- Richie Havens is interviewed by his daughter Rachel Havens on behalf of the Transcendent Nation Foundation. Watch more interviews in the How to Save the World series at enterthemandal....
The primary aim of the Transcendent Nation Foundation is to promote the possibility of world peace by means of personal realization and holographic action. This is based on the simple idea that when a critical mass in the body of humanity awakens, the whole collective will be awakened.
Saw him in Santa Monica at a place I played called Easy Street , he was truly amazing to watch I met him after the show he was very kind and approachable
I just met this incredible man. He held my hand. I would call him "brother"
Laurie
Is it just me or does Richie not seem like he was your typical, non approachable celeb? He seems like he was just like you and me.
We are not National, very true x
respect man!!!
i love you!!
@bathory1234567890 It's his daughter who's interviewing him.
There is so much truth there. It is sad that there are so few comments here, and the last one was a year ago. We need to love our neighbors and be kind to people. It's sad that so many want to destroy our planet and people also. All in the name of what?
Greatness is not dead, only young.
@bathory1234567890 No offense.. but it's a good thing we have this interview... and it's cool that she did it. There are quite a few people that would appreciate this interview. Just because you don't like "how" someone gets something done, this doesn't mean it's the only way to do it... maybe you should check yourself before you criticize others. Peace.
Richie Havens, was, and had, a beautiful heart & soul, which he channeled through his music, which brought many together and raised the consciousness of many. In 1975, I worked a summer job at the museum of Natural History, with a Ms. Jean Kelly, the mother of Richie's daughter 'Becka". She had only great pride at being the mother one of Richie's children, and had only great things to say about Richie Havens. For this 18 year old young man, it was novel and intriguing. I later met Richie and Pete Seager at the Clearwater concert back in (I believe) 1996. Both men were very gracious to this young man, who was experiencing his first live folk concert, up close and personal, which included these two "Peace Movement" champions. I hope Becka, and all the Haven family are well.
great interview...richie havens is a true national treasure and i love him
I wish I would have been at Woodstock when he performed.
AWESOME interview with a cool legend!! :)
Parts of the world need saving from some of the other parts!
Very sorry to hear that Richie Havens passed away today ... I wish I had had a chance to see him live. I don't think I've ever been moved more by a song than I was by his "Freedom" song at Woodstock.
Quite a brilliant man. RIP RIchie. May heaven smile on you!
what a bad interviewer! Richie is the best!!!
