I would gladly pay 200+ dollars for my windows license if they took all the ai, subscriptions and spyware out of windows and actually think about the usability, stability and security of the os.
I moved to macos because of my surface pro 4 it was good at first but after a couple months I no longer liked it sounded like a rocket taking off and would get so hot and buggy. I bought the keyboard and it worked like 10% of the time
Wish Justin asked "Why have you guys chosen to bake in Recall into the OS instead of making it an app people can CHOOSE to download from the store instead of forcing upon every Windows user?". Either way, Microsoft's AI push has pushed me towards installing Ubuntu onto my mini-PC. My next laptop will be either equipped with Arch or another copy of Ubuntu. Thankfully Bottles has made Affinity's software available to me on Linux.
I like how everyone thinks that Linux will be safe from AI, but it considered the best platform for running AI servers and developing new AI tools. Maybe if you're lucky you'll always be able to download a version that doesn't integrate AI, but AI isn't going anywhere, and some form of AI integration is very likely in the future.
This is going to be the dealbreaker if they continue down this path. They've been getting closer and closer to the line when it comes to their recent customer-unfriendly "features". Recall *definitely* crosses that line, and if they continue to tie it deeper and deeper into Windows, most folks should be looking at alternatives if they value privacy at all.
Around 8:00. That's bs. I have installed Windows 11 on an EliteBook with an i5 6300U, and TPM 1.2. It works just fine. I get having some limitations, but they set them Artificially high. Windows 11 can run on 2015-2016 devices with almost no issues. Also this Recall thing needs to die, it's a huge security risk to literally anyone who doesn't rip it out of the system. Recall is literally the reason why I've shifted to mostly using macOS and Linux. I have 1 gaming PC that's still running Windows for compatibility plus schoolwork stuff. But once I'm done with college and don't need Windows in my home, I'll put Fedora on that too.
The fact that Copilot is automatically installed and not allowed to be uninstalled (you can disable via registry but that is both something the average user will not feel comfortable doing, and it isn't clearly detailed how to do so by windows, and you have to trust people online on how to do it). I hate that so many programs I use are designed around windows specifically so a full jump to Linux isn't possible, but I want to eventually completely cut windows out of my life with the exception of the games I have on steam that require it. And as typing this, did he just say they want windows to be the most "open" platform? HAH
Well, let's face it, Matt does look like the type of guy that goes out to eat often, so it is highly possible that he got ecoli from a local fast food joint. California is where the bad onions came from, so if he went to McDonald's there he most likely is actually sick.
If Microsoft listened to its customers, they would bring back 3.5mm jack and microSD card on their Surface Pro devices. 7+ was the last great SP. Also, how's that Bluetooth type cover work out for them? They had that idea before during SP 3rd and 4th gen and it did not cost as much!
My mom and sister both have laptops with a Ryzen 5 2500U. Ryzen 2000 desktop CPUs meet the Windows 11 requirements, but apparently Ryzen 2000 laptop CPUs aren't included in that. (IIRC, Ryzen 2000 APUs use Zen architecture instead of Zen+) Perfectly fine hardware, they do in fact support TPM 2.0, but some jackass at Microsoft decided they weren't good enough and now they're just going to be e-waste a year from now. Unless this is going to be my push to finally ditch Windows altogether and learn how to boot Linux.
creator to creator we heard so many companies say going do this and going do that and that they listen but we should know talking about something and doin something is different
I will glady stay with Windows. It works, is easy to use and is supported by everything. Linux is overrated (I know, use it alongside windows for Android related things) and Macos.. Yeah we don't talk about that
As an older person using Windows based older pcs .. i agree with trying to make computers safer online. But not having a business that security is not a major concern, having to go and buy new computers is not an option for me. Here's a thought, make a version of Windows 11 for home users that doesn't have those safety/cpu requirements so all those older pcs don't end up in a landfill. Think of all the computers that will be trashed instead of being upgraded or replaced. And before anyone types that there are work arounds to install windows 11 on older pcs.. Not all of us older people know how or are willing to risk our machines trying to do that. Willing to bet if people with older cars were told that there was a new better gas that will replace all the older gas will not work in their cars and are required to buy a new car to keep driving the crap would hit the fan. For a lot of people that's how it feel like. PS i am not getting an Apple or switching to Linix
Now do the interview where the questions are replaced, with Microsoft Execs having their burned corpses thrown outside to play with traffic. It would be so much more wholesome than Recall existing, and hearing this guy just breathing our air like he's safely running a kindergarten. Someone get Austin away from that sentient malware immediately...
I absolutely want none of this, I'm pretty sure most gamers don't want any of this. We don't trust Microsoft or Apple, this type of propaganda isn't working mate. How about you let us uninstall all this garbage, why can't I uninstall Edge?????
I think cutting off some legacy systems in an effort to move forward and lock the system down with TPM was totally reasonable. Apple isnt supporting ten year old systems either.
More tablets like samsung galaxies borderless... jejejejeje I don't if there is no NPU, Also, niether apple has a borderles tablet, so could be the first
While you have Microsoft over can you tell them to actually make there $1500 + surface devices work well with digital art programs, because I tried the newest Surface Pro 11 and it draws worse than a budget Samsung Tablet. Disgraceful.
I would gladly pay 200+ dollars for my windows license if they took all the ai, subscriptions and spyware out of windows and actually think about the usability, stability and security of the os.
I disabled copilot.
yeah not sold on AI so far either. Google AI search can be great, but thats enough for me atm.
The answer is yes, they are listening. They would not know how to manipulate the user base otherwise.
I feel this should have been an Austin Evans video and not a This Is.
Think maybe Matt was supposed to be there but couldnt on the day.
@@gregorygeorge8695Austin says he had food poisoning in the beginning.
TLDR: microsoft guy says things are good. anyone with a brain can tell you that copiolit alone is enough to make things not good.
I wanna thank surface devices for making me finally make the jump to linux, never again will waste money on them
I moved to macos because of my surface pro 4 it was good at first but after a couple months I no longer liked it sounded like a rocket taking off and would get so hot and buggy. I bought the keyboard and it worked like 10% of the time
Same
Epic roast! Welcome to linux!

Dear Microsoft: Stop f*cking up the small computer stores that made you in the first place.
Oh they're definitely listening, with tying Recall into Explorer so that you can't get rid of it that easily.

I mean, i wasn't expecting a hard hitting interview but this is just a soapy tit-wank. Pointless PR puffery.
Wah wah wah 😢 👶

they're also probably listening through the speaker on your laptop lmao
That's what I thought the video was going to be about.
Hello.
Y'all really brought Matt in to film a 30 second intro to a video he isn't in?!
I still love and use my Surface Pro 4! So much life in it! Until Windows 11...

Hello there This Is! :D
So Matt was hungover (food poisoning). Thank god, this was a great interview!
Well, let's face it, Matt does look like the type of guy that goes out to eat often, so it is highly possible that he got ecoli from a local fast food joint. California is where the bad onions came from, so if he went to McDonald's there he most likely is actually sick.

Surface Pro 11 is amazing.
I would appreciate you not “making bets” on MY equipment. Thanks.

Soo what changed in this version? 💀
9:25 surface studio 3????
wish i could pay for an operating system without bloatware like candy crush and AI
sure buddy
sure
...
creator to creator we heard so many companies say going do this and going do that and that they listen but we should know talking about something and doin something is different
if windows 12 require a npu i am switching to linux as fast as i can for the mosr i can and use windows only when require
they is no way i wil buy a new pc just cause they want more money and spying when my computer is not that old ... but doesnt have a npu
11:33 well said
I will glady stay with Windows. It works, is easy to use and is supported by everything. Linux is overrated (I know, use it alongside windows for Android related things) and Macos.. Yeah we don't talk about that
Because of Gamepass game developers are skipping Xbox.
I don't know what this interview is, but it definitely isn't it.
A modern Linux distro can run just fine on a Pentium 4 from 2003. Microsoft talking about privacy and trust...🙄
If Microsoft actually listened to it's customers they would get rid of sbmm in COD it's just that simple
If you want me to pay for windows. Remove spyware. Simple.

Yeah, they listen... and watch...

Yes, it is listening through our PC's microphones.
an almost 15 minute sponsor for microsoft

😴😴😴😴😴
Funny to see a MS guy wearing an Apple Watch and mentioning iMessage and the Apple ecosystem 2-3 times. I guess he is an iFan.
First comment🎉
I just got one word for this microsoft guy... take racall out! nobody asked, nobody needs this crap. Sorry I just can't stand this BS.
O my
First whoo hoo
No they aren’t
So much AI...
what id like is stop with the forced microsoft account bs, thanks. if they were listening this wouldnt have been a problem for some time now.
