The opening scene in the last movie was a dream. It didn't actually happen. But because it stuck with him, that's why he felt like he needed to check in this film. That's why it seems repetitive. And because he couldn't let it go, he made his bad dream happen. So there aren't any major continuity issues with this one. Tommy as a kid, Tommy going through everything he went through in the last movie with the copycat Jason, Tommy a few years later still dealing with the trauma.

We never actually see Tommy kill the woman at the end of Part V, so it could've been just another dream/hallucination (especially since it immediately followed another similar dream sequence). That's how I always interpreted it, especially since Tommy doesn't start having hallucinations until Part V and he mentions the hallucinations at the beginning of VI. Plus, they offered the Tommy role to the same actor in Part V but he turned it down. But either way, they definitely decided that the Tommy antagonist arc was not a viable path and that Jason had to come back for Part VI.

But they still sort of incorporated the aspects of Tommy's Dream scene from A New Beginning of younger tommy at the grave where that scene could come across as a Future Premonition in this film to the viewers that couldn't block out everything in the last film.
Pretty sure it got referenced in later media in the series, where she managed to stop him and snap him out of it. Which is why he's so...off and self-destructive in this movie.
Wikipedia, as usual, doesn't know what it's talking about. The line "seeing his corpse isn't gonna stop the hallucinations" is an explicit reference to Part V. Tommy didn't have hallucinations in "The Final Chapter." A lot of people nowadays confuse continuity for fan service.
Somehow my brain made me think that happened in the last movie. It could have been interesting, but honestly this franchise has enough killer fatigue, and Jason is the only one to stand the test of time really. Not many people remember or know about the medic or even Jason’s mom.
This is my favorite Friday sequel. The script is surprisingly clever and self-aware, long before Scream made it cool. My two favorite moments are a sleeping kid who was reading Sartre's No Exit and two kids hiding from Jason where one kid asks the other, "So, what did you want to be when you grew up?" :)
In Lake Pleasant, Arizona. There life sized Jason statue, chained to the bottom of the lake 😂 he was meant to be removed in 2018, but I’ve seen conflicting information about that.
If I remember correctly, in the novelization for this movie they explain that Pam was able to talk Tommy down before he could hurt her. So Pam is still alive and Tommy's not a murderer.
"Jason never runs" - Jason ran in literally every movie before this one, lol. "How many names has this camp had?" Two. Camp Crystal Lake and Camp Forrest Green.
@@anthonycairo9202 Almost every time I watch one of these, Roxy seems to get...well, we'll just say she doesn't pay attention. However, having seen these movies I don't know how many times, someone who just started watching them might forget. But when Roxy asked why the officer switched from a shotgun to a pistol, I rolled my eyes and the other lady said he ran out of shells/bullits. I mean, c'mon, Roxy. Is she watching these movies, or is she playing on her phone? It never shows her on her phone until after the movie, but you can probably edit that out.
It’s fascinating to see the downfall of the audience watching these ladies. I wonder how long until they stop giving us these ‘scream queens’ the amount of negative comments they are getting is getting serious
Yeah, back then most people only saw these movies at the cinemas and probably forgot a lot of the previous movie. Most of the box office for the movies aren't from hardcore fans of horror or the F13th series, but just general movie goers, many of whom probably didn't even see the previous entry.
They barely remember the last movies regardless. They said Jason always walks a bit faster than Michael Myers yet Jason ran in the previous installments. Michael ran down the stairs in the original movie.
It's funny how the continuity's muddled except for Jason's injuries between parts 3 and 7. He gets the hatchet-blow in 3, has the scar from it in 4. Gets the head-chop in 4, has both injuries in 6. Gets chopped up in the face in 6, and by 7, he's got the portion of his skull between injuries from 3 and 4 exposed, with the propellor damage showing both on his face and mask.
Evil Dead has the best approach to continuity: cut it into tiny bits with a chainsaw after each movie and use their broomsticks to blow away the bad stuff.
If I remember correctly, everyone had so much fun making this film and it shows: this is the most fun entry out of the series. This kind of is and also isn't a reboot (or maybe retcon is a better word). The intent with V was to have Tommy driven to madness so much that he becomes the new killer (hence the final shot of that film). I believe they scrapped that idea when V didn't perform or review very well and brought back the J Man.
1. I love the caretaker, "Some folks have a strange idea of entertainment" and "Do they think i'm a farthead?" 2. This also has my favourite Jason kill when he snaps the sheriff in half. 3. The best credits song of the entire series, Alice Cooper - The Man Behind the Mask.
Ngl, I always felt bad for the sheriff, I know alot of characters didn't like him & how he treated Tommy. I didn't either like how he treated Tommy either tbh but I honestly expected him to make it to the end & realize that Tommy was a good dude. I wished that did happen tbh but it still was a cool & brutal kill regardless though. Hell yeah, I second that about that about The Man Behind The Mask, I still love that song. It's still the best end credits song for the franchise.
@@anthonyabrego9185 😁 just teasing you, I forgot about the joke until she did it in this video. They noticed that people call out other people’s names in the dark a lot looking for them when they are usually dead. So when a name is said, they just keep repeating that name with small pauses in between. It’s a bit that tends to go on too long, is too easy to do, and never can really land. Love the shejects, but it’s not my favorite
So little tidbit, everything prior to this movie realistically just had Jason be a tough but human killer. After the lightning shock, fans basically dub him as "Zombie Jason" as he is so much more durable and powerful in this movie and all future movies.

Michael's the one that doesn't really run alot in his franchise though I do remember that crazy scene in the first Halloween remake from Rob Zombie where he straight up charged at a character.
This is the Jason movie that I remembered the most as a kid and kinda saw glimpses of the most. This one felt very hip at the time and was very pop culture-y if that makes sense. Just something about it was very cool. Can’t watch y’all right now but can’t wait to see your reaction later.

I hate Jason Goes to Hell so much, it is not canon. Like it literally cannot fit with the other movies. Spoilers: If Jason could body swap after he is killed than why didn't the coroner who dealt with Jason's body after part 4 not get possessed. And the director says that Jason's sister is the daughter of Pamela even though she said in the first film that Jason was her only child and the director said she gave her daughter up to take care of Jason which I do not believe at all with how much she cared for Jason. Even though I do not like Jason Goes to Hell, I hope the best for Adam Marcus and I am not trying to be disrespectful at all.
My memory from this movie is getting grounded from seeing the rest of the movie because I happened to say "oop, someone's getting ready to get lucky" during the van scene and my babysitter freaked out and sat me at the kitchen table for the rest of the movie 😂

Love that u noticed the lack of nudity in this one. The director and his then wife who played the girl w/tony Goldwyn, made an effort to make a safe and comfortable environment for the cast and crew unlike the other Friday films up to that point. They made sure stunts were safe, they played board games and it was just all around a better set to be on.

Like I was so waiting for commentary on the porta potty duet in New Beginning but it didn’t happen 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 so I’m never sure what they’ll find to mention.

There’s no “marrying” of the Freddy movies outside of one obvious teaser at the end of one of them. So don’t waste time looking for them. Edit:I wasn’t meaning to be insulting btw. I just know it’ll be frustrating if they’re looking for connections and not getting any payoff.
They'll probably keep wasting their time looking; they don't know the lore, nor the time of these releases. They aren't going to do much more than exactly what they have already done. And they claim the movies were stale from the first till the 4th. I think they should try a new schtick, because they are getting stale.
The first four movies are basically a weird dreamlike somewhat confusing backstory/prologue. Five is like an intermission where you can get up, go pee and get snacks, make a few phone calls, and come back for six without missing anything important... and six is basically the start of the franchise since this is the version of Jason most people immediately think of... hockey mask murder zombie terminator, plus something extra once you get to Jason Goes to Hell.
I don't know if you guys aren't paying attention or you have retention issues. Jason cut the phone lines as soon as he got to the campsite. And yes, they showed it onscreen.😆
It's hard to pay attention when they're too busy trying to play up to the camera. 🤷♀️ I don't know if it's an actor thing or an "I want attention" thing.
Yeah there’s multiple reactors who have this issue. I try really hard not to be rude about it haha. But there’s been really major things that happen on screen or really major things that happened in the story of a previous film and they will completely forget about it somehow and I’m just like “…..😮”
If you've seen these movies since a child it's probably easier to remember. But yes, especially Roxy, she is so annoying not pay attention to what is going on. She's too busy making fun of the last few than she is wanting to do a reaction to the current movie. It's bascially her channel next to the other hosts, so she can do whatever she wants. It's probably meant to be humorous, but it gets old when that is all she wants to do during the entire movie is call out names from the last reaction. But I will probably continue to watch these not matter how infuriating Roxy gets. I'm a suck for movie reactions. I guess they have no problem with anyone pointing it out because they never mention it during their future videos. Or, perhaps, they just don't care...?

Occultism not Oc-cul-tism is your basic belief in otherworldly beings and powers, some have one leader who is worshipped or practice dark arts. Demonic Occultism was the most popular in the 80's followed by the one-man leader of a flock much like the Manson Family. I give the benefit of the doubt that you've never seen the word written even though you ladies have probably said it aloud many a time. Another great video would love to see them watch The Collector/The Collection.
Child of the 80's here. I remember watching this on VHS when my parents rented it. By 1986, the slasher craze had pretty much burned out due to the glut of copycat movies after the original. So when part 6 came out, the general public had largely lost interest, instead preferring the fresher Nightmare on Elm Street series. Also, the meta-humor was way ahead of its time. A lot people didn't "get" it, such as my parents. They laughed at the humor all the way through, but at the end concluded it was a bad movie BECAUSE they had laughed (for a series that until then was always played straight). Not me though, I enjoyed the humor and had a great time.
I absolutely adore you were more terrified of watching these out of order. This is what shows you how deep the fandom is. So happy you two started this adventure
The very beginning of this movie, the institute is referenced when Haas tells Tommy “if the institute ever finds out about this, they’ll haul our butts back in , in straight jackets”. The girl didn’t pick up the machete that Nancy brought to her because it was gone. Only the dripping blood from it was still there. Little more trivia, the guy who played Cort, the one killed in the RV, is John Travolta’s nephew.
Thursdays are the best days and these reactions are why. Also iirc this movie was supposed to be Freddy vs Jason, but plans fell through, that might explain the subtle freddy nods.
Yeah, this is Tommy's last official movie, though the actor who played him here has since reprised the role for fan films that can be found here on RUclips. I personally recommend the Never Hike Alone/Never Hike in the Snow/Never Hike Alone 2 trilogy
There are 2 short fan films on YT called Never Hike Alone and its reimagine of Friday the 13th. Its actually very well done and the guy that plays Tommy here makes a cameo in it.

The guy from Scandal is Tony Goldwyn. He was also in Ghost and is an heir to the Metro Goldwyn Meyer studio fortune. He also voiced the Disney lead in Tarzan. The dark haired male camp counselor is John Travolta's nephew.

Jason Lives Is My Favorite In The Friday The 13th Series For Numerous Of Reasons. The Self Aware Meta Humor Infused, Done Well 10 Years Before Scream Came Out Because This Film Was 1986 & Scream Was 1996 So Jason Lives Was Ahead Of It's Time In Terms Of Upfront Meta. Infact Kevin Williamson Who Wrote Scream Wrote It Humorously Brilliant After Watching Jason Lives For The 1st Time. This Is The ONLY Friday Sequel That Has Actual Little Kids At Crystal Lake So It Raises The Stakes For The Audience Thinking Jason Would Kill Kids But Thank God Not. Every Character Is Either Memorable, Likable & Fun To Be Around Thanks To This Film's Brilliant Sharp Writing & If You Guys Listened Closely To The Dialogue There Are Several Horror Referenced Easter Eggs & Lastly Jason Himself Played By CJ Graham (My Favorite Jason) Did A Very Fantastic Job Giving Jason A Personality As The Official Zombie Jason. The Kills Too Were Definitely At Their BEST As Well As The Use Of The Gothic Atmospheric Tone & Alice Cooper's Soundtrack Throughout The Movie. This Movie Is SUCH A Masterpiece & My #1 Fave In The Entire Series Forever. SUCH An Honor Watching You Lovely Ladies React To This Movie.
I felt that the "kids scene" was a callback to the original movie series. Young Pamela Voorhees protected the kids from the Camp Counselors in 1958....and in this movie...Jason Voorhees is doing the same thing.

Part 6 is my favorite Friday the 13th movie and I religiously watch this on every Friday the 13th , a big part of it is Jason is front and center and the main focus. Another fun fact is that actor and stunt man CJ Graham who played Jason for most of the movie , was a former Marine and managed a night club where he wore a Jason mask during an act on stage and , a friend of one of the people in the production crew of part 6 said you have to give this guy an audition and that's how CJ got the role of Jason .
Yes, girls. It is supposed to be the same, Tommy. Different actor, same exact character. Same history. Tommy from this movie actually resprises this role in some very awesome fan films you two should absolutely positively watch. NEVER HIKE ALONE, NEVER HIKE IN THE SNOW, and NEVER HIKE ALONE 2. These fan films are better than half the movies in the series.
Jason is a supernatural entity, Tommy learned how to stop him when he was reading that book earlier inthe film on occult. the only way to stop him for good, put him to rest is to send him back to his original resting place...and that is the bottom of the lake. the motor snapped jason's neck, which is why there was so much blood...unfortunatley there is a consequence to this...which we learn about in the next film. best joke to make regarding this, tommy may have read the book on what to do...but he didn't read the small print that said "ps this doesn't actually kill him...it just leaves him stuck down there."
The problem is Jason didn't die in Crystal Lake. The place Jason died at... was the Jarvis' living room. Tommy took him to the wrong damn place. And that's why Jason lives at the end stuck in the lake rather than being "killed" or "annulled" or whatever the hell Tommy thought would happen to him.
This is one of the best Friday the 13th movies for a number of reasons but my favorite thing about it is finally having an undead, unstoppable Jason Vorhees. Scary and bad@$$!
Next they introduce Kane Hodder as Jason who plays him from 7 to Jason X. While the next one is my personal favorite, this is definitely the best movie in the franchise. The writers came on and were like “let's have fun here” and the only condition from the higher ups is to not make fun of Jason and they succeeded in defining the Zombie Jason we know and love. Fun fact: The writers looked to treat Jason more as a classic Universal Monster, so the beginning and the end of the movie definitely give off Frankenstein vibes. Also the scene where the RV flips was filmed last and Jason's actor, CJ Graham was in the vehicle when flipped and then popped out for that really dope shot on top of the rv.
Part 7 is my 3rd favorite after this one and 4. And after seeing the unedited kills for 7 it would’ve had some of the best onscreen kills if the mpaa didn’t butcher the hell out of that film. Kane hodder is my favorite Jason even tho 8 and 9 are horrible films
My favorite friday hands down. Best Tommy Jarvis too. The Jarvis trilogy slaps. Also from the moment the lighting strikes till the end of the franchise Jason is now a zombie. That's why you will see "zombie jason" thrown around a lot.
The director/writer's wife almost got stabbed during the scene when Jason stabs through the windshield of the Bug. They talk about it in "Crystal Lake Memories". When the spike hit the windshield it changed the trajectory and almost stabbed her had she not moved away in time.
The woman in the bug is Nancy McLoughlin, the wife of the director. The little girl character, Nancy, is not named for Nancy from Nightmare but for the director's wife. - fun fact.
Fun Fact: Martin the gravedigger & the couple who were killed right after him, weren't originally gonna be killed. Tom McLoughlin wanted there to be exactly 13 deaths in the movie, but the studio wanted some more, so he added those 3 deaths.
Also this is the woodsman version of Jason one of my favorites another version is the hulk aka Zombie version of Jason coming up in the next films played by the great KANE HODDER
Love the tongue in cheekiness of this one. By this point in the franchise, they just said, let’s have a little fun with this and be self aware. Kudos to director Tom McLoughlin and company for creating this wonderful gem:)
Another great reaction by the Shejects!! This is my favorite in the entire franchise. This movie is an homage to horror itself. The town of Carpenter is a reference to Director John Carpenter. Karloff's General Store is a reference to one of the greatest horror actors, Boris Karloff (who played the Frankenstein monster in "Frankenstein" from 1931). Jason's resurrection is caused by the lightening, just like the Frankenstein monster..... there's several others as well. The comedy in this movie is gold! The caretaker/undertaker breaking the fourth wall, the kids yelling "yeah" when the caretaker says "does he think I'm a fart head", etc. And yes, the kills are entertaining and fun, although my favorite Jason kill is in the next movie, Part VII. Never try to understand the continuity with these movies, just enjoy them. Roxy and Tara, y'all hit it out of the ballpark with this reaction, y'all made some good observations and we're entertaining and fun. I hope this isn't out of line but for long time horror fans like me, seeing two beautiful women, both with sexy voices by the way, reacting to and watching these movies that I grew up with is just freakin' awesome!! Ever since you guys started this series I've been dying to see this one it's by far my favorite one side note the reason the brunette couusler didn't use the machete was the spot on the ground was where the machete was he stole it
When Paula returns to the cabin and sees blood on the floor, it's where the machete was. Jason had already taken it. The camp didn't receive any phone calls because Jason chopped through the phone line upon entering the camp. Paula, for instance, tries to call for help in that cabin scene, but the phone is dead. The beginning of Part V was a dream. The beginning of VI was Tommy accidentally making his worst dream come true in a self-fulfilling prophecy kinda way. At the end of V, we don't actually see Tommy attack Pam. We see him emerge with a knife and the mask, but we don't actually see him kill her. It would stand to reason that he didn't actually commit murder if he was free a few years later; I think the novelization resolves it by saying Pam managed to talk him down. Still, it's confusing.
@@RUclips_Street_Drifter if he was an escapee, the sheriff wouldn't have just driven him to the edge of town. He knew all about him. He would've sent him back to the mental hospital.
Another fun fact. Paramount wanted the director to come back, but he would do it in one condition. He pitched a Friday the 13th Cheech and Chong crossover. Paramount owned both at the time, but declined.

Wikipedia, as usual, doesn't know what it's talking about. The line "seeing his corpse isn't gonna stop the hallucinations" is an explicit reference to Part V. Tommy didn't have hallucinations in "The Final Chapter." A lot of people nowadays confuse continuity for fan service.
I always saw it as he snapped at the hospital but didn’t kill and was sent to the ward and then boom was let out once he was deemed fit
Somehow my brain made me think that happened in the last movie. It could have been interesting, but honestly this franchise has enough killer fatigue, and Jason is the only one to stand the test of time really. Not many people remember or know about the medic or even Jason’s mom.
This movie's low box office was probably due to how angry fans were about the previous installment not even having Jason in it.

This is my favorite Friday sequel. The script is surprisingly clever and self-aware, long before Scream made it cool. My two favorite moments are a sleeping kid who was reading Sartre's No Exit and two kids hiding from Jason where one kid asks the other, "So, what did you want to be when you grew up?" :)

However, having seen these movies I don't know how many times, someone who just started watching them might forget. But when Roxy asked why the officer switched from a shotgun to a pistol, I rolled my eyes and the other lady said he ran out of shells/bullits. I mean, c'mon, Roxy. Is she watching these movies, or is she playing on her phone? It never shows her on her phone until after the movie, but you can probably edit that out.

Something y’all ladies need to understand about horror movie franchises is that continuity from film to film isn’t always the best

Yeah, back then most people only saw these movies at the cinemas and probably forgot a lot of the previous movie. Most of the box office for the movies aren't from hardcore fans of horror or the F13th series, but just general movie goers, many of whom probably didn't even see the previous entry.
They barely remember the last movies regardless. They said Jason always walks a bit faster than Michael Myers yet Jason ran in the previous installments. Michael ran down the stairs in the original movie.
It's funny how the continuity's muddled except for Jason's injuries between parts 3 and 7. He gets the hatchet-blow in 3, has the scar from it in 4. Gets the head-chop in 4, has both injuries in 6. Gets chopped up in the face in 6, and by 7, he's got the portion of his skull between injuries from 3 and 4 exposed, with the propellor damage showing both on his face and mask.
Evil Dead has the best approach to continuity: cut it into tiny bits with a chainsaw after each movie and use their broomsticks to blow away the bad stuff.

This kind of is and also isn't a reboot (or maybe retcon is a better word). The intent with V was to have Tommy driven to madness so much that he becomes the new killer (hence the final shot of that film). I believe they scrapped that idea when V didn't perform or review very well and brought back the J Man.
Paramount brought back Jason because rabid fans were picketing the studio demanding they do so.

I didn't either like how he treated Tommy either tbh but I honestly expected him to make it to the end & realize that Tommy was a good dude. I wished that did happen tbh but it still was a cool & brutal kill regardless though.
Hell yeah, I second that about that about The Man Behind The Mask, I still love that song. It's still the best end credits song for the franchise.

So little tidbit, everything prior to this movie realistically just had Jason be a tough but human killer.
After the lightning shock, fans basically dub him as "Zombie Jason" as he is so much more durable and powerful in this movie and all future movies.
Tom McLoughlin said that he made the kills in this over-the-top so that nobody would be able to replicate them in real life.

This is the Jason movie that I remembered the most as a kid and kinda saw glimpses of the most. This one felt very hip at the time and was very pop culture-y if that makes sense. Just something about it was very cool. Can’t watch y’all right now but can’t wait to see your reaction later.

If Jason could body swap after he is killed than why didn't the coroner who dealt with Jason's body after part 4 not get possessed. And the director says that Jason's sister is the daughter of Pamela even though she said in the first film that Jason was her only child and the director said she gave her daughter up to take care of Jason which I do not believe at all with how much she cared for Jason. Even though I do not like Jason Goes to Hell, I hope the best for Adam Marcus and I am not trying to be disrespectful at all.

Love that u noticed the lack of nudity in this one. The director and his then wife who played the girl w/tony Goldwyn, made an effort to make a safe and comfortable environment for the cast and crew unlike the other Friday films up to that point. They made sure stunts were safe, they played board games and it was just all around a better set to be on.

The first four movies are basically a weird dreamlike somewhat confusing backstory/prologue. Five is like an intermission where you can get up, go pee and get snacks, make a few phone calls, and come back for six without missing anything important... and six is basically the start of the franchise since this is the version of Jason most people immediately think of... hockey mask murder zombie terminator, plus something extra once you get to Jason Goes to Hell.
I don't know if you guys aren't paying attention or you have retention issues. Jason cut the phone lines as soon as he got to the campsite. And yes, they showed it onscreen.😆

Yeah there’s multiple reactors who have this issue. I try really hard not to be rude about it haha. But there’s been really major things that happen on screen or really major things that happened in the story of a previous film and they will completely forget about it somehow and I’m just like “…..😮”
If you've seen these movies since a child it's probably easier to remember. But yes, especially Roxy, she is so annoying not pay attention to what is going on. She's too busy making fun of the last few than she is wanting to do a reaction to the current movie. It's bascially her channel next to the other hosts, so she can do whatever she wants. It's probably meant to be humorous, but it gets old when that is all she wants to do during the entire movie is call out names from the last reaction.
But I will probably continue to watch these not matter how infuriating Roxy gets. I'm a suck for movie reactions. I guess they have no problem with anyone pointing it out because they never mention it during their future videos. Or, perhaps, they just don't care...?

Child of the 80's here. I remember watching this on VHS when my parents rented it. By 1986, the slasher craze had pretty much burned out due to the glut of copycat movies after the original. So when part 6 came out, the general public had largely lost interest, instead preferring the fresher Nightmare on Elm Street series. Also, the meta-humor was way ahead of its time. A lot people didn't "get" it, such as my parents. They laughed at the humor all the way through, but at the end concluded it was a bad movie BECAUSE they had laughed (for a series that until then was always played straight). Not me though, I enjoyed the humor and had a great time.
I absolutely adore you were more terrified of watching these out of order. This is what shows you how deep the fandom is. So happy you two started this adventure

Every Character Is Either Memorable, Likable & Fun To Be Around Thanks To This Film's Brilliant Sharp Writing & If You Guys Listened Closely To The Dialogue There Are Several Horror Referenced Easter Eggs & Lastly Jason Himself Played By CJ Graham (My Favorite Jason) Did A Very Fantastic Job Giving Jason A Personality As The Official Zombie Jason. The Kills Too Were Definitely At Their BEST As Well As The Use Of The Gothic Atmospheric Tone & Alice Cooper's Soundtrack Throughout The Movie. I felt that the "kids scene" was a callback to the original movie series. Young Pamela Voorhees protected the kids from the Camp Counselors in 1958....and in this movie...Jason Voorhees is doing the same thing.

Part 6 is my favorite Friday the 13th movie and I religiously watch this on every Friday the 13th , a big part of it is Jason is front and center and the main focus.
Another fun fact is that actor and stunt man CJ Graham who played Jason for most of the movie , was a former Marine and managed a night club where he wore a Jason mask during an act on stage and , a friend of one of the people in the production crew of part 6 said you have to give this guy an audition and that's how CJ got the role of Jason .

Yes, girls. It is supposed to be the same, Tommy. Different actor, same exact character. Same history. Tommy from this movie actually resprises this role in some very awesome fan films you two should absolutely positively watch. NEVER HIKE ALONE, NEVER HIKE IN THE SNOW, and NEVER HIKE ALONE 2. These fan films are better than half the movies in the series.
Jason is a supernatural entity, Tommy learned how to stop him when he was reading that book earlier inthe film on occult. the only way to stop him for good, put him to rest is to send him back to his original resting place...and that is the bottom of the lake.
the motor snapped jason's neck, which is why there was so much blood...unfortunatley there is a consequence to this...which we learn about in the next film.
best joke to make regarding this, tommy may have read the book on what to do...but he didn't read the small print that said "ps this doesn't actually kill him...it just leaves him stuck down there."
The problem is Jason didn't die in Crystal Lake. The place Jason died at... was the Jarvis' living room. Tommy took him to the wrong damn place. And that's why Jason lives at the end stuck in the lake rather than being "killed" or "annulled" or whatever the hell Tommy thought would happen to him.

While the next one is my personal favorite, this is definitely the best movie in the franchise. The writers came on and were like “let's have fun here” and the only condition from the higher ups is to not make fun of Jason and they succeeded in defining the Zombie Jason we know and love. Fun fact: The writers looked to treat Jason more as a classic Universal Monster, so the beginning and the end of the movie definitely give off Frankenstein vibes. Also the scene where the RV flips was filmed last and Jason's actor, CJ Graham was in the vehicle when flipped and then popped out for that really dope shot on top of the rv.
There's also a nice reference to "Frankenstein" - Tommy says he's near "Karloff's Groceries"
Part 7 is my 3rd favorite after this one and 4. And after seeing the unedited kills for 7 it would’ve had some of the best onscreen kills if the mpaa didn’t butcher the hell out of that film.
Kane hodder is my favorite Jason even tho 8 and 9 are horrible films

My favorite friday hands down. Best Tommy Jarvis too. The Jarvis trilogy slaps. Also from the moment the lighting strikes till the end of the franchise Jason is now a zombie. That's why you will see "zombie jason" thrown around a lot.
Then we the Never Hike Alone series which him returning was just excellent facing off against Ghost Jason
Such a fun series to watch with a couple shejects.

This is the best F13 period
The director/writer's wife almost got stabbed during the scene when Jason stabs through the windshield of the Bug. They talk about it in "Crystal Lake Memories". When the spike hit the windshield it changed the trajectory and almost stabbed her had she not moved away in time.
Yeah, when you watch that scene and pay attention to the spike, it's scary what might have happened.
The woman in the bug is Nancy McLoughlin, the wife of the director. The little girl character, Nancy, is not named for Nancy from Nightmare but for the director's wife. - fun fact.

Fun Fact: Martin the gravedigger & the couple who were killed right after him, weren't originally gonna be killed. Tom McLoughlin wanted there to be exactly 13 deaths in the movie, but the studio wanted some more, so he added those 3 deaths.
Also this is the woodsman version of Jason one of my favorites another version is the hulk aka Zombie version of Jason coming up in the next films played by the great KANE HODDER
Love the tongue in cheekiness of this one. By this point in the franchise, they just said, let’s have a little fun with this and be self aware. Kudos to director Tom McLoughlin and company for creating this wonderful gem:)

This is my favorite in the entire franchise.
This movie is an homage to horror itself.
The town of Carpenter is a reference to Director John Carpenter.
Karloff's General Store is a reference to one of the greatest horror actors, Boris Karloff (who played the Frankenstein monster in "Frankenstein" from 1931).
Jason's resurrection is caused by the lightening, just like the Frankenstein monster..... there's several others as well.
The comedy in this movie is gold!
The caretaker/undertaker breaking the fourth wall, the kids yelling "yeah" when the caretaker says "does he think I'm a fart head", etc.
And yes, the kills are entertaining and fun, although my favorite Jason kill is in the next movie, Part VII.
Never try to understand the continuity with these movies, just enjoy them.
Roxy and Tara, y'all hit it out of the ballpark with this reaction, y'all made some good observations and we're entertaining and fun.
I hope this isn't out of line but for long time horror fans like me, seeing two beautiful women, both with sexy voices by the way, reacting to and watching these movies that I grew up with is just freakin' awesome!!

Freddy vs Jason happens after F13th Part 9 btw, between that and Jason X. Doing it After part 6 will definitely have you confused on a few things

Ever since you guys started this series I've been dying to see this one it's by far my favorite one side note the reason the brunette couusler didn't use the machete was the spot on the ground was where the machete was he stole it
When Paula returns to the cabin and sees blood on the floor, it's where the machete was. Jason had already taken it.
The camp didn't receive any phone calls because Jason chopped through the phone line upon entering the camp. Paula, for instance, tries to call for help in that cabin scene, but the phone is dead.
The beginning of Part V was a dream. The beginning of VI was Tommy accidentally making his worst dream come true in a self-fulfilling prophecy kinda way.
At the end of V, we don't actually see Tommy attack Pam. We see him emerge with a knife and the mask, but we don't actually see him kill her. It would stand to reason that he didn't actually commit murder if he was free a few years later; I think the novelization resolves it by saying Pam managed to talk him down. Still, it's confusing.
But he wasn't free he was in the insane asylum and had escaped at the beginning of the movie
@@RUclips_Street_Drifter if he was an escapee, the sheriff wouldn't have just driven him to the edge of town. He knew all about him. He would've sent him back to the mental hospital.
Another fun fact. Paramount wanted the director to come back, but he would do it in one condition. He pitched a Friday the 13th Cheech and Chong crossover. Paramount owned both at the time, but declined.
