old phone as a camera or music player or play RUclips videos, etc.

hi jamie, before i knew about quickstart, i already set up my new iphone & i’m transferring everything from my old one to the new one with backup & icloud. is there a quicker way to get all my messages & in-message attachments transferred? because i cannot keep my old iphone for too long, i’m doing a trade in but they are giving me time to transfer everything. should i reset my new phone all over again & do the quickstart process?
I have an IPhone 11 so only show the resets option however I did follow every step of your tutorial ( BTW Very helpful 😀) as soon as the two phones are together the options for scan the access to the new IPhone 13 appears. The transfer was so fast that I afraid I was doing something wrong 😂 Everything it’s perfect with the and got all the information with safely. It really is! and thanks for the comment! please be sure to hit the like button and share this video with everyone! it's easy to do it and free! if your trading your old phone then you wanna make sure you Remove your personal information from your old device, sign out of iCloud and the iTunes & app store then go back to settings and tap general reset erase all content and settings. If you turned on find my device you might need to enter your Apple ID and password. If your device uses an eSIM, choose the option to erase your device and the eSIM profile when asked. I would also log into iCloud and make sure your remove your old phone from your list of trusted devices so activation lock is turned off

As far as iCloud it should be setup automatically but because your going to a new device sometime for security reasons you need to enter your credentials for apps and stuff

Hi! Do you needed to be using icloud storage to do this data transfer? Like for some people out there who completely dont use icloud at all.
it helps a lot but you can do it without iCloud

Yup. iPhone to iPhone minimizes logging in everything in, except some that require 2FA. Restoring from iCloud is not the easiest way unless you don’t mind logging everything back in.
Would the Notes App also be transferred with the things we typed on it?

anything you paid for will be available for you to re-download on your new phone in case it don't transfer over, you should never have to pay two times for any of that stuff, it should always remain in your account

Immediately after receiving my iPhone13 pro max, I began my original transfer but interrupted it because it was going to take several hours. A week has past and I haven't installed my SIM card yet, but have taken a bunch of photos (which are in the cloud and I can see from all devices). Do I have to wipe the new phone clean in order to do the transfer? Will the new photos come back? Could I be more clueless? Thanks in advance. Now I'm off to subscribe! ;)
If you just log in to iCloud on your new phone it will automatically sync with iCloud pictures and they will just show up on your new phone.

One note: If you sync music from iTunes you should not transfer music to the new phone. When I tried to sync after the transfer it told me I didn't have enough space. That's because it was about to make duplicates of 14,000 songs. So I had to go to iPhone Storage and delete all the music off the phone and then sync with iTunes. Wish I had known that.
Great Video! My daughter was in Europe and her Verizon Iphone 11 bricked. Had to send a new phone 13 with a friend or Fedex one for $225.. You can't activate a Verizon sim card when your off Verizon's network so you have to activate the new phone before you send it, or put the old Verizon sim chip in the new phone. This video made the process very easy! Jamie, make a video on what to do when a phone die's while traveling...such a pian if you want to keep you current #. Verizon won't ship. Hard to find any info on what to do, especially if have Verizon.

Hi thank you for the clear video on how to transfer from iphone to iphone. I do have 2 questions, when should I turn of the “find my iphone” and when do I return it to original settings because my phone is going to someone else so all of my information should be deleted and put back to factory settings. Can I still do that after I have taken the sim out or should I do that before transfering the sim to my new phone?
You can just do it whenever you want, the sim don't really matter, I would just take out the sim and get your new one all set up, and then when your happy and your new one is all good, then go factory reset the old phone. And remember to remove it from your iCloud account since your giving it away. You want to go into iCloud and remove it from the devices list or whatever.

Brother, thank you so much for teaching the great thing like this. I tried to do so but my old iPhone doesn’t have the Rest and Transfer option. When I selected Setting then selected General, then it came up Reset and Shutdown option only. When I selected the Reset and it came up all Resets....I’m wondering if my phone had any problem! My current phone is 12 promax with 256gb, can I transfer it to a new 13 promax with 128gb using this technique?
My current data only takes up 80gb.
But I overheard somewhere that we can only transfer from one with lower storage to a higher storage and not vice versa. Please reply! Thank you very much!

when it says transferring data to the new iPhone my bar doesn't move at all for both phones. recently I somehow got all my contacts and photos back on my new phone but I don't have my apps. can you help with this?
a few things can affect this such as how much data that is being moved, the connection type, and the network conditions, try to start the process again by restarting the phones.

you can always try it again or start over, but if you new phone is booted to the home screen you can always reset it and it will go back to the hello screen and you could do this video all over again

Is this method more geared towards people with low iCloud storage? Or is it just a easier way that the traditional? I currently have the 200gb iCloud option so which method would be best to use?

that's exactly the one I use and yes this works better using iCloud because everything obviously will sync much easier but this should work perfect for you because that's what I have. Just check in your iPhone settings under your iCloud settings and make sure you choose what you want to back up like you can turn on imessages and a bunch more stuff to sync to iCloud,

Hi.. i would like to ask. I’ve an issue where after I did transfer using this method, I found there is difference in storage usage right after the process completed. The gap is 20gb from the old iphone. Is it normal?
Yes it’s normal to see Different storage when you’re transferring from one device to another

I wanna know specifically with WhatsApp since you mentioned it. Do you get all your messages back and also DOES IT SKIP THE STAGE WHERE IT HAS TO SEND YOU A VERIFICATION CODE ALL OVER AGAIN? This is because I’m unable to recover my sim and I’m still using WhatsApp on an old iPhone. I wanna know if the transfer would have all my messages and not ask me to verify before I take this huge step. Thank you. Awaiting your response :)
The only reason that I can think that it might ask you for a verification code is because you’re actually transferring to a new device and sometimes it will realize it’s a new device and the prompt you for a verification code in reality that’s actually to protect you and your data that’s why they do it to make sure it’s you logging in so it might prompt you because you have a new device

It worked WITHOUT sending/requesting for a verification code. It totally skipped that step and I love WhatsApp or should I say Apple for that. I’m still till this day using that WhatsApp on my new phone. :)

Great video. I was scared but followed your steps and it was easy. BUT the new iphone 13 came with a Sim card.....I did not have to move mine from the iphone X to the new 13.

If you get the pro get the 256gb the 128 version camera is neutered. Can use 4K video with the new camera feature. Have to have the 256 GB to use it

I want to upgrade iPhone 11 to 11 pro max when I put SIM card into the new phone will my T-Mobile plan/bill stay the same? That’s my only issue from preventing me from buying it so far lol
yeah normally you can just move it over and restart the phone and it will work, but I would call T-mobile to confirm that and make sure you don't need an upgraded sim card for you newer phone

I think it's because it's part of getting a new phone, it might go away after a while I still have to check into that to see why
