The Ed Sullivan bar is referencing the Ed Sullivan show from back in the day, where he introduced lots of music acts, and with Elvis they shot him super close up to block out his "graphic" hip shaking 😆

    • @brandonayong5823

That Ed Sullivan bar was hard. When Elvis appeared on the Ed Sullivan Show, they wouldn't film his waist down, because they said his hip movements were too much for TV. So "call me Ed Sullivan, shoot you from the waist up" is ... FIYAH.

To ME, all three legends were better than MJ. And I liked MJs music as a child. His voice sucked as an adult. And his dance moves became too choreographed and unoriginal. They were the dance choreographers' moves not Michael's.
HE wasn't feeling the music...it was too robotic. He didn't even sing much live he was pitch corrected on in the studio and on stage with equipment and he lip synced. So no... NOT EVEN CLOSE SORRY mj fanboys.

Michael Jackson changed the new wave of music though can’t doubt that at all. He turned music into movies and events. The Thriller release was the first album in history to be released as an event, which made the industry a lot more competitive as other artists had to up their game when it came to music video production which is why music videos are still such a huge part of music today. You also can’t deny his dancing, style and influence in every music genre, culture and country. Trying to sound as unbiased as possible but MJ really was that guy no disrespect to Elvis though

    • @novaparadoxx9043
      @novaparadoxx9043 Год назад +6

@@depper MJ wasn’t influenced by Elvis. His main influences were James Brown, Sammy Davis Jr, Jackie Wilson and Charlie Chaplin. You can’t even talk about MJ being unoriginal when Elvis only got famous because prejudice White America wouldn’t give Black talents like Chuck Berry a chance. Also yes MJ may have lip synced more but MJ also had a lot more performances around the world because he was more internationally known than Elvis. MJ’s first moonwalk alone is more iconic than anything Elvis ever did on stage.

Later Michael hired Elvis stage manager and wardrobe designer when he launched his solo career !!! MJ was heavily inspired by Elvis Presley in ALL aspects of his life, on stage and off stage.

Elvis gave an astronomical 1,684 Concerts and over 6,000 Live Performances during his 24 year career, an astonishing and amazing achievement not surpassed by anyone else in the music business! And over 1.6 Billion Records sold Worldwide (international sales went largely unreported so no one truly knows how many more records he actually sold around the world - probably 3x that amount reported). The Highest Selling Single Artist in the History of Recorded Music. AND the Only Entertainer in the World that is a member of these 4 major Music Halls of Fame - Rock 'n Roll HOF, R&B HOF, Country HOF and Gospel HOF! His contributions to the blues and gospel and rockabilly often is misunderstood or undervalued. The most amazing stat to me that Elvis absolutely crushes is 114 Top 40 Hits on the Billboard charts. Noone comes ANYWHERE CLOSE. 114 were in the Top 40, 40 were in the top 10, and 18 went to number one BEFORE HE DIED. Today he's up to 34 Number 1 Hits. "Elvis: 30 #1 Hits" debuted in 2003. It's most recent certification, a 6× Platinum award, for US sales in excess of six million copies, was announced by the RIAA on March 8, 2018. England accounted for over 3 Million. The album helped Elvis to have the longest span of number one albums on the Billboard 200. The album remained on the chart for one hundred and twelve weeks. "Elvis created a new style all his own, and gave an injection to black music like no other artist had ever done." --- Legendary black entertainer Rufus Thomas.

MJ was HEAVILY influenced by Elvis Presley. It is blatantly apparent. MJ's relationship with Lisa Marie ALONE doesn't mean he was influenced by Elvis, but when you really study their relationship, then realize that:
    1. MJ hired Elvis' best friend JOE ESPOSITO to manage his career,
    2. MJ hired Elvis' CONCERT PROMOTER AEG Live co-CEO Paul Gongaware.
    3. MJ hired Elvis' COSTUME DESIGNER Bill Belew,
    4. ... in addition to all the similar dance moves
    5. ... in addition and arm and leg movements
    6. ... in addition to their desire to create music videos... elaborate video representations of their songs
    7. They BOTH lived in THEMED TWO STORY HOMES, Elvis called his escape home Graceland, while MJ decided to call his escape home Neverland.
    8. MJ attempted to duplicate Elvis' success in Hollywood, and before his death had made a cameo appearance in Men in Black, and released Moonwalker in 1988, an anthology movie combined with a fantasy tale with Michael’s confrontation with a drug dealer, with limited theatrical release.
    9. MJ even went into commercials... Elvis for Southern Maid donuts, and MJ for Pepsi, even though he hated Pepsi... but Elvis did a commercial so.....
10: Merchandise: MJ studied what Col Tom Parker did with Elvis' Merchandise.
and a bonus # 11: Elvis had a few monkeys. His first once he purchased before moving into Graceland. Most famously, Elvis bought a pet monkey that he called Scatter who supposedly got drunk on Elvis' movie sets on a few occasions, and MJ bought a monkey and he named it Bubbles.
Ok Last One I promise: MJ literally writes a song called... Heartbreak Hotel.
Where Elvis co-created a musical art form, MJ largely built on one. Where Elvis changed sexual mores in the conservative wake of World War II, Michael only made shocking crotch-grabbing movements. And where Elvis, expanding on James Dean's work, harnessed a burgeoning youth culture, MJ only drew more attention to it. MJ did it brilliantly ... but his cultural impact pales in comparison to Presley's'.
Elvis came along at just the time the first identifiable generation of teenagers were about to substitute a drive for freedom for their parents' drive for security. 'With the change in values came a change in music and you had the impact of what became rock and roll'. 'Elvis stood at the cusp of that generational revolution. TV + YOUTH REVOLUTION ... and Elvis just ran away with the football.
MJ really copied as much as he could from Elvis, and that's OK... because MJ put HIS SPIN on it, but LETS BE HONEST and call it straight down the line, MJ VERY CLEARLY was inspired by Elvis Presley and how he defined himself as a SUPERSTAR and legend. I respect Elvis and MJ for being the TWO KINGS of MUSIC that they are... As big as MJ became, Elvis was ACTUALLY MUCH BIGGER, a musical AND SOCIAL phenom.

Funny stuff but Elvis’ details are completely inaccurate. Ok Elvis did not steal music from black people. That is a lie told by people who are purposefully spreading mistruths or uneducated to who the bad guys really were, the execs of record companies, radio stations and concert venues. Elvis battled ALL THREE for the betterment of the black community.
Elvis opened the door for a lot of black musicians. Elvis CREDITED EVERY SONGWRITER on EVERY SONG, on EACH ALBUM. EVERY SONG WRITER GOT PAID, and some paid really well (Little Richard, Chuck Berry and especially Otis Blackwell made a fortune on royalties) Black songwriters SOLD SONG RIGHTS TO ELVIS to perform their artwork, Elvis didn't steal any song.
The truth? Elvis was a pioneer. One of the architects of Rock and Roll. He did not steal black music. The 1950s was an era of music and culture experimentation and many thousands of hours jamming melding of R&B, Gospel and Rockabilly. Elvis was in the churches in the 1940s putting together new sounds, before Chuck Berry and Little Richard ever cut a record.
Elvis was a genuine part of this era and new sound. He was a pioneer. Not first. But still a pioneer. In that era, it was an age of legendary song writers. Elvis performed some ~700 songs. He was a musician who played great rhythm guitar and piano and boy could HE SING. Legendary sought after rich baritone. ZERO of his works were stolen.
Legends such as Al Green, BB King, James Brown, Jackie Wilson, Sammy Davis Jr, Chuck Berry and Little Richard roamed the Earth at the same time Elvis did and they all knew Elvis, loved him, and praised him very highly. Elvis merged black and white music to help form Rock and Roll jolted a youth movement and civil rights movement to the forefront so both could succeed.

MJ won. Not just cause he's my favorite
He took Evil's hardest bar and slapped him In the face with it. That was hard. I didn't lose any chocolate I just added Vanilla?.....wow.... flipped it on him! Otherwise Elvis would have won

No mf way. My fav reactor next to Mr. Video and he's reacting to the ERBOH? Man I used to love these vids back in the day when they were coming out weekly. Wish they'd come back or sell the rights to someone else to keep them going bc I'm sure Epic Lloyd and Nice Peter have other things going on these days.

i wouldn't say Elvis "stole" from a culture considering his family was very poor and lived in poverty. they went to a black church growing up its why he was so into gospel music at one time. his manager on the other hand is another story. he was the racist PoS that used Elvis for money.

Jacksons music would be cherished today if it dropped. No radio station is jamming Jailhouse Rock in 2022 if it just came out. Apples to oranges argument but Legend to Icon as well. Michael could dance, sing, act etc. Elvis couldn't keep up. As far as the battle rap goes, Elvis got in that ass.

Elvis is still cherished today, worldwide. His biopic just released this year and is the 2nd highest grossing music biopic in history. Elvis made more money then MJ did posthumously in 2022.
