We live in Kingman, an hour from LK Havasu. I want to take my grand kids fishing. They have never ever gone fishing before and are 8 and 10 years old. Can you recommend the best place for dock or shore fishing in May and June? And what the best bait or lure to use??
Was on Roosevelt in the winter back in 76 rented a small boat and went out . We loaded the boat on little George and jigging spoons out off windy point . It was so easy .
Roosevelt is my go to when balancing fishing, crowds, etc... but gotta agree with Havasu. A little bit of everything there. Checking out the go-fast boats never hurt either.
I've never fished small mouth here in AZ but where i grew up in michigan smallmouth were a lot of fun because they always seemed to be pretty aggressive. Good for a reaction bite if you pester them.
I drive over both rivers that feed San Carlos on my way to the rest of the lakes in the state and both the Gila and San Carlos rivers have been flowing well. This is before snow melt. I know some of those big Florida strain females got washed in from Talkali last year with the heavy rains.
Great list Josh! I will have to try Havasu & Mohave sometime soon! 👍
Great list, thanks for putting this out.
Great video Josh!! I'm into making fishing videos too, and I absolutely love what you're doing! Keep up the fantastic work! 🔥🔥🤝🤝
Good rundown on AZ lakes. Thanks for the information.
Would love one of these for every city I visit. Thanks for putting this out.

Hey josh, any recommendations for smaller lakes for us that want free fishing? I've been trying dobson ranch lake lately, the bites not too active.

!00% agree Spot on.
Parker Strip is another good smallmouth fishery, especially in the March/April time frame. Also clear down to 25ft.
Thanks Josh I was hoping Alamo was on there will take it
Way to go Josh thank you that was great
Thanks for all the tips! For anyone that wants the best guide in AZ, book with Josh!

Love to go fish Havasu. One lake in AZ I have not fished yet.
Was at Saguaro this past Saturday- was lots of dead shad at different spots in the lake. Anyone else seeing this?
Yea I saw that was that just from a fast temp change? How did u do I didn’t get anything that weekend
I feel the last comment. I’d love to have it but maybe when it gets cheaper
Hopefully if San Carlos will hold water for a few more years it will be on this list. Those who know, know...
Odds are the Rez will never spend the money to restock it but you are correct! Back in the day it was a beast of a fishery!
It has been restocked. Probably will be another two years before it is back, assuming we get some inflow in that time to keep adequate water levels.

Well they'll get a lot more fishing pressure now that somebody rated them top 5 on RUclips 😂
Fishing slow at canyon.😢😢😢
No Canyon Lake?? I'll go for a double digit anytime over 20 or 30 dinks.
