I worked graveyard at the time in Denver, CO. My teenage son came running into my bedroom and said that a plane has hit the world trade center. He had a friend interning at a firm at the world trade center. At first everyone thought it was just a terrible accident. Then the second plane hit the the other tower. My first response was shock. Then I started crying. It took 3 days for my son's freind to contacted his family. He had been sent out for coffee and donuts. There were no survivors in the office he was working in. To this day he thinks it was a true mircle he was sent out of the office. I lost a dear freind and my son's godfather on 9/11. I still cry on 9/11 to this day.
It's not just you. Multiple reactors have reacted in an emotional manner to this one. I think it's that you can truly feel the sincerity and know how real it must be.
I love the scene where all the soldiers are sitting there listening to the letter from Mama and eating the cookies she sent. They all look like they are 8 years old again, goofing off and telling "fart" jokes. I remember those days with my boys. And I also remember sending these letters and packages to my husband and son when they were deployed.
NGL, I can't count the times I've watched this video, and I'm not embarrassed to say that it still brings me to tears every time. Especially the letter from dad.
I hadn't heard this song before, but the tears were rolling by the end of the second verse. Roughest part was Dad said he was proud and it made the soldier cry. We appreciate it that you don't pause, respect is becoming more rare in our world and it's nice to see you express it when it's deserved. 😢❤🤠
i had not heard until i got back from iraq, and now i tear up everytime it gets to that verse, i still have all my letters and hold them very dear to me
I've watched every reaction video I can find for this song (and others), and I weep [nose dripping sobs] Every Time his buddies turn away so he can wipe his eyes in private. Daddy, He needed that! Thank you for sending him your pride! Former, Current, and Future protectors... Keep Being Amazing!
I love watching your reaction to songs that get to you. I don't mind that you don't pause. I've heard this song so many times and I still cry every time.
I remember writing letters and sending care packages to my brother when he was off fighting wars! He kept them all close to his heart! Grateful he came home everything!
Recky, first of all, Thank you for not interrupting the Video. Secondly, as a Combat Veteran, Paratrooper and Combat Medic thank you for the Reaction. It’s Genuinely Appreciated. DOC. CARRY ON SIR!!
Those letters kept more than one soldier going. I don't know if the program still exists but there used to be a thing where you could write a letter(being aware that it would be read for censorship purposes) to troopers who didn't get mail.
I was a junior in high school. I was in the office when it came across the tv. I ran back to class yelling at everyone. I had a family who worked at the pentagon and we were unable to reach them for hours and well live about an hour away. The fear and panic i will never forget
How mindsets have changed in such a short time. I remember everything of that day. I remember everything the day Reagan was shot. I remember the good and bad things thats have had a significant impact on my life. Its sad when cnn can no longer remember that this horrific event ever happened. My families heritage is swedish so i appreciate how you relate yourself 😊
Very nice song and very sentimental as well. But personally, I don’t think we should take a position by saying that this kind of song needs to avoid pausing while perhaps a song that doesn’t agree so readily with our own feelings wouldn’t deserve that same consideration.
Recky there are a lot of people who feel like you on some songs. It's a shame some people are so disrespectful. There's a song called Riding with Private Malone by David Ball or American Soldier by the late Toby Keith. I enjoy your videos.
Recky, it's your heart showing. Don't apologize! We are ALL your family now!!! Thank you for knowing what deserves respect. Stay well!

This song is as healing as much as it hurts. Thank you.
I love them!

It's because you are respectful toward deep feelings and situations (a wonderful attribute!!!), the source doesn't matter. Yes, the song was great!
Thank you!

I like the respect you gave this song. ❤
The fact that you feel that way shows your compassion for the men and women who hold the line and kerep us safe.
I agree, pausing stops the story line, especially when you heart connects with the song!

Same here. And I live here!
@@inthedarkanonymous5625 hahaha so it all makes sense!!
Yes. I agree it would be disrespectful. For reasons I won't go into, this was a very difficult video to watch. Thank you Recky.
My pleasure Don. I will always show respect!
You should check out Toby Kieths Courtsey of the red white and blue ( the angry American).
That was an honest reaction. I think you should listen to his song The little girl. But listen to it with Carol
The song “Letters from War” is more similar to what you were describing at the start. It’s by Contemporary Christian artist Mark Schultz.

Yes it was the most terrible day I was in tower one at world trade center 36 th floor got out right before it came down I haven't been the same since
