I wish they'd bring back "Adopt a Soldier" you would be assigned a Solider that had no one to write home to or no one to send them packages it was like a pen pal thing
Lost my big brother last year brain cancer. He was an MP back in 1979-1980. Lost the Sarge last month. Dad was 92 US Army retired 1952-1985. Give that twin my best regards.
I’m really sorry that you lost your brother and your father (Sarge was your father?). It’s tough I know. I have no doubt that we will all be reunited with our family and friends when we leave this place and that our loved ones are totally happy and healthy on the other side. I hope you can feel a little bit of comfort knowing that.❤️❤️
Those letters and packages from home are worth more than gold. I kept all the letters and cards I got when I was overseas. It was many yrs ago and I still have them.
I wrote a letter every day to my son while he was at Marine Corp boot camp - and then formed Houston Marine Parents, which started with 5 moms and ended with 147 parents - and we sent SO many packages to our Marines deployed. It kept us going and kept their spirits up while they were away from home. So thankful our boys came back to Houston, all safe and sound! Thank you for your respect to our military!
I haven't even watched your video yet but I'll tell you why this song hits home to me. When I got home I found the letters I wrote my grandparents when enlisted. They saved each one and I saved all their letters just as something to hold onto. Well I also found letters from my grandpa when he was in the airforce. Then on top of that I found letters from my great uncle when he was in Germany during WWII.
That is awesome!! We kept the letters from my eldest son to each of us when he was in Fallujah…and beyond… and he kept ours to him. Every generation of our soldiers covet them. I love our brave boys 🇺🇸🇺🇸❤️❤️
Thanks for your love and respect for our heroes, thanks to your brother for being our hero! May God bless you and yours buddy! Happy Independence day brother!!
I come from a long line of family members. My cousin was on the front lines in Iraq and as soon as we heard something bad we'd hope and pray that he's alright. He's been out of the service for 11 years and we still call Marine instead of by his name
combat vet here and care packages are everything. Whether we got them from home or some school kids that did it for a school project they were everything.
Mail call is huge when you are deployed. The last part of this song really gets me. My father was a very hard man. The first time I really saw him break down and get emotional was when he told me he was proud of me as I was deploying to Iraq when I was 18.
I love hearing your personal thoughts/feelings. You made me get tears in my eyes. You seem like such a nice guy and I enjoy watching your reactions ❤️🇺🇸
Love your patriotism and support of this country and all the heroes who defend it and have in the past! Without them we would be screwed. God bless and keep your brother! Next time you write him, please tell him thank you from a very grateful fellow American! Let him know we're thinking about him, supporting him, praying for him. Just recently discovered your channel and really enjoying it!
I'm former navy and my dad died at the end of March. When I left for boot camp my dad gave me a letter and told me I couldn't open it until I was on the plane. I love my dad but that asshole made me cry for that entire plane ride lol. So in an effort to keep myself from breaking down I'm trying to focus on a negative part of a letter from home. And it led me to a question. Does anybody else think that it should be a criminally punishable offense to send a tape of you cheating on your spouse. To your spouse stationed in an active war zone? That never happened to me but Jesus was it so much more common than you would think. There were 2 guys that I was with over there that got videos of their cheating spouses. And my cousin in the army said there was at least one guy in each of his 4 tours that got one. I think it should be a felony. The mandatory minimum sentence should be the cheating spouse's incarceration for the duration of the servicemember's tour in that area. He/She is there for another 12 months? The spouse spends those twelve months in jail. Mind you this is ONLY for sending the tape or pictures. Not for cheating....It is a dangerous and HUGE distraction to people that CANT afford to be distracted. It could get they and/or everyone around them killed.
You think this one hurts? Listen to the song called The Little girl by John Michael montgomery. It's the saddest fucking song I've ever heard in my life. I've got five daughters of my own and I beat an addiction and Jesus Christ I hear that song and I burst into tears every time. Humor me just humor me it is probably the saddest thing you'll ever hear in your life... Musically speaking that is.
The "Dad" verse chokes me up every time. 😢

My mom kept every letter my brother wrote. He was in the Navy. ❤ Respect and love to your twin and to you for honoring veterans.

Letters from home mean everything. A few minutes of something to distract you from the mess.
❤. Another good one. Your reactions are some of the most genuine, and that's what keeps me coming back.
Absolutely love it 😢❤
No words for this one
Thank you.
Shalom Shalom blessings young man. Keep on trucking!
My Homies always called me Big Country. After a while they shortened it and just called me Country.
He has another great sing called The Little Girl worth a listen
Man, My homeboys call me Big Country. Idk why? They just always have. They revised it down to just "Country" great reaction though bro. I subscribed.
This song always makes me want to get a military pen pall who needs support. Just so I can send them cookies and help them keep their spirits up.
😎😎
Fun fact: john michael Montgomery is brothers to eddie Montgomery (Montgomery Gentry)
