Man, what an earworm song and a great blast from the past lesson. I guess now you kind of have to also do a lesson on their song Eddie Vedder from the same album. You know it just makes too much sense.
I don’t know who I appreciate more, John for requesting it or you for teaching it! I’m always happy to see you come up when I search for a song, never tedious and always accurate. Thanks!
I usually don't comment on videos but I was so happy to see you made a video for local H! They're one of my favorite bands and it's sad what little recognition they have. I know I'm a bit late to this video but if you could make another tutorial for one of their songs that would be so great. I can rarely find any except for this song.
I first learned this song in 1997 from a magazine. I really enjoyed your video because I learned I was correct in how to play and right about the tuning, chords, and rhythm.
my grandson who is 5 loves this tune and hes a huge fan of the smashing pumpkins. I bought him one of those squire mini jazzmasters and he was saying its too heavy but that was about 2 years ago and hes getting bigger. Whenever i see him the first thing he says is "pa wear are your guitars?" . He beleives im in the foo fighters lol says it all the time haha. Anyday hes gunna realise the guitar isnt too big and this would be perfect first song so thanks man. Ive got this great pic of him when i gave him his jazzmaster hes standing there with the guitar strapped on and its like a mini tom delonge lol thanks again man
Your personality is the reason for my subscription. You know your stuff but you're not snotty about it and if you mess up you correct yourself with a comedic feel. And you made this easy enough with clear explanation for i(a drummer not a guitar player) to actually sit down and learn this so i can play my kit to it. I either need to get a life or find a decent guitar player to get some actual Music stuff done. Tis but a pipe dream but it's the only dream I chase. Skól, Per Ardua
I haven’t played these songs in years. How fun, thanks again. A little refresher course is always good. I’m old enough to remember first hearing about local H, what 1992?
Great lesson and a Great song .It sounds a little bit like a Filter song i'm not sure which one maybe it's "Where do we go from here".I'm probably wrong again, but i don't care because i'm Drunk !! Woo Hoo !!! P.S. It reminds me of the intro to "understanding" by Collective Soul (Brilliant band check them out).. ...UPDATE Still Drunk !!
Does sound like a Filter song. "Where do we go from here" I think you're right! **Just listened on RUclips. There is a Filter song, but it's not that one. Great song tho. Thanks for bringing it up!
not only are they still around, they have only gotten better with time. Just saw them open for Soul Asylum the other night. They were boring and I think Dave forgot some of the lyrics, but Local H KILLED it (as they always do). Their new album "Lifers", produced by the great Steve Albini, comes out in April. You want to have your mind blown, watch these about how they get so much sound from a two piece band, ruclips.net/video/ODH0FPkvU6o/видео.html ruclips.net/video/FTJDSYMTrJs/видео.html
Sure love the awesome work you did with this one. Been back here a bunch of times. Still trying to get a hang of what you're doing, but always have fun every time I come back to try again. Just sure be nice if I had a second guitar to keep tuned down a half step for it! 🐸 🎸👍
2/5/20. It was great that you showed and emphasized the Staccato sound to get the guitar to sound right. And nice to see your bonus of music theory for this song...Billie Eilish, a current star, plays the Beatles song “I Will” on ukulele in a Car Pool Karaoke video on RUclips at the 5:00 minute mark. In the Beatles version, you can hear where The Cars took a riff from “I Will” and used it in their “Best Friend’s Girlfriend Song.” Maybe you could do Billie Eilish doing “I Will” plus add in that riff that The Cars took. Take care, Ryan.
Actually Nissan570sx Local H has a lot more than 1 good song. They have a few albums where I can put it on and listen to almost every track. I highly recommend them. It's a 2 man band as well.
@@sevenn7pure I will check out more. So many bands. I have a few like that. Most people know one song but i dig the whole album. Presidents of the United states of America and fountains of Wayne. Thier first albums are worth a listen.
Wait, I thought his guitar had a bass pickup and was strung with part bass strings? Kinda like he eliminated the most useless guy in the band (lol...j/k) hence them being an awesome 2 piece.
@@RyanLendt Here it is. I saw them live and a guy would run from backstage, come out play tambourine, go back and come out and play a lead. No bass though. ruclips.net/video/FTJDSYMTrJs/видео.html

I grew up in Chicago suburbs and they would frequent a local bar in my town multiple times a year. They put on a great live show!

To play it right you gotto staccato! Thanks for teaching this one, it’s lots of fun.
now how did I miss that pun opportunity!
No one talking about how he looks almost exactly like Scott Lucas? Great lesson, thank you.

I fucking love this song! Such an badass song to play on guitar. Truly a jewel from the 90's grunge era.
this is one of those riffs that SOMEONE was GOING to write. It just happened to be Local H :)
@@RyanLendt yes! And thank god it was them!
What epicness is this!!? I’d never remember the name of that tune.... but my goodness it a great bit of guitaring!!

Glad I could help!
Used to love this song back in the day. Didn’t realise the verse was so intricate!
