Your assessment is spot on. I've had a Nano for 4 or 5 years. Really my fav all around jacket. If I'm out shopping and in and out of the car, I'll wear down in the low 30˚s. When I'm gonna be outside for an extended time, I'll go with the Down Sweater. And if it's cold enough, I'll layer the 2 together.
I've had the Nano Puff hoody jacket for almost a year now (I bought it roughly 10 months or so ago) and I wore it all last winter from late December/early January through March. I live in New England, so we get some pretty harsh, cold weather during the winter months (even into early spring) and I have to say, this jacket kept me perfectly warm, even when it was down in the teens and 20s. I've always liked Patagonia. It's now November and it's starting to get pretty cold here (32 degrees Fahrenheit and snowing as I write this). I'm going on a trip this weekend and I just pulled out this jacket to bring with me. I haven't worn it in about 7 or 8 months. I just washed it since it looked a bit dirty after being in the closet for many months and I don't think I washed it after the last several times I wore it. I wash mine on cold and then hang it up to air dry and it always comes out great. I do, however, have the same complaint/gripe about the stitching. I just had to cut a couple of loose threads off mine on one of the sleeves and it's not even a year old yet and has only had a few months of very gentle wear from last winter. It did get tossed into a locker a lot at the gym last winter, but that was the roughest treatment it has ever had. For a nearly $300 Patagonia product, I'm not too impressed by that, but overall, I really do like this jacket. It looks great and you can wear it with just about anything and on any occasion. This will be my second winter with it. I may contact Patagonia and about the loose stitching issue and see what they say. I'm glad to know it's not just me experiencing this problem. Other than that, it still looks like new.
The stow away pocket is an added feature for backpacking, where saving space is rather necessary. Appreciate the review regardless; so many are more or less unboxing or first-impression videos of gear that's never been lived in. Cheers!
I wouldn’t even wear a macro puff in neg 0 temps with a cap air or SW baselayer. Nano’s are superb but it’s only 60g of primaloft, good for cool to cold, and layered when frigid

Great review, exactly what I needed to know. Thanks man!
You always seem to pop up when I’m looking for a review. First it was for the nespresso machine and now this! Really like your videos keep it up!
Your reviews are really good. I'm going to get an ember, a Nespresso vertuo, and a nano jacket. Keep making reviews bro! You got style.
I watched all three in that same order, Haha

Okay, but where did you get that sweet quarter-zip sweater?
Banana republic - It's like 7 years old so I doubt you can still find it from them haha
im actually curious about your sweater, what brand is it
WHAT ABOUT THE FIT??
What is the colorway?
Thank you, Dude - most interesting.
I was wondering the quality with all the stitching. At that price point I would expect more. This confirmed I don’t need this jacket.
How tall are you and what size do you wear?
Do you have an affiliate link?
I am applying for one now with Patagonia. Thanks for asking!
I go by j-DAWG 😆
Fake news
The loose stitches drive me crazy, other than that, I love my nano puffs!
You think its warm enough for 35-60 socal weather?
@@TheFliptopmaster I would say yeah if you wear a long sleeve or something. Might feel a little chilly otherwise.
