@@smcmotorgroup My AC charging issue was the Born half charged overnight which nobody could explain from October 22 to May 23 when I purchased another car. VW retailer’s solicitors then said in 29 June 2023 that a VW website had a small print footnote saying “VWG test data for comparison purposes. ….Charging time will be longer in cold weather or if battery safeguarding technology is activated.” It was in a VW website not Cupra and was copyright 2023 when I purchased in 2022! It was also very strange that nobody from Cupra head office or the retailer ever mentioned this during the six months of issues! So obviously they didn’t know what battery safe was or why it was relevant. It still means nothing to me, it is unexplained why it activates on what basis and when! But apparently means in VW parallel universe it’s ok for my car to half speed charge 75/80% of the time in an integral closed garage!!!!! I don’t think the footnote would suggest that an ordinary garaged vehicle will half charge so much! Just hope nobody else suffers with random safety!!!
@@smcmotorgroup On DC charging the VW Cupra Born didn’t charge 5-80% in 35 minutes stated but 50/55 minutes so basically less than 2hrs driving for 50/55m charging. Hopeless in my experience! Depends I suppose how long you want to sit in motorway services but a third of my time is way too much.
@@smcmotorgroup VW are well aware of these issues, won’t answer anything “difficult “ and instead have changed the website offering substantially. Gone are references to overnight low cost charging and recommending Ohme and Octopus and instead are more generic statements. Unfortunately this is of course the diesel gate business who said they’d learnt their lesson. Not for me!
Thanks! My right ear really enjoyed this video :)
Yes we changed our sound recorder and it defaulted to mono, we've fixed that for future videos. Sorry.
I have my cupra for 1 month nog and none of these tips were helpfull 😂
Glad I wasn't able to help.
My top tip would be to avoid the VW EV platform such as the Cupra Born
Why?

@@gesp5151 woow. Is this true? That's too low for a DC charging. I was actually considering it. But I don't think so
