- This weekend marks 40 years since the Woodstock music and arts festival was held in Upstate New York. It was August 15, 1969 when Richie Havens played the first notes of what would become a three-day celebration. Havens performs for VOA one of his classic hits from the festival - "The Key"

I saw it Richie Havens twice in the early 70s he always had a beautiful aura about him I just found this song recently and I love it if I could I would give him a Grammy too bad he doesn't get to receive it but if I had one word to describe him it would be LOVE. The first time I saw him it was at a community college on Long Island it only cost $2 the second time what's a free concert at a local park I was a teenager enough said

I last saw him play live a few years ago and he is still one of the very best singer songwriters I have ever seen. He is blessed with so much talent and we are blessed to get to hear it.
