    Think about how sad it is that actors have to lead on a global issue instead of people who were elected or even inherited the power to produce meaningful change, do nothing but talk.

    • @Sivah_Akash
      @Sivah_Akash 3 года назад +2

      I'm more concerned as to why more actors are not speaking about this.
      Most of them for sure would have a larger breadth of knowledge than a lay man and thus would be aware of the impact of climate change. But most still don't talk about it. 🤷‍♂️

    • @brian2440
      @brian2440 3 года назад +2

      Actors arguably equally worthless..... it’s all talk.
      The fact that these people literally think this is going to be solved in 10 years shows how little research they have done.
      Hint there’s a reason why zero published scientific studies show transitions complete in 10 year timeframes. This is not because scientists and engineers are lazy, it’s because statistically this rate requires production rates that have such a low likelihood of success that it is statistically improbable and therefore infeasible or credible to publish.

      @@brian2440 Opening a dialogue on an important or controversial issue is a precursor to progress. The facts that these people are experts in dialogue and have global followings makes them valuable assets when trying to raise awareness for any given cause. The truth is self evident, and value is determined by the collective; not the individual. If the latter were the case capitalism itself wouldn't function. That being said, society itself has decided these people have value.

    I just wish I had a way to talk to my community realistically about this.
    Does anyone have any ideas on that?

      Watch Ted X talks, study great orators like RFK, read books and familalize yourself with all the data and intricacies of this issue, then start a dedicated social media account and produce quality content. You can even sell merch and donate proceeds to causes you support once it grows.
      You have the ability to reach the world, no generation before ours can claim that. What we do with it directly correlates with how we will be remembered by future generations.

    I feel sad for the rhinos issue he brought up, both of those females are too old to reproduce children safely now, so creating male mates for them would be redundant. It's really more a cloning science technology thing vs time limits of resources at this point. 👀

      They have retrieved eggs from both females and they were sent to France with sperm from the last male rhino to make viable embryos but utilizing another rhino as surrogate as not as easy as hoped. Ultimately they are functionally extinct due to lack of genetic diversity even if the lab could make it all work.

      @@mpaul4584 Not cherry picked. And computer is not a sentiment dude who makes models. Computers are programmed to process data using algorithms created by humans. Climate crisis studies started with studies about rise in temperature of earth. And data about this came from all around the world. Many studies by different groups of scientists, from many different countries have all separately concluded that global warming is real and is the primary cause of climate change, and whatever disasters occur as a result of it. There's evidence of it, papers published etc. You can go read them, and see what datasets they have used and what conclusion they reached based on it. Anyway 99% of scientific community agrees that climate crisis is a real thing so idk what you're gonna do about it. Not sure how much understanding of science and the scientific method you have but if you don't have any then it'll do you good to listen to actual experts.
