    To be fair, He MET his wife at 14, they were not married for 8 years so he didn't marry a 14 year old, he married a woman at 22. I cannot speak for the laws of courting and such as they have always been odd at different times in human history. Me personally dating a 14 year old would be creepy.

    • @ferratorr1033

      It would be creepy in my opinion, I’m 25 now and I’d find it creepy if I was with a 14/15 year old. However, it never ceases to amaze me how almost often it is among many circles in society for that to happen, and be accepted or ignored.

    • @Kiernan5
      @Kiernan5 3 года назад

      @@ferratorr1033 It's not completely illegal. There are actually still laws in some states that allow adults to marry children under certain circumstances. Michigan just recently removed such a law, I think in the last 5 years, but some others still allow it, such as Alaska (14), Massachusetts (12 for girls 14 for boys), Hawaii (15), Maryland (15), Mississippi (15 for girls), Vermont (14) and California which has no minimum age for marriage. New Mexico also says "A person under 16 can marry by order of a children's or family division of district court." In most all cases to get married prior to 16 requires parental consent and a judicial review to rule out abuse or coercion.

    • @ferratorr1033
      @ferratorr1033 3 года назад

      @@Kiernan5 That’s all well and good, but I’m largely commenting on carnal relationships, and grooming pre-marriage, as opposed to actual marriage, since as mentioned above, when Elvis did marry his wife she was well above 18. I will say that my grandma watched the movie about the Jackson family whenever it came on..his dad was kinda nuts, it really does explain why when he was an adult MJ was so..strange to most people. He was trying to get a taste of the childhood he never really got to have because of how his dad ran him and his brothers ragged to make money. Vitiligo is the most noticeable on people with dark skin, however, it can affect anyone. My husband suffers from it and even though he's caucasian it used to be quite noticeable, especially on his face or when he got tanned. People get bullied because of it, especially when they're younger and can develop low self esteem and depression as a result. He started tattooing really dark black ink tattoos over his spots because he didn't like how his body looked and how people started. But the spots would recede from the ink, so it was like a chain reaction. Now all of his melanin receded on his face and he's fully tattooed on his body. You can't tell he has vitiligo anymore, but his body is totally transformed, so I guess he did the opposite of what Michael did.

      Elvis Prelsey never said he stole music from black people (that would be nonsense too). It is true that when Elvis was a child, most of his neighbors were black. HE often played with the children from the black population. Of course he got something from their culture. But that has nothing to do with appropriation. this is nonsense. Even all, all, all, all, all the black people from that time didn't say it. By the way, Elvis Presley's art is 92% white music. His beginnings were also cuntry music.

      Elvis didn't really say that. Elvis once said: "Our neighbors were always black and I admired their art. But I have always made my own art. I would never copy another artist because it is not right. I would be taking something away from another artist and myself would then just be a copy"!

    Just wanted to say Elvis MET Pracilla at 14. They didn't get married until she was older. 😆 People always confuse that. She was 22 when they married.

    The Elvis stole rock joke is outdated if you look up the actual story told by his black contemporary's in my opinion. Short version is Elvis & The Black Community on RUclips, has loads of interview's of legends in the black community (Little Richard, B.B King, Jackie Wilson etc).
    Cissy Houston, who sang with Presley as part of her group, The Sweet Inspirations, recently showed Oprah Winfrey the gift that Elvis gave her, also on RUclips.
    Chuck D sorta addressed this his statements on Elvis (remember his line in Fight The Power) : “My conversation never was just ‘this white dude stole black music’… Culture is to be shared,” explained Chuck D. “You see a black person playing classical piano, you can’t say because he doesn’t have ‘German roots’ that he can’t play that classical piano as good as anybody else… The Beastie Boys brought Public Enemy in, so I mean, damn.”
    Love the great content, not offended or anything, just that it is a big misconception with Elvis in my opinion :)

    Elvis didn't mary a 14-year-old. He MET Pricilla when she was 14 in 1959, and they married in 1967 when she was 22.
    That doesn't mean he was a boy scout or anything, he was 24 when he first met her, but there's no need to misrepresent the truth.

      That was an acceptable age then, and still is in most of the world.
      As for him being 24, yeah parents used to want their daughters to marry a 22-30 year, who had their shit together, who owned land, had income, and already survived war.

    No, I did not marry a 14-year-old. He met her when she was 14 when he was in the army, she was already of age when they got married. Elvis’s wife, Priscilla, then his daughter was Lisa Marie.

    Elvis married PRiscilla when she was 21 and he was 32. Sure, there was some age disparity, but i wouldn't equate it to what MIchael was accused of.
