That all looks so great! I was looking at their menu and some of the other items, like the Coronation chicken fritters, Loaded chips and Battered rare breed sausage also sound very tasty!
Love Mayfair Chippy. When our office was in Mayfair this was my favorite lunch spot. (Had to comment with both accounts it was such a good video.. ) cheers from USA.
Thanks so much for watching! And glad it brought back some memories. Btw the I’m using a Dji gimble for the smooth shots. I think retail about $150 well worth it.
If I was a uniformed member of the emergency services in central London, then yes. A 50% discount is no joke. Otherwise it's too expensive for me. Good quality though.
Down here in Australia in our Fish & Chip Shops (Chippies) is that you would Never Ever get Mushy Peas with your Fish & Chip Orders at any Chippie Shop anywhere here from places of any Towns &/or Cities all over Australia at all but the only thing you can only get is Tartare Sauce and also Vinegar and also a Slice of Lemon as well too & beside that (NOT) Only we have both Grilled Fish & Battered Fish but also these is Crumbed Fish that you can also have with your Chips & the Crumbed Fish Fillets is covered in Bread Crumbs instead of Batter of course.
@@Markstaxidiaries Also I forgot to mention to you that you can Crumbed Fish in New Zealand at any of their very own Fish & Chip Shops (Chippies) as well too of course. If you do come down here to either Australia &/or New Zealand, then you should try out the Crumbed Fish food products of both countries of course. & no worries at all that I did enjoy watching you with your Fish & Chips of course.
Mayfair Chippy ,, their prices are outrageous ,, unless the weight is specified a " regular " portion of cod is approx. five ounces. Any good operator will be able to get a yield of three portions per pound ( before the fish is battered ).
I would die for a fish and chips right now. You can make it yourself here in the Netherlands, but I never get the vinegar right for the chips. It's just not the same as the ones in the UK that I've had. Great video Mark!
My mouth is watering! It all looks delicious. Incidentally, did you know that in the Spitalfields/Whitechapel area there's a fish & chip restaurant called Jack the Chipper. It's only a street or two away from where Mary Jane Kelly was killed at the lodgings she shared with Joseph Barnett who was fish porter and her last meal was fish and potatoes.
I love to try to fly there from new york city just try fish and chips! Try all fish and chips restaurants in 48 hours. Flight attendants on British Airways ask are you travelling to the UK " I am moving there weekend for fish and chips" and cheerios!
Great vid Mark but I think you missed the point of authentic fish and chips, they should be done in beef dripping. Take a trip upto Yorkshire and blow your mind.
Hi Mark, recently paid almost as much for F&C in a local pub (you know the one). Not a patch on Mayfair and I counted the chips...got a grand total of 14! Now I just need to find an obliging policeman 😉
First of all those out there that don’t know London, Mayfair is on the Monopoly board the highest rated. House prices over £5 million a pop. Not many working class clients then. Pushing on You Tube for the tourist maybe? I don’t think its a chippy but a high end Restaurant, look at the menu.. Lovley photo of the village but as the man said frozen? Well try Norwegian Factory ships, well off shore, frozen at sea, boxed delivered, then thawed out in the shops. They supply nearly every real chippy in the UK, even along the coast of the North Sea, since we stopped buying from Russia. Was he caught out by the question? What he should have said, for the money, Fish brought daily from Billingsgate Fish Market London. Its an opinion but , but not enough F&C for the money. A few sides at £22.50. Your right about a Wally, but the other type of Wally is not like me as a Londoner to pay out for this snack.
Yes agreed it’s not a traditional chippy in the sense that the fryers are directly at the customers service. Thanks for your detailed explanation of the cod supply chain. I drove past yesterday and the queue was 100 plus! Yes mostly tourists, but the product is good. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Hi Mark how are you doing today are you going to do another colab with Tom the taxi driver and there is a fish and chip shop in Ruislip Manor high Street
Take ya bank manager with ya 😂
Straight as I heard his posh accent say mayfair chiyipee I checked out.
That all looks so great! I was looking at their menu and some of the other items, like the Coronation chicken fritters, Loaded chips and Battered rare breed sausage also sound very tasty!
Yes yes yes---the chippy! Love that place. I used to walk over for lunch time when I worked in Grosvenor Square. Thank you sir.

Gorgeous views.

Thanks Mark. Need to try that next time I am back in London
Great content, Mark. I need to pay it a visit!

Didn’t know that! The fish by my reckoning and I’ve had a lot is on the large side. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Why do you not have more subscribers??! Your channel is great!
Love the Mayfair Chippy. I was in London for a week and I went three times. Scotch Egg, Fried Houlumi and Mayfair Classic is the way to go
Going again this Friday and am gonna go mad in the scotch eggs again!
Great vid mark. Kudos to the chef, so enthusiastic about his craft.
He’s truly dedicated to his craft
Average price for fish and chips in my part of Cumbria is a tenner so for central London their prices didn't seem too expensive.
I would die for a fish and chips right now. You can make it yourself here in the Netherlands, but I never get the vinegar right for the chips. It's just not the same as the ones in the UK that I've had. Great video Mark!
Thanks for watching, the Fish and chips are waiting for you here
It’s called ‘Non brewed condiment’. Should be available from online suppliers.
Had takeaways many times, top dog fish n chips, & condiments the best especially tarter sauce, tried em all this is the best
Definitely going to have lunch at the Mayfair Chippy on my next trip up to town.....😊
My mouth is watering! It all looks delicious.

Wow! Didn’t know that, I’ll check it out. Did a small episode about the ‘Chipper’ a long time ago. Thanks for watching

I didn’t know we still got the 50% discount. Bang goes the diet when I’m back next week. Cheers Mark
Great work Mark. Well done and all the best.
Hi Mark great video as always 👍 do you do tours of London and can you be booked
@@baz041268I’m not actually a qualified tour guide but I do tours that can be tailored to your needs.
Why is the portion so small???
2 sizes available, large one I find is very filling
Great vid Mark but I think you missed the point of authentic fish and chips, they should be done in beef dripping. Take a trip upto Yorkshire and blow your mind.
Wow! That does sound amazing! Is the batter in the dripping?
Hi Mark, recently paid almost as much for F&C in a local pub (you know the one). Not a patch on Mayfair and I counted the chips...got a grand total of 14! Now I just need to find an obliging policeman 😉
Well worth a visit! The quality is amazing. I’ll keep my eye out for a rozzer!

Delicious but where is the vinegar, cup of tea in a mug and buttered bread?!
Where did you park. If you just want to pop in for a takeaway do you have to pay to park? Cheers
Parking is free for taxis on certain taxi stands
You can't get good fish and chips in London pal.😂😂😂
Try our seaside resorts, especially up North.
Fish and chips has no boundaries 😉
@@Markstaxidiaries I wonder where you are from?
I am guessing the South East? What would you know?
Regards,a Northerner.😉😁
And Scotch egg And pudding !!!! How did you squeeze back behind the wheel?
It was tough! But someone had to do it 😉
Now I'm hungry. Too bad I'm about 7,000 kilometres away.
Come and visit! It’s worth it
Looks like its in an old Underground station building
They don't offer a grilled option instead of battered?
Yep! Grilled market fish of the day
Yeah, OK I suppose, except it's in London.
Doesn't compare with Whitby Fish and Chips.
At 16 quid it needs to be good
It’s worth 20! Thanks for watching
Hi Mark how are you doing today are you going to do another colab with Tom the taxi driver and there is a fish and chip shop in Ruislip Manor high Street
Ohhh sounds good! I’ll reach out to Tom
Hubbards in Bow London.. 😋
It’s more to do with location than the best. Maybe in Mayfair but not London only a view others may disagree
served in a cardboard box.... no fakkin way...
You can eat in! I would recommend it thanks for watching 🙏🏻
