Hello, just a quick question, what color code/swatch did you use for painting the covers? + did you use any plastic primer sprayer? (Wanna get the accurate match color for the ps5 plates)
Wait.. didn't those 2 white side panels just unclip and pull off? I couldn't see it attached with any screws. So you definitely need to remove all that middle stuff in order to pull those panels off?
Look again (5:15), the 2 tabs per panel that come to a round end, which also have a screw hole in them near the end, are for screws. That would be too easy!!
This is so helpful, tips for people who are struggling: Try use a knife or serated edge to emphasize the edges at the start of the teardown. This helps for your wedge tool to grip it. If you hear lotas of cracking its ok, its designed to do that and it isn't breaking. Your going to need a very small screwdriver t get into the holes since some are very far down. When re-assembling, make sure you have the 2 panels orientated correctly, they should fit in easily. If theres any alignment issues or difficulty you most likely have it the wrong way around. Good luck
@@TimTacTV Yup, lefty loosey and yes, I’m using precision screwdrivers. The whole set of drivers are tiny but yet none of them are catching into the groves of the screws. The might be the tiniest screws I’ve ever seen in my life. I managed to get 1 out but the other 3 are tightened so tight, they won’t even remotely budge. I’m having to use one of the flathead ones because it’s the only one that sort of fits in the groves but once I manage to get the flathead into the groves, I have to use essentially all of my strength to twist and they still won’t loosen. My strength just ends up forcing the head of the driver out of the grove and then I have to find my place all over again. Been at it for over an hour now smh
Decent cheers dude! I have the nova pink ps5 and want the same colour charger! Like u said in Ur vid the white stands out to much if Ur console is no longer white
A valuable guide! You didn't happen to take closeup photos on the circuit board? I could only catch a capacitor and a 5-pin black component from this video, but it could've been either a transistor or an IC. I'd love to DIY charging capabilities into my DIY 3D-printed DualSense stand!
I sprayed mine matte black as well. It turned out perfect but I let it sit overnight to dry and one of my kids touched it in the morning…. Tried to fix it but now it semi glossy on that side cuz I sprayed the already dry side. SMH. I may have to re do that side sometime

Hey man, thanks for your comment. For the one I did (seen at the end of this video), I sprayed the whole thing in 3 or 4 coats, properly letting it dry in between coats. I'm playing with one thought - if charging station would work with USB power supply from PS5. The original adapter and docking station itself claims 2.8A which is not output current of standard USB.... Powering from USB would be much more suitable for me....
Simply cutting the cord and splicing on a male USB will likely fry your board. It would likely require a capacitor change/addition to the board but I couldn't tell ya where.
