    How do we know that the hypothesis is 3.5 kg?

    • @Learn2Stats
      @Learn2Stats  5 месяцев назад

      If you are doing the research, you establish the hypothesis.
      If it's homework, it's usually given to you.

    During step #5 is the procedure used to calculate the value of 0.61 by multiplying 2.262 and 0.269, the same for two tailed test and directional test also? Thanks.

    • @Learn2Stats
      @Learn2Stats  2 года назад +1

      Yes, the formula is the same but it will change where you get the value from between directional to two-sided. I used the two sided for the example, if you back up you can see in the t-table where it states one tail and two tail. Depending on the direction and what alpha value, you can use that table to get the value to use in the formula.
      Let me know if you have any more questions or need more clarification, always happy to help.

    Where are you getting x and s from I'm confused

      I give an example data set half way through. I calculate the mean and standard deviation off screen. I reference it in the video.
      If you need help with solving the mean and standard deviation, I have videos that go over them.

    Where do I get the μ? Imean, I will based it in what?😅

    • @Learn2Stats
      @Learn2Stats  2 года назад +1

      The mu will be based on the question or given to you directly. For example, I want to see if the average male is 6 ft tall and take a sample of 100 males. Mu= 6 here. Another phrase that may be used to indicate the mu in the question is the gold standard. Lastly, if no number is given the mu = 0. This is done typically in cases of differences (male and female height). Let me know if that helps or if you have more questions.
