If you were to coat a sample with gold, how can you eliminate the gold data from your EDX results?

Hi Zella, there are software tools available such as DTSA-II to remove the gold peaks if you have gold coated your sample, but we find it best to leave the peaks in the spectrum and simply label them. Gold coating is an accepted part of electron microscopy and if any sort of x-ray quantification is done absorption by the Au will need to be accounted for.
