Similar experience last time I flew UA First. The seat was really nice, fresh refit. The FA was so friendly and attentive. The drinks kept on coming. The IFE was good, worked well. Great music playlist on vevo. Was a short SEA-SFO sector but well worth the money. 1A, and one of the first handful of bags from the carousel, perfect.
Love the engine sound on takeoff. The first class service on this United flight looked and sounded excellent. I flew on a United A320 in economy from Houston to Austin on a full flight and the seats in economy felt very cramped with not much leg room. I was thankful it was just a short flight.
If you think this looks excellent for a first class cabin, you need to google those 3 words 😂

I personally love the seat design for both economy and first, probably my second favorite right behind Delta’s. Love the excellent service provided by the FA! Great video, as always.

Flew this on a 757-300 earlier. Holy crap the seats have so much storage! What I don’t like about the seats is their recline, and the fact that the seats are tighter than those on 737s. Great video as always!
I'll be flying from Columbus to Denver on United First Class this summer. Seems like a nice ride.
Awesome video! As for PTV’s, AA and UA have it all wrong. DL is doing the right thing here, and thank god we are flying them for my Alaska trip next year. I could only imagine what and 8-hour ATL-ANC flight would be like without PTV’s!

Hi. Thank you for your reports. One thing I would have loved to see in this (or your AeroMexico's) video was to see the Premium Class seats extended. I would have loved to see a sideways shot of the seat reclined all the way to have an idea how comfortable they are. For instance, when I flew Biz class in Aeromexico the seat would not recline too much and my legs from the knee down were at a 45 degree angle. Very uncomfortable. Think about adding that shot to your videos. :-)
I actually flew back from rdu a few days ago in a 737 and they had directv, also I sat first class.
Great review! I can rarely get the IFE to work on my device!! Ugh...so I read the crappy magazine or stare at the passenger next to me! 😂😂
How was the actual seat comfort and recline? Don't care about looks I care about comfort. Thinking of going first class from Fresno to Chicago this summer
I love the design!
The hard product (seat) looked fine for flights up to 4 hours. I would agree the seat-back IFE feature is just a nice-to-have on domestic flights. However, as a guy who flies DL 90% of the time the past 2 years, it's a jarring loss.
I know UA's been steadily improving the last couple years across several categories (arguably more-so than American), but unless there have been major changes in the past 6-8 months, I'm going to assume your first class FA was the luck of the draw. I've had very good service from FAs across all three majors, but DL sticks out by a long shot for consistency in that regard.
Food looked pretty average, but that is part of the continued trends towards domestic F meals looking a lot like domestic Y meals did 20 years ago, right before they were eliminated altogether.

Nice trip report! I think the removal of IFE was not a good idea, besides the cabin looks kind cheap to me, but the meal service seems was prety good and with a good FA it made the difference. Unfortunatly not always you are so lucky.

I will be flying this Airline a lot this year! I have it to KIAD, KPWM, KORD, KEWR, and KPDX! Looks good first class! (Even though I'll be flying economy lol)

Some 737s have retrofitted seats with the old DirecTV screens, like I flew IAH-ORD 2019

There is no "removal" of PTV's when it comes to the Airbus fleet since they never had PTV's.

I haven’t been being on the flight since last 2007 years ago but I’m planning to get back to the flight next year of August 2022 to PA state and couple of years later I am planning to be flight to Vietnam in 2024

Unfortunately no, it’s there for those passengers continuing on as Polaris passengers on other legs of their trip

Good report but a shame the PTVs are gone. Weird they did not serve warm nuts or anything with the first round of drinks.

The removal of the PTVs is a terrible idea. If the WiFi breaks or the power outlets aren’t working and your device dies all you can do is rest read or look out the window, this seems like an even bigger issue in a 777 where they are flying across the world on 14 hour flights. Also, if United is gonna remove them, at least give everyone power outlets!! Not just customers in economy+ and first class!

Bartolo Vids they are trying to reduce repair costs but the WiFi repair and having an onboard wireless server probably costs the same or more.

do any flights have tv's on board anymore I'm a senior and don't have a tablet and trying to watch a movie on a phone is difficult if i can even figure out how to operate the damn thing . i always do first class but it seems especially in first class tv's should be in the seat backs for the price you pay if no other reason the covienece I stopped flying alaska because they removed the tv's I have talked to so many other people that fly especially seniors that are very unhappy with these airlines removing the inflight entertainment from the seat backs so frustrating
United is currently in the process of adding screens to their entire mainline fleet, so their A320s and A319s have a few of them with screens and bigger bins. Unfortunately, it's impossible to predict which routes they will fly as they are mixed to current operations. Their MAX 8s and 752s are guanrateed to have seatback IFE on the narrow-body fleet.
Thanks for the video. We will be flying about 5 hours to San Francisco on the A320 in seats 3A and 3B. Our first 1st class long distance. Will have to lookup a United 737-800 info now!
damit must be nice to be able to afford that airline and the first class. I would tell you my opinion if my family had enough money to get on that ;-;

I always more then appreciate the FAs that refill drinks throughout the flight in domestic first. As you said, Most of the time they don’t, and it’s first class.
Deltas domestic first is much better. Having a ptv makes a huge difference.

The A320 family with united is by far my least favorite family of aircraft they have. My favorite is the 737-700 because they have PTVs and wide windows..?
I never flew on their airbuses, but from this footage, i can tell that they are so old and dirty. I've usually flown on their 737s: twice w/ BSI and more than twice with their PMCOs with the relaxing blue sidewalls. What is your opinion on the blue PMCO cabins?

Pank UniKarn CO was rated the best until 2010. UA never got such rating
Justin Cui out of IAH/CLE/EWR with no first class...that means a lot. UA got horrible reviews after CO management took over. CO FAs sleep on the jumpseat.
Pank UniKarn UA also got bad reviews before the merger too. They broke guitars before Jeff Smisek ran CO. Besides, a PMUA a/c is less reliable than a PMCO. Did you also hear about the story where a PMCO gate agent was concerned about a passenger having a heart attack and had to report it to a zone controller, who was from PMUA and only cared about getting the aircraft out on time? CO didn't have 1st class because their Bclass was very good at the time, unlike PMUA, where Bclass wasn't as good
Justin Cui lol so ur saying airlines with first class don’t have a good business class product that’s why they have a business class? Ok LH and SIN lol CO LEASED their planes and UA OWNED theirs. You have read that a CLE ex Burger King employee is teaching how to do service in BusinessFirst service on the CO side ? Lol well nothing is to be expected from the class of passengers from those areas on top of JD power getting some money for their name being used when they are mentioned.
Justin Cui also if you want to make comments about safety, just ask if the AED was used on the crew member that had a heart attack in flight...maybe the COs were too busy sleeping on the jumpseat from all their high time trips

I think.British airways business class blows this out of the water. It’s a sad state of American aviation. Seeing this video I am canceling my ticket and going back to coach it’s not worth it
Thanks for this review. From my conclusion: United sucks. I had an international trip I had to cancel and I have an airline credit through United. I was going to use it to fly to LA. But they don't offer Premium Economy on those flights (NY - LA) so it's either be forced to sit in Basic Economy and be forced to pay to check a small bag I would otherwise carry on, or use my credit and treat myself to First Class. Thought I would see what their First Class looks like. I am surprised at how crappy it looks and the lack of actual amenities. People shell out considerably more for this and think they are superior for allowing airlines to take their money for this? Seriously? I will book First Class because it's all coming from my credit and I am not coming out of pocket for this (and I don't intend to pay to check a small bag), but if I ever want to treat myself to First Class, I know what airline I am NOT wasting money on.

On every United A320 in first class, the armrest loaded tray tables DO NOT EXTEND FAR FORWARD ENOUGH! THEY'RE ALMOST UNUSABLE, CUTTING INTO MANY PASSENGERS' ABDOMENS AND LEAVING A PAINFUL GASH MARK!
PEOPLE--INCLUDING MANY PEOPLE TRAVELLING IN FIRST CLASS--ARE BIGGER THESE DAYS!
Unlike Europeans from whence these planes come.
The tray tables are just about UNUSABLE.

Complete trash for first class if you ask me, worse than even a economy seat. Southwest was much more comfortable.
United domestic product is mediocre at best
Did any dogs die or was anyone dragged off the flight? United has become very down-market and this review did not help. The little inadequacies you pointed out add up to a big fail and that slop they served you as a meal was thoroughly disgusting and cheaply made! The alcoholic lush sitting next to you drinking sweet (ugh) wine should have had the right wine given to her not given a medley of plonk. Nope, I continue to stay away from this really below average poor excuse for a carrier!

Protocol Officer it’s not like you have a choice of flying on a Royal Amiri flight to IAH from SAN... this flight is 2 hours and change... just relax the FA did a fantastic job with the materials he has to work with.. what else can you ask for in this situation? Caviar service and a 5 minute hot shower?
caviar Service was a main feature on UA flights JFK-LAX.in the ninties....and on three hour flights like this they served on the ground californian sparkling wine in crystal glasses before departure.
