After a heavy work day, taking care of a 3 yo and managing a full home, my relaxation time at the end of the day, pure entertainment is watching zarna garg family show :). I watch and listen to a lot of podcasts, but as an entertainment, this has been my go-to show for thr past many months! 😊

This podcast made me so nostalgic. Watching cartoons with my little girl, especially Tom and Jerry, then later Friends and Sienfeld, the Big Band Theory etc etc.She had introduced me to so many programmes. She had even recommended Shawshank Redemption....I watched that movie many times in her memory. Still love to watch any episode of Friends .

"A" grade to Zarna for making her kids watch the iconic Khoon Bhari Maang and Udta Punjab. World is not a "safe" place or grade certified like American Cable TV, better to be exposed to the human condition and talk about it while still living with the family than be shocked out of your guts when on your own (happened to me).

@@HenneCindie my original comment still stands, and I will still ask the same question, how is any of these movies underrated? Even that list mostly contains successful theatrical releases and later on released on Netflix. Even the few Netflix releases (Lapata ladies, Mimi, and Katal) were trending in top 10. When a movie is underrated, they do not receive the recognition or praise it deserves. I wouldn't use underrated to describe any of them because they all received its due. They are all great movies, and they were successful both critically and financially.

When I watch these people from India, I understand how immigrants totally separate and become alienated from their culture within two or three generations. I have always wondered how the white immigrants to the US accepted such a fate of becoming rootless people. I realize it can happen to Indian immigrants also.

I'm with Veer, evenly distributing an A grade for everyone. Our family loves watching the talents show (The Voice, America's Got Talent...) and reality shows. We're also huge football fans (shout out to Veer and Brij) I've been tuning in for about a month and freeking love every one of your podcasts! Even though I"m a mom & wife living in a fly-over state, my husband, 2 sons, one daughter's personalities resonate with each of your corresponding family members in the best way. And what I admire about your family is the BALANCE and mutual respect demonstrated by each of you toward one another. Zarna & Shallbh thank you for your honesty, and listening hearts.

Just pick the ones that don't scare your kids, that way they'll still learn about Indian culture and language from movies like 12th Fail, Kathal, etc.
