Actually it was the fault of the then army top brass who abrogated the constitution of pakistan and not allow the transfer of power to MujeeburRehman which lead the revolt against army rule .

Thank you! This programme brought lot of memories of fall of Dacca and POW’s. My own father was in Pakistan army and was posted in Khar border. As a 11 years old we used to write letters, send gifts to POW’s. I wonder if they ever got it or not. As growing up never heard the treatment of Pakistani prisoners treatment by Indian army. Good to hear that POW’s in these camps were treated humanly. Love bbc’s documentaries. Watching from America
But you know what happened to Indian POW ? We never received our 54 guys from 1971 war

As a matter of fact they saved his life from the crowd who would have otherwise killed him.

During their stay in Jabalpur army's custody, one expensive Rolex wrist watch was missing.
Rao forman ali blamed Indian camp guards for this theft. Which the Indian sepoy who did all the cleaning job, inside the prison camp, vehemently denied.
A thoroughly search followed, and lastly the " stolen " watch was found inside the bathroom.
Rao Forman Ali had to apologize before the Indian sepoy.

Not every soldier had committed war crimes, in fact many Pakistani soldiers were airlifted to Dhakka after the starting of war on 3rd December 1971

Someone is lying here bcz in 1971 1 USD was equivalent to 7.8 INR and 7.6 PKR, and i don't think any officer would be getting that amount of money. At that time avg salary of people varied from 200 to 600.

Pakistan was at war with India on both sides. When indian laid siege to dhakka 93000 troops surrendered their arms so they were taken as prisoners of war...they were sent to India after some time because Bangladeshis wanted to kill them all
