    I've had my Yukon 2 for a year now, and have no complaints. I first thought I would get it for winter trail riding only. I soon found I was having so much fun riding it that it's a regular in my bike stable.

      Yes, they're great bikes. We have heard of a few people who do the same... it ends up being the spare bike they use in many cases if the main full-suspension bike is out of action.

    Thanks for the review! I've been waiting for this one. I pre-ordered in August and mine arrives any day now. Had no idea the fatties were in such high demand as well. What a crazy year this has been

    interesting Maxxis chose to make the collosus in 650b, nice bike, time will tell how the giant hubs hold up to the climbs out here, especially with all the torque from the very reasonable factory 28x50 gearing.

    The 2020 batch of Yukons had problems with the rear hub. The rim is 28 hole, while almost all aftermarket fat bike rear hubs are 32. So if your rear hub goes bad, you have little choice in terms of hubs for rebuilding the wheel using the stock rim.

    • @BikeBrosBikeShop
      @BikeBrosBikeShop  3 года назад +1

      Giant was very proactive with sending out upgrade hub parts once they determined there was an issue with the first batch of rear hubs and we've been impressed by the durability since. I agree, 32 hole would have been preferred for ability to upgrade with the widest selection of hubs.

    I want to tour with my Giant Yukon (cross Canada). Any recomendations for racks and bags or am I better to go with a trailer ? Thoughts

      Hi, we've used a fat bike specific rack from Axiom for the most part. I like the idea of single wheel (Bob Style) trailers but not sure If I've seen one designed for a fatbike's rear hub width.

    • @mattb0y
      @mattb0y 3 года назад +1

      I've got an Axiom Fatliner rack with Ortlieb panniers/bags on my Yukon and it's perfect.

  • @capmidnite
    @capmidnite 3 года назад

    The fork cannot hold an Anything Cage, unless only 2 holes are used. The 3 hole spacing is suitable for low rider racks.

    Hi! Thanks for this review! I live in Wisconsin, but I wonder if you could answer a question. Because this has a rear thru-axle, is it safe to set up a Burley hitch for trailer?

    • @BikeBrosBikeShop
      @BikeBrosBikeShop  3 года назад +1

      you would need a special axle. The Robert Axle Project is a company that makes a bunch of axles for different purposes... I think they make something for that purpose

    Just wondering how to line up the rear wheel with it having slots in the rear stays. Just got mine and I don’t think it’s lined up correctly the space isn’t even on each side between the tire wall and stays. Help pls.

      That is something I'd suggest going back to where you got the bike to have them check... a bit too complex of an issue for a few words to cover in a comment.

    Whats the fourth screw for on the fork? Its missing on both sides on my bike. The bottom one above the axle.

    • @BikeBrosBikeShop
      @BikeBrosBikeShop  3 года назад

      Hi, that is a mounting point for rack/fender. It is normal for there to be no screws in those spots. The screws come with the rack/fender typically

    So is this already tubeless or does it have tubes? Thx 👍🏻

    • @BikeBrosBikeShop
      @BikeBrosBikeShop  3 года назад

      The bike comes stock with tubes in the tires. Be warned, setting up these, or any fat bike tires tubeless is much more likely to cause issues than doing tubeless on standard mountain bike tires.

    Strange that you have regular bikes for sale but no fat bikes. That opposite of Sudbury Ontario. All the bike shops have several fat bikes on the showroom floor but none of the full suspension bikes I am looking for. There is even a new trail system that opened and allows fat bikes. Who knows.

    • @BikeBrosBikeShop
      @BikeBrosBikeShop  3 года назад

      Oh, really. Yes, all our fatbikes were sold before they arrived and that is the story at all the shops in this region. We do have amazing fatbike trails around here do fatbiking has been very popular for a number of years in Southern Alberta.
