  • In this video I want to talk about the three things that annoy me sometimes when flying the A320. Just to be clear. I love this aircraft and I really enjoy flying it. It has been my office for several years now and I don´t really want to change it for anything else.
However, as always there are some small things that could be better.

I remember when fenix came out with their a320 back then.. such a magical moment.
Now seeing it again, all these complex systems that they coded/modeled…
Really makes me wish every aircraft in msfs was this in-depth :,D

In the first clip the aircraft does exactly what you tell it to do. If you dont want to intecerpt the LOC yet, dont arm the APP mode. Fly to BEGEN and then when you cross BEGEN, arm the LOC

@@agustinlaurito9656 The aircraft is supposed to fly to Begen and intercept the localiser, just like the clearance said. In the MCDU it clearly says direct Begen. No other aircraft I know of ignores this and starts turning into the Localiser
We have some former Boeing pilots and none of them like this behaviour.
The way around it is to wait until you are at BEGEN and then arm the approach. However, this is not according to procedure. Also, if you get distracted you might forget to arm the approach then and fly through the glideslope.
I am based in PMI and when 24L is in use and we get a direct to BAVUM the aircraft tends to turn all sorts of ways before that point just to get onto the LOC.

@@fsclipsBut look at the FMA. It says LOC*, that means that the aircraft is turning to intercept the localizer. There is no reason why the aircraft would instead of flying the LOC, fly to BEGEN.

@@fsclips The aircraft doesn't know what the clearance is. All it's concerned about is that when the LOC mode is armed and the aircraft feels it's close enough to the localizer, it'll intercept the localizer. This is by design and Airbus would need to implement a predictive system that would know if the aircraft was already on course to intercept the localizer, albeit at a very shallow angle, to correct this.

    #1. I was 100% convinced that I was making a mistake.
    #2. I didn't know.
#3. Indeed, the sound is disturbing overall, but it doesn't bother me..
What about the cockpit heating? I heard that it is not well-solved and in the A32N pilots fly in long johns because it is even worse.

I don't have any problems with the heating, but I live on a small Mediterranean Island where temperatures are very pleasant in the winter.

    1. Would it not make more sense to fly the direct first, wait until flying wings level and then press the APP button?
    2. On the A319/A321 you do get full speed brakes

      @fsclips  День назад +1

1 The Airbus does this intercept turn even if you are flying to the FAF from 50 miles out, wings level or not doesn't seem to make a difference.
2 Yes, I know. This is what I discussed in the Fenix A319 video

Even at half the a320 spoilers are better than the 737 ones😂😂, on the 737 they are pretty useless(in the sim atleast)
