Great report! Pleasant stripers are going good right now. Early morning spoons in 30 feet of water in the northern coves are a for sure bite right now. Big fish on big spoons. Tight lines!
Great report and Much Appreciated Josh! 👍 I want to add to the shad spawn observation’s, I have witnessed what seems to be a spawn during the last dwindling light at dusk with unreal masses at shore. Slugo and umbrella ☔️ rig worked for me during that time. Good Luck 🍀 in the tournament sir! 👍
Thank you for the Roosevelt update. Roosevelt is my home lake and I get put there as much as possible. Your update on Roosey is spot on. Thanks again !
Great report. Thanks for video report. Good luck at Havasu. Near Yuma, Martinez lake was on fire with white surface baits being key. Windy days - pretty much any swimming worms or swimbaits would work.
Hi Josh- I always love your reports. I moved from WA State and lived in AZ for about 1.5 years but moved back to Wa State two years ago to take care of sick family members. I loved fishing Roosevelt, Alamo and Bartlett. I ended up joining Phoenix Bassmasters and fished a few tourneys with them while I was there. You are absolutely correct about fishing a shad pattern when the shad spawn is going on. It really helped myself and my partner in team tournament win the Roosevelt tournament but we unfortunately ended up getting moved to second place because of a 1lb dead fish penalty the Club had in its fishing bylaws. If we were using BASS or MLF rules, we would have still won but things like that happen at times. On a separate note, I have really followed your progress in professional Bass fishing while you were fishing the Bassmaster Elite series and now at MLF. I wish you the very best in future tournaments. My biggest regret was I was never able to reach out and meet you in person at some point while I lived in Mesa. You truly are one of the best ambassadors for professional bass fishing- keep up the great work!!👍🏻👏
Apache was really tough this last weekend. There were thousands of dead shad, plenty of bluegill, a couple bass and even a massive carp were all belly up. The bass were DEEP hitting chartreuse finesse - deep enough for me to catch a surprise channel kitty on a Texas. I'd recommend avoiding the Salt River chain until the bloom clears up.
Enjoy the update. I saw the algae diminished last Thursday at Saguaro. Saw tins of fish (crappie, bluegill, shad and bass) but couldn't catch them. Tried all sorts of baits and lures. So disappointed.
Great video as usual. Really look forward to them each month. Went to Canyon last weekend and it was rough. Water is so dirty especially in front. Went past the no wake buoys and water was better but bite was not good. Went all the way back to the Apache dam and found uber clear water 10' visibility but bite was non existent. Water temp was 52 - never been back that far so it was cool to see but didn't have any luck.
Thanks for the great update Josh! Saw a video of horseshoe lake above Bartlett and had very thick golden algae problem, watching to see if Bartlett will be affected at all. Thanks again!
I hit Canyon a few times on my kayak within the last 2 weeks. Landed a 6.5lb largemouth on a white chatter bait and another one that came off. Other than that been a little slow. Thanks for the report!
I was out at Alamo last week the quality is okay but quantity is really where it’s at I was flipping getting better quality bites and with spinnerbaits catching a ton of 1-2 pounders
Have done well at Roosevelt, but saguaro has skunked me. Seems like most are catching them up the river, but not sure how far up you need to go. I’m in a motorized kayak so have limited range, but does anyone know how far up the river you need to go in order to get on em?
I’ve been to Saguaro 4 times in the last 3 weeks on my new fishing kayak. Haven’t caught anything. Not sure of it is the golden algae or that I am just a terrible fisherman.
Nice to have a local that shares info with us amateurs. Really appreciate what you do, keep up the good work

Going out tomorrow morning. What lake would you suggest between saguaro, Bartlett, and lake pleasant?

Really want to know about Saguaro?
